When Reuben returned to the hotel room after a long and tiring day at work, he found the main hall to be empty.

He should have been at work for two more hours but he decided to surprise Lina by coming over at seven in the evening after rushing to finish his work for the day.

'Maybe she's in the office.' He surmised when he saw no sign of his Kitten.

Yanking the tie over his head, he tossed it on the couch and then strode in the direction where he might find Lina.

However, he found the outcome to be the same as even this room was empty and it appeared that she had not been in here all day.

'No discarded papers, no cans of soda, and no empty wrappers of snacks…' He scanned the room and found it spick and span which was unlike his girlfriend who made a mess whenever she worked.

Finding this strange, he exited the room and strode in the direction of their bedroom where they spent their nights each day.

'Ahh…' Reuben smirked when he heard the sound of water running in the shower coming from the bathroom inside the room.

Having thought of a wicked scheme, he picked up a change of clothes from the wardrobe that he had asked the Manager to move to this suite and then tiptoed out of the bedroom.

He then snuck back to his old suite and showered the fastest that he had ever done before rushing back to Lina's bedroom.

When he exited his suite and entered hers, he had failed to notice that an old couple from across the corridor had noticed his strange actions.

Though he had entered the room rather quickly, they had caught the sight of his face which was unforgettable for most after just one glance.

This couple had just walked out of their room when they noticed Reuben sneaking into the suite that was opposite theirs.

"Wasn't that Aloysius' grandson?" The lady inquired while patting her husband's shoulder repeatedly.

In response, the elderly man held his wife's strong hand and nodded in admittance.

"Call Aloysius and inform him that his grandson is sneaking into other people's suites like a thief!" She ordered at this horrifying discovery that they had chanced upon.

Though the old husband did not wish to interfere in the matters of the younger generation, he feared that he might anger his wife.

'My sixth honeymoon is more important than Aloysius' grandson.' He declared resolutely and nodded to her.

The couple then exited their room and walked to the elevator while he dialed his old friend's number.

"Hello, Old man Ming?" He spoke when the call was connected and entered the elevator with his wife as they rode downstairs to the restaurant for their romantic candlelight dinner.

Oblivious to the fact that his whereabouts were being leaked to his nosy grandfather, Reuben tiptoed back to Lina's and his bedroom.

Dressed in grey athleisure trousers and a black T-shirt, he climbed onto the bed and sat while resting his back on the headboard.

'Ready whenever you are~' He chuckled softly and then waited for his Kitten to return.

Inside the bathroom, Lina lathered herself with body wash which had a pleasant fragrance of lavender she was coming to love.

'I should follow Manager Lang's advice.' She thought as she rinsed the bubbly lather off her slender body.

She had completed more than half of her work needed for Stephen's collection and all that was needed was to give the final finishing touches which she would complete in the next two or three days.

After she had spoken to the Manager, she spent the day working and decided to be ready for when her boyfriend got back from work.

'Maybe I did spring that upon him which made him freeze.' She mulled over the part which might have caused Reuben to freeze in surprise.

Her brave gesture of letting him touch her more than he had ever done had taken a lot of courage from her yet he did not grasp that opportunity.

Instead, he laid behind her while cupping her breasts but not once did he move.

Lina had been disheartened and even mad at his lack of interest but the talk with Manager Lang had made her think from another perspective.

'Even I would be shocked if he sprang something on me out of nowhere!' She chided herself and decided to go slow this time, giving him proper time to adjust to what she wanted.

Turning the shower off, she stepped towards the mirror where she dabbed the dry towel over her body until it turned damp after soaking all of the moisture off her skin.

This was followed by her routine body lotion and then she smiled while looking at her face in the mirror.

'I'll wait for him to get back and then we can have dinner, later snuggle on the couch.' She planned while putting on the silk robe.

Lina then pushed the door open while wiping her hair dry but what she saw made her drop the towel in her hand.

Laying on the bed was the man she had been thinking about when she was in the shower.

Reuben's eyes roamed across the body of the woman who had just stepped out of a steaming hot shower.

Her face was beet red due to the heat from the water and there was a gentle glow on her skin.

Dripping wet hair fell over her shoulders causing those areas of the robe to be darker than the rest.

His eyes traveled lower and darkened when he saw the loosely-tied robe which allowed him to glimpse at a large part of her deep cleavage.

As he moved his gaze forward, he met her luscious thighs which were shapely and tempting to see, making him want to touch them.

Lina squirmed in the place she stood after being subjected to his darkened gaze.

Reuben gulped hard when he saw her bending forward to pick up the towel which she had dropped when she was caught by surprise at his silent arrival.

'I thought that he would be late as usual…' She pouted and threw the soiled towel to the side as she stood in the same place.

"Come…" He called out while raising his hand in her direction.

Lina fastened her robe tighter in her attempt to cover up her body but that only caused her body's contours to be more visible as the robe clung to her skin.

Oblivious to the torture she was making her boyfriend endure with her unintentional actions, she ambled towards the bed where he rested.

'Was testing me yesterday not enough!?' Reuben lamented as he bit his lip and watched his gorgeous girlfriend move closer.

Just last night, he had exercised self-control when she had asked him to touch her.

He knew what she wanted from him but at the same time, her stiff and nervous back indicated that internally she wasn't ready for what she thought she wanted.

'I want her to be free of any fear when she is with me. May take time but I will surely make her comfortable with me and my touch!' He proclaimed his life's mission when it came to this beautiful woman who now stood before him.

"Sit." He added when he saw her frozen in place.

Lina took her seat opposite him and chuckled nervously while trying to cover her body to the best of her abilities.

She had thought that he wouldn't be back for a few more hours, this meant only one thing.

'I am not wearing anything under this robe!' She lamented her bad luck for the choices she had made.

Reuben noticed her strange behavior and understood what she was worried about.

Therefore, the considerate boyfriend reached for the switch and in the next second the room was overtaken by the darkness of the night.

Lina and Reuben's eyes slowly adjusted to the darkness and they could make out the silhouettes of the other person from the little light that came in through the windows.

"Thank you." She muttered in gratitude for his kind gesture.

Reuben hummed in response and smiled at the silhouette of his Kitten whom he could make out was looking down.

'He must've noticed!' Lina grumbled in embarrassment as this could be the only explanation for him to turn off the lights.

However, before she could dive deeper into the realm of fluster, she felt strong arms around her waist and her body fell forward.
