Reuben walked into the building of the Ming Enterprises with his head held high.

The employees who watched their boss coming into the office after being missing for the past few days bowed and greeted the man as he passed them by.

His usual cold air was once again surrounding him as the soft look which he had on his face whenever he was with Lina had disappeared now.

He was the same old mean boss who did not have any emotions on his face once he had entered his office building.

There was complete silence as the man strode into the elevator that was specifically for him and his assistant.

Once he had disappeared from their sights, the hustle and bustle returned to the now lively lobby as they discussed the return of their boss to the office.

News spread throughout the company that Reuben Ming had arrived in the office and everyone was preparing for a series of meetings to make up for the days that he had been away.

The employees' thoughts were similar to that of their boss who was thinking of ways to maximize his efficiency for the day.

As the doors of the elevator split open, Reuben's gaze met those of his faithful assistant Matthew Kim who was waiting for him to arrive.

Mathew had a wide smile over his face as he welcomed his boss and followed after him into the office cabin that belonged to the CEO of Ming Enterprise.

'What is he so happy about?' Reuben wondered what it could be that had gotten him so enthusiastic this early in the morning.

He soon assumed that he was happy about something stupid which made him roll his eyes as he took his seat on the chair behind the large desk.

'I bet he is happy that today is his last day at work.' He surmised as this was truly Mathew's last day at work.

From tomorrow up to the next 5 weeks, he would be on a paid vacation on account of the Paternity leave that he had been pestering Reuben about for the past few months.

Under Mrs. Ming's insistence and for the sake of his sworn sister, Olive's care and well being, Reuben had agreed to grant him a long leave for that ridiculous reason.

Mathew Kim on the other hand was happy and excited due to a whole other reason than what his boss was assuming it to be.

True, he was happy that he would get to spend more time with his pregnant wife and be by her side when she delivers their first child but there was something else that had taken up his attention at this moment.

'Emperor has been progressing quite well in his relationship with Lina!' He squealed in his heart as he gazed at his boss.

Reuben had already been uncomfortable due to his earnest and fixed gaze but now he was outright disgusted with the man who would not stop staring at him.

'Why does he look like my mother when I told her about the accidental kiss that Lina and I had shared when we were young?' He narrowed his eyes at the man who appeared like a proud mama hen.

"What is it?" He sneered at the assistant who was not concealing the starry eyes as he stared at him.

Mathew snapped out of his proud daze as he coughed to regain his composure

The Driver had called him earlier and gave him a detailed description of everything that had taken place while the happy couple was in the car.

Therefore, he was well caught up on the juicy gossip that was taking place in the Emperor's life.

"Should I push back on the meeting as you will be going out on a date with 'Future Madam' for lunch?" Mathew inquired while trying his best to not squeal out in excitement.

The Emperor had not been in the office for almost 4 days and during this time a lot of work had been accumulating.

On the first day of the break, Reuben had asked Mathew to deliver the files to his house but after Lina's strong reprimands, he had asked the assistant to not bring any more files over.

Therefore, the number of files and projects that needed his perusal and signature had piled up.

If Reuben wished to spend the afternoon with his girlfriend then he would either have to work without rest or push back on some of the meetings that were scheduled before lunch hours.

Reuben did not care about the question he was asked but was more curious about how his assistant had heard about the plans that he and his Kitten had made.

A moment of contemplation brought the answer he was looking for which made a sweet yet deadly smile to form on his face.

"Looks like the Driver has a lot of free time and an exceptionally big mouth." He smirked while leaning his elbows on the desk.

Mathew gulped in fear that his boss would be mad at them for prying too much into his personal life but this was something that was inevitable.

They spent so much time with him that it was a given that they would hear something that they weren't supposed to.

Reuben scoffed when he saw the pale face of his assistant and decided to let him off the hook this once as he was in a pleasant mood.

"Make sure that your mouth doesn't open before others." He commanded and let the matter go with just that.

The 'others' that he had hinted at was none other than his mother who was at the receiving end of most of his gossip from these two employees of his.

Mathew nodded his head in immediate agreement and lowered his head to conceal the mischievous glint that passed through his eyes.

'I won't tell Mrs. Ming anything but the emperor did not mention anything about keeping this a secret from my wife.' He snickered inwardly and looked up once he had adjusted his facial expressions to the best of his abilities.

All he would do was mention this matter to his beloved wife. What she did with that information was up to her.

Having come up with that brilliant plan, he nodded and stood straight as he awaited his boss' next orders.

Reuben gave a quick glance over the files that were placed on his desk and then paused for a moment to decide what his next step would be.

'These won't take much time to complete.' He remarked and then raised his head to glance at the man who stood at a few feet away from him.

"How many meetings have you scheduled before lunch?" He inquired while taking a glimpse of the clock which hung on the wall.

It was 9 AM right now and he had four hours before his Kitten would arrive at Ming Enterprises to pick him up.

While he was pondering on how quick he could be in finishing his piled-up work, Mathew was checking the calendar on his phone to give his boss the right answer.

"Boss, we have three meetings scheduled before lunch." He disclosed and received a nod from the Emperor.
