The Mysterious Black Magician Chapter 305

"By the way Chloe, how was Bob's advancement?" Yman asked Chloe after Bob was gone from their sight.
Chloe glanced at him and put her finger below her mouth. "Uh, Uhm," Yman noticed that Chloe did not change. He still talked shyly. "A-After you left, I remembered he leveled up quite a few times. The opening of the dungeon truly helps a lot. Not only to us but also all of the trainees in the academy."
"I see, that's good for him—"
"A dungeon?" Rea suddenly repeated the word. The others looked at her. Rea wondered if it could help her advance. Maybe she needed such a place to help her get motivated in her training. These past days, the spell she was trying to learn came to a standstill. She couldn't advance. She felt there was something she was lacking. That there was something she needed to understand.
"Yes, Miss Rea," while Rea was pondering, Chloe nodded her head.
Beside them, Yana's eyes were gleaming. "Miss Rea, Brother, Miss Chloe, what is a dungeon?" Although she heard it quite a few times, she never saw it once. However, based on their conversation, it seemed like an exciting place.
The three looked at her. "Well, even if you asked me, I never saw one before. But, I read about it in a book. It was a monster-dwelling place," Yman replied to his sister while starting to walk. The others also followed him.
"I-It's a dangerous place," Chloe added after Yman.
"Crimson, when you have free time, can you take me
there?" Rea asked.
Yman stared at her eyes. After being with her for quite a long time, he became familiar with her. He could tell if she was serious or not through her gaze. And even in her mundane gestures.

He noticed that she was serious. Before giving his reply, he glanced at Chloe, "What do you think, Chloe?" Although Yman was quite confident with his current strength, he wasn't the type of person who took it to the head. Being confident could also be a bad habit. Much worse when a person becomes overconfident.
Rea was different from them. She didn't have the deity's immortality buff from the resonance. Whenever they found themselves in a blunder, they still had a chance to survive. On the contrary, Rea had only a chance.
So he could not just nod at her. After all, her safety was his priority.
"Uhm, don't worry, the first few floors have only low-rank monsters. I think, with your strength now, it would be easy for you to walk around in that room. But, once you reached the 10th floor, you would be facing a boss-type monster," Chloe replied.
"Hm, I see. By the way, has no one killed the boss yet?" Yman asked in wonder. He was wondering why Chloe was still mentioning the boss on floor 10th. Was it not natural that the boss would disappear once it was defeated? Since Chloe was still mentioning it, then the boss was still alive. And since it was alive, it means no one had managed to defeat it. Perhaps the boss in the dungeon was overly powerful.
But Yman took back his thoughts at Chloe's reply.
"It's not like the boss on the 10th floor is overly powerful,'' answered Chloe.
Yman stopped on his feet and gazed at her. "N-Not powerful?"
He noticed Chloe nodding her head. "Yes, the boss on the tenth floor can be easily dealt with. However, because of some inexplicable reasons, on every 10th floor, there was no lack of boss-type monsters. Whenever a boss died, another would take its place, replacing the previous one."

"What!"
"Really?"
"?!"
Yman, Rea, and Yana were both surprised by Chloe's explanation.
"Yes," Chloe nodded.
"I see," after saying it, he went silent and pondered for a moment.
"Uh, how about the mobs?" He asked. Mobs are the cannon fodder monster. "Are there an unlimited number of them too? Or they are the same as the boss-type monster too."
"Hmm, the mobs were the summons of the bosses. So as you imagined, there were almost non stops for them in the dungeon."
"....."
"That was surprising," Yman mumbled. He never expected that a dungeon was such a mysterious place.
Chloe had to say her farewell as well.
Yman, Rea, and Yana had to find a new place to stay. They needed a much bigger house. A house that was able to accommodate three people.
Rea insisted on renting a room from a luxurious hotel, but one of Yman's scout birds spotted a house and lot for sale. It was near a river. The place was nice. There was a backyard and enough space for a garden.
The only downside was the house itself. It was so rundown. Green algae were sticking on every corner of the outside walls.
The glass windows were broken and some cracks were on them. Even some parts of the ceiling were broken.
But Yman was grinning broadly. The price was reasonable. It was cheap! Cheaper than the usual price. For only 25,000 gold points he acquired his land with 400 square meters. And all was done in the legal process.
The owner sold it because their family transferred to the West District. In that area was where the dungeon was located and the center of business in the city.
So naturally, everyone would rather live there. Yman's new home was located in the Riverside District. About 3 hours away from the West District when traveling using the horse-pulled carriage.
These three hours were already a big difference for a business person. So instead of wasting time traveling, most of the merchants rather migrated to the area near to their source of income.
But such a distance wasn't a problem for Yman. Riding his massive Hell Chaser Bird, it did not even take him 10 minutes to arrive at the place.
Well, not all people could afford such an expensive flying mount. And also, it wasn't easy to tame one. And they were difficult to capture.
Though, Yman's mount was very captivating.
Yana was enjoying the flight. It was her first time riding on it, after all. It was also her first time having a view of the city.
Regardless, they had more work that needed to be done. Especially in renovating the house.

Marrow
Marrow was old... older than me or you. Older than the nation he lived in. And older than anyone he knew. Which is not surprising, because he did not know anyone else. He had been sitting, or perhaps leaning is the more apt expression, in a closet for many, many years, and had done nothing but stare. But eating, or rather chewing, a spider opened up another world to him. A world with a voice that was talking to him - to HIM! Marrow did not get what the voice was saying, but that was secondary at this point. And Marrow started to feel restless. Nuff said. If you like a sometimes quirky skeleton as the main character and want to ride along for its coming of age, or perhaps rather coming of sapience story... give it a shot. It is a litrpg context with skills, levels, heroes and monsters... and a skeleton. Not sure yet how fast the skeleton will level... we'll have to wait and see. As a disclaimer... this is my secondary novel... my main story is ongoing and most of my time is dedicated to that. As such, new chapters will, at first, be rather infrequent and irregular. If things go well, I may shift more attention to the story, but we shall see how things go.

Tur Briste
A Druid cultivation novel. Borrows concepts from Wuxia and Xianxia but using Druid myth and lore. More on this at the bottom. Crow is son of Maddox, a Druid with an ancient bloodline and a people with a story spanning toward the beginning of time. Cursed, unfated, and a heap of bad luck have brought him only pain and suffering, but nothing will stop him. Nothing can stop him. A son of Maddox doesn’t bow his head. A son of Maddox understands that only a man with roots, with something to lose, will fight until the last drop of blood leaves his body. The Draoidh were once a proud people. They were both respected and hated for their form of righteousness. Power wasn’t something they gained through the might of their arms, but through intelligence. Their fall was all the more disheartening for the weaker cultivators. The tens of thousands of years that followed… chaos reigned. They forced Draoidh until most fled to the lower realms, nearly wiped out and exhausted. They went into hiding and became known as the Druids of the Oak. The Druid Order wasn’t the powerhouse it had been, and only nine of the major clans survived the calamity. Their bloodline weakened, as well as their prestige. Even the remaining clans fought amongst each other. Already on the decline and near extinguished, the Maddox clan can only struggle for survival, but their foundation wasn’t a joke. Weakened, but not weak. The other clans will understand this difference soon enough. Tur Briste, the Shattered Tower, awaits Crow’s ascension. Reaching the upper realms is only the first step in reestablishing the Draoidh. The Druids of the Oak remembered every betrayal and grievance, and they’ll return to power and reclaim what once belonged to them. The upper realms may have forgotten, but the Druid Order has not. Please Note:1) This is harem story. There are only a few chapters with sex, and it’s not a focus of the story. I’ll only add graphic sex if I feel the story needs it, so not gratuitously. Either way, Crow has several women. This is in line with Druid/Celtic history, and harems/reverse harems were an accepted part of their culture. Further, they had open marriages, meaning the man or woman could end their marriage at any time. While it was still a patriarchy, women had almost equal power. They were a very progressive culture. 2) There is a period of a 30-50 chapters where Crow loses the ability to cultivate like a Druid so he adopts an eastern body cultivation method for a while. This is temporary, but some people feel it’s misleading, so I am pointing it out ahead of time. I promise, the Druid stuff comes back, and 90% of the lore/myths/creatures/gods are all related to Druid/Celt/Irish/Scottish history. 3) I use many original names, most of which are in Gaelic or Irish. In the story, I refer to this language as Ancient. I enjoy all kinds of folklore and myths, so I encourage you to google those original names as they arrive. I give some background on them at the end of the chapter in my author’s note. 4) I use Ogham runes a lot, these are like the Druid alphabet, and they based each rune on a sacred tree so they also have symbolism associated with them. Again, feel free to google that too. It’s pretty neat stuff. Quick Translations:Draoidh = DruidTur Briste = Shattered Tower or Broken Tower Release Schedule:As of Oct 1, 2021- 3 chapters released every Sunday (May have up to two bonus chapters)- Side character chapters… this might be bonus chapters I release through the week. So they won’t count toward the 3 chapters on Sunday.- Please understand I work full time, have two kids, and can’t spare as much time as I’d like toward my writing. Maybe in the future I can switch to doing this full time, but for now 3 chapters is a comfortable pace for me. Lastly… I very much appreciate all my readers and thank you for allowing me to entertain you!
