Chapter 102: Lil Monke - Top One!
The Regional Tournament happened every two months.
The Four Leaf World was accepting new players daily and a few of those would turn into big and promising figures for sure!
So it was certain that another tournament in two months would have other intriguing figures.
At this moment, the organizers would have spoken about other tournaments and what it meant to get into the top ten in the current regional tournament.
However, the circumstances were different this month and the guild behind this tournament could only thank the promising newbies for their help.
This guild was Bright Sun Sun.
The guild leader stepped forward and thanked everyone, "Thank you for your cooperation and keeping this matter silent. We have prepared an appropriate sum to thank everyone for your stance... Though it will surely get leaked soon, I can only give this much."
A few gold coins slipped into the players' accounts and their faces lit up in ecstasy! Gold was the highest currency and even just a few of them were useful for normal players.
For those who aimed high and possessed unique classes, this amount was nothing.
The top five eyes remained stoic and not much excitement entered their faces except for Michu!
He waved his hand and thanked, "Thanks! You are a nice guy!" Money was money and he would treasure everything entering his account!
The guild leader coughed awkwardly, then said, "You are top one, Michu... I wonder what reaction you will have after Excalibur lands in your hands. Haha!"
He was smiling because the suspicious matter wasn't exposed during the tournament! It could've hurt the viewership! And if it got exposed, the guild leader's expression would've been so bright right now!
After all, they weren't doing this tournament for enjoyment. It was just a small part of it as profit was what funneled them all this time.

Even to do this regional tournament, Bright Sun Sun Guild needed to fight for the spot with other guilds. It wasn't a battle with weapons, but a verbal battle with the game and other politics going on, so it was a hassle!
It all ended well, so the guild master spoke about the tournaments' differences, "The Guild Tournaments and Regional Tournaments are different. In the former, all it matters is your affiliation to the guild, but in Regional Tournaments, your nationality matters."
He carried on, "All of you came here with different goals, but all of you gained recognition from others. Now, it was easy because of your abilities, but those abilities won't keep your interest should they stay the same."
His words might be useless if they didn't care about fame and social media, but the properly managed fame could bring fortune to players. Everyone knew it, but numbers often muddled one's eyes and goal.
That was why he reminded those young players about it.
"If you have no fame, then just join the guild," Kaiser chimed in with a little ego in his tone.
"Haha, yes. You will have a lot of people going after you now," The Guild Leader laughed heartily, then said, "There are so many choices open for you now that you became known. It's all up to you and I wish you the best."
He turned heels and invited everyone to the stage! "Another tournament for you will be around level 100. By then, you will have all three classes and some abilities evolved! A lot of people will look forward to it, including me. I hope I will see at least some of you! I would be able to say 'Hey, these players participated in a tournament hosted by me! Haha!'"

"No wonder your guild is called Bright Sun Sun." Some players commented as such because the guild leader was a pretty bright person who laughed a lot! In a good mood, he always would be bright like sunshine!
And his white teeth let out some glitter like sunshine!
His laughter continued until the big stage spread before them!
It was time to be a little serious and do the official speech!
The Guild Leader spoke about the tournament and its progress using a lot of superfluous words that would make Michu asleep if he weren't excited about his top one spot announcement.
A beautiful voice of Lil Karolin rang out then, "Top One - Lil Monke! Yes!" She also added her own feelings to it, so it sounded much sweeter and louder! The crowd cheered on Lil Monke together with her and loud applause shook the stage.
Michu giggled and went up to the stage, "I did it!" He raised his hand up and clenched it tightly.
"You did it, Lil Monke!" The crowd followed and another wave of applause rang around Michu!
He got asked for his choice then. "Excalibur!" It was a replica, but as Yumi said, it was worth a lot of money and it also could guide them for a thrilling quest with Brotherhood Guild! This could only be thrilling because the snake wanted all rewards for herself and her prince!
"Top Two - Zerze!" Lil Karoling continued and the rewards began to disappear one by one! The top three Kaiser and top four Kitty Blue chose their rewards already, then Venomous stopped forward.
She asked for the horns, "These horns, please." It was a surprising choice that even made Bright Sun Sun's guild member ask her again! She just nodded and accepted the horns, then returned to Michu's side.
The rewards disappeared one by one, then the players left the stage as well.
After appearing outside, Michu and others were barred by various people.
There were many guild representatives, but also reporters and so on! One could spot many people wanting to talk with both Michu and Zerze, but Venomous knew that her monke couldn't take that much attention yet!
She asked, "Do you want to talk with them?"
As Michu awkwardly scratched his head, he confirmed her thoughts and Venomous hugged his arm and kicked away all those people.
Zerze was on their right and he did the same with his cold eyes and aura.
"Be careful on your way," Zerze said.
"I know," Yumi replied.
Their inventories were stuffed with unique items!
Who knew what dangers lay behind the city's walls?
Zerze changed his outfit, put a mask on and ventured into the shadows!
Yumi commented, "He is prepared, isn't he? For us, we can just log out now."
"Yeah! I am tired!" Michu replied and the couple logged out.

A note from the Author: PLEASE leave a review and alert me of any plot holes, weak portions, and anything else. I am in desperate need of beta readers and feedback. I wrote this around the new year, 2020. It's about 40k words and the first in a planned series that follows Gar "Alany" Darron and his agency of detectives as they track missing persons in the city of Throne. I have the sequel planned but not written. Once this one is completely uploaded, I'll be uploading another, unrelated series that as of right now is roughly 160k words long, and somewhere in there, I'll write the sequel to Frame of Mind. I plan to go back and forth between the two series for the foreseeable future. Thanks for reading.
