Inside the room that Butler Mo had led him to, Reuben sat on the couch and turned his phone on to check whether he had any important work emails.

*Bang*

His head whiplashed to the door that was flung open and two similar-looking men with similar-looking expressions walked in.

"Care to explain what is going on with you and our sister?" Wade scowled at the man who sat on the couch with his one leg crossed over the other.

Reuben gave them a lazy glance and then went back to reading the mails.

'Is he ignoring us!?' Wayne gnashed his teeth and stalked towards him.

His younger twin was a little hesitant to confront the demon Emperor but thinking of his sweet and innocent sister who was most likely trapped in his schemes, Wade narrowed his eyes and followed his brother.

'I have to face them someday, why not get this over with today itself.' Reuben shrugged and placed his phone aside.

Standing up from his seat, he faced the twins head-on.

"How did you meet her?" Wayne questioned with a blank look on his face.

Reuben knew that he wasn't talking about the distant past but about how he met Lina recently.

"We met on the flight back home." He answered truthfully.

"That does not explain why you have such cute nicknames for each other!?" Wade yelled because he was not satisfied with the vague response he received.

Reuben nodded his head in agreement as that was not the reason they had such names.

But he would never tell them that he started calling her 'Kitten' after their night together in that hotel room.

"We met by accident on multiple occasions which is how we became friends." He chuckled as he revealed this second shocking aspect about them.

'We tried so hard to keep them away from each other yet they somehow managed to meet?' Wayne was dumbfounded that all his efforts were in vain.

"Now we will be more than friends… Soon." The young master of the Ming family declared in a confident tone.

He then rolled his eyes because Lina was still under the impression that he cannot win her heart.

The twins noticed the weird smile that appeared on his face and shuddered.

'We are used to seeing his ice-cold face but now looking at the expressions appearing on it is actually pretty scary.' Wayne glanced at his brother who looked equally appalled.

"So why did you not tell us about her if you were getting so close to the extent that you wouldn't mind dating her?" Wade narrowed his eyes at the man who claimed to be their best friend yet he concealed such crucial information from them.

Reuben thought of the reason why he had decided to keep mum about Lina's matters and only one reason popped up in his mind.

"I wanted to keep her away from that man whore." He raised his hand and pointed his long finger straight in Wayne's direction.

While Wayne was awestruck by this accusation, Wade nodded his head as though he could understand why Reuben took such a decision.

"You thought I would sleep with my baby sister!?" Wayne bellowed as he stepped closer to Reuben.

Wade quickly got between them to avoid any punches being thrown when they were already pretty exhausted due to the aftermath of the party preparations.

"How would I know that she was your sister!?" Reuben retorted and gnashed his teeth however, he quickly calmed down.

The reason for this was that he was in a way grateful to them for hiding this fact.

'I would have definitely hated Lina if I knew that she was Lina Yang before I got to know her on a personal level.' He surmised and this was enough to make him shut his mouth.

"Whatever, bro! I always thought that you would share your important life moments with us." Wayne huffed and glared at him.

"What happened to Bros over Ho-" His words were stuck in his throat before he could even spell them out.

This was thanks to Reuben whose hands were clenched around Wayne's collar making his body to be hoisted a few inches above the ground.

"Don't you dare call her that!" Reuben snarled at the man who was turning red due to the lack of airflow to his lungs.

Wade was surprised to see how Reuben had reacted in such a strong way when he realized that Wayne was about to call Lina a 'Hoe'.

He woke up from his daze when he saw Wayne tapping Reuben's arm because he was unable to breathe due to the collar tightening around his neck.

Rushing to save his brother, Wade separated the two which resulted in Wayne dropping to the floor like a weightless doll.

His body landed with a thud and he spent a good few seconds coughing and gasping for breath.

Reuben stood unapologetic about the damage he had caused and continued to glare at the man on the floor.

Wade quickly fetched his brother a glass of water and rubbed his back until his breathing went back to normal.

After he gulped down the water, Wayne looked up and did not break eye contact with Reuben as Wade helped him up on his feet.

Now standing face to face with his assaulter, Wayne looked him in the eye and raised his hand.

Reuben was well prepared to defend himself but was stunned when he saw Wayne pouncing on him, not to hit back but to tackle him into a big bear hug.

"Get off me, you pervert!" He tried to extricate himself from the clingy hands of the other man but failed.

Wade was bewildered when he saw this move and his jaw dropped, watching two grown men trying to wrestle each other.

"You passed my test, Bro!" Wayne exclaimed as he let go of the tight hug.

Meeting the eyes of two confused men, Wayne shook his head before explaining why he was not angry for almost being choked to death.

Listening to his explanation, Reuben and Wade shared a look and then scowled at him.

"You were about to call your sister 'that' word because you wanted to see how I would react?" Reuben asked in bewilderment and scoffed when he received a nod in response.

Wayne had said such words on purpose to test whether Reuben was willing to stand up for Lina's honor in front of his best friends.

"Seeing how strongly you reacted, I know that you like my Nana a lot." He admitted with a sulking face.

He was in the misconception that Reuben was playing with Lina just to take revenge for what had happened in the past but now his beliefs were being questioned after this little test.

"I may not like it that you are courting my sister but I will not stand in your way." He rubbed his chin and gave Reuben an appreciative nod.

'Who wants your permission anyway?' Reuben rolled his eyes and ignored this fool.

His sights turned to Wade who was now glaring at his brother with malignant eyes.

"Traitor! He is trying to snatch Nana away and you are encouraging him!" He accused Wayne and gritted his teeth.

"What is so wrong with me that you think it's horrible for Kitten and me to date?" Reuben was hurt when he heard how pissed Wade was with their current situation.

Hearing his question, Wade chuckled mockingly and then looked at him from top to bottom.

"You are a cold-blooded CEO, a dumb poker-face and most of all you are too old for her!" He pointed out everything that he disliked about Reuben as a boyfriend candidate for his sister.

"Not to forget that you are surrounded by countless women who would not hesitate to kill to be with you." He continued his rant when he recalled women like Talia Zheng and Helen Gu who would surround him at any event.

Reuben was about to defend himself when Wade raised his hand to show that he was not yet done with his monologue.

"Also, that face of yours is too pretty!" He huffed after he was finally done with everything he had to say against Reuben.

Wayne was silently listening to his brother speak and then nodded his head to agree with him.

'Nana does love pretty faces! What if she is with this ice face because of his good looks?' He gaped when he realized that the possibility of this being true was quite high.

Reuben was stumped to hear about these things which should usually be plus points being used against him.

"I am a CEO which means that I have the means to take care of my people and provide for them." He began his rebuttal to everything that Wade had mentioned.

"I am older than her which would mean that I am more mature and level headed. I know my life goals, have stability in income and don't chase after childish things." He rolled his eyes and moved on to the next issue.

"Matters about women? I have never shown any interest in a woman… Before Kitten, that is!" He nodded to prove his innocence.

"I don't have to say this out loud but I would protect her from every danger!" He vowed in all seriousness which made the twins stop mocking him with their eyes.

"What was the last one? My pretty face? Well, I am quite proud of it if that was what attracted her to me." He smirked while rubbing his chin.

'But I will make sure that she falls for Reuben Ming as a whole and not just my face.' He snickered and then waited for their reply.

Wade and Wayne were silent for a few seconds before they looked at him with a scowl.

"We came here prepared for a brawl but looks like that won't be happening now." Wade patted him on the shoulder and then plopped on the couch.

"Does that mean you won't interfere in my attempts to court your sister?" Reuben asked with sparkling eyes.

The twins shared a look at each other and then nodded as they faced him.

'Because there is someone else who would be standing in your way.' Wayne felt sorry for his friend who was grinning like an idiot at the moment, not aware of what would happen in the future.

'Someone much worse is going to be your opponent. I pity you.' Wade gave him an apologetic smile which was mistaken by its receiver.

'Now they realize their mistake for trying to block my way?' Reuben rolled his eyes and he too sat beside them.

The three men sighed as they felt their tired bodies letting go of their stress and worries.
