Kimmy had been gloomy ever since she returned after sending the documents to the Admin office. She was sulking inside Cain's office, not wanting to leave or go out again.

She was unusually quiet with her downcast expression. Cain had been secretly observing her for a while now. He was bothered by her actions.

He wondered what made her upset. Her mood suddenly changed upon coming back to his office.

'What happened to her?'

When he could no longer stand it, Cain stood up and approached Kimmy at her table.

"Kimberly, is there something wrong?" Cain asked her softly. There was a worried look in his eyes.

Kimmy gazed up and looked at him. Her expression became sad upon seeing his face. She felt like crying but she tried to hold it in.

"Yes, everything is fine. Do you need something, Cain?" Kimmy responded, concealing her negative emotions with a faint smile.

She was thinking that this was nothing compared to the humiliation Cain received after she ran away before the wedding. She must endure it.

She was being ridiculed for her past actions. Even though she had her reason, she could not deny the fact that she hurt Cain and his father, Daniel. Those nurses were just sympathizing with their beloved Dr. Cain.

Meanwhile, Cain had complicated emotions on his face. He knew that Kimmy was not fine at all. The proof was written all over her face but she didn't want to talk about it with him. She even smiled at him, pretending she was okay.

Cain subconsciously clenched his fists, feeling annoyed since Kimmy didn't want to share her burden with him.

Cain was about to turn and go back to his table when Kimmy called his name, stopping him from taking a step.

"Cain…" Kimmy paused, lowering her gaze. She was contemplating whether to ask him or not.

"Do you think I am a bad person… to you?"

Cain was taken aback by her sudden question. He couldn't figure out why she asked him this question out of the blue.

He was about to answer when Kimmy had spoken again.

"Oh never mind. Don't bother to answer it. Anyway, is there something you want me to do? Any orders from you?" Kimmy immediately changed the topic, afraid to hear his answer.

What if Cain truly hated her that much? She wondered how long he could forgive her. She already expected that Cain would try to get even at her and make things difficult for her.

Would he be happy knowing that his staff was cursing and badmouthing her?

They were in a master-servant agreement for three months. After this, she just hoped Cain would be free from the past, forgive her and move on with their lives.

"None for now. I will just tell you if there is something I want you to do for me," Cain responded.

Kimmy just nodded her head with a smile. Cain knitted his brows seeing that fake smile.

'Why can't she tell me what is troubling her right now?' Cain lamented to himself before going back to his table.

After a few minutes, Cain decided to check what happened in the Admin Office.

Did Kimmy have a fight or something? Did she argue with someone? Who made her upset?

These were the questions running in Cain's mind as he observed Kimmy from a distance. He stood up and excused himself, telling Kimmy that he was going to check something.

With a dark expression on his face, Cain proceeded to the Admin Office. He talked to the staff who received the documents from Kimmy.

"What happened here?" Cain asked the staff.

The staff looked at Cain confusedly. He didn't know what he was talking about. Seeing Cain's expression, he could tell that their Doctor CEO was in a bad mood.

Feeling anxious, the staff asked him back, "Huh? What do you mean, Dr. Cain?"

"When my assistant delivered some documents here, did you and Kimberly fight? Did you say something to her that upset her?" Cain asked him with a stern cold voice.

The staff shook his head vigorously. "No, Dr. Cain. I didn't do anything. We had a nice conversation. I even thanked her for delivering those documents on time," the staff explained.

Cain narrowed his eyes at him, still in doubt about his words. Kimmy's mood changed after returning from the Admin Office.

"Dr. Cain, if you don't believe me then you can check the CCTV footage as proof. I didn't argue with Miss Kimberly nor did something to upset her," The staff said desperately.

Cain stormed out of the Admin Office and went to the CCTV control room to check something. He confirmed that the staff in the Admin Office was telling the truth.

'So what happened for her to be upset and gloomy?' Cain pondered to himself.

Cain decided to check the other CCTV footage, following the time when Kimmy left his office. In the video, he saw her passing by the nurse station after leaving the Admin Office.

It seemed that the nurses were talking about Kimmy when she suddenly stopped in the Nurse Station. Cain decided to listen to the conversation.

He furrowed his brows and clenched his fist after knowing the reason why Kimmy suddenly became upset. The nurses were talking bad about her, cursing and ridiculing her.

Although the nurses were taking his side, defending and sympathizing with him, Cain felt mad hearing how they insulted and ridiculed Kimmy.

Without further ado, Cain proceeded to the Nurse Station to confront the nurses who badmouthed Kimmy.

The nurses were overjoyed when Cain stopped by in the Nurse Station. But the smile on their faces disappeared after noticing the chilly aura emanating from Dr. Cain.

"You are here to treat and take care of our patients, not to gossip about others' personal lives. I will not tolerate this ill-mannered behavior of yours. This is my last warning to all of you…" Cain spoke with his authoritative voice.

"Don't you dare speak badly about Kimberly again. My relationship with her has nothing to do with all of you! You should respect her as she is part of the Royal Family. She doesn't deserve to receive an insult from the likes of you."

"And for the record… who told you that she became my personal assistant to repent her sin and to be punished by me? Have you not ever thought that I might be the one who forced her to become my personal assistant so that I can get closer to her?"

Everyone: "..."

"Oh, one last thing… since I can't allow this kind of ill-mannered behavior from all of you, for those who insulted Kimberly... your salary this month will be cut as a punishment."

After saying that, Cain turned to leave, making everyone speechless. No one had ever seen Dr. Cain be so mad like that. This was the first time it happened. All of them received a punishment.

Who would have thought that Cain would step up to defend Kimmy even after what happened in the past?

They regretted their actions a while ago. What if they were wrong? Was it true that Dr. Cain wanted to get closer to Kimmy? Were they trying to work this relationship out this time?
