Mrs. Tong's face, which had been distorted due to her anger at what she had experienced just earlier, had now morphed into curiosity to know more about what this young lady was blabbing about.

The rest had similar looks of intrigue written all over their faces as they waited to hear what Lina had to say next.

Lina's tilted head remained the same way but her smiling face turned serious.

"Mrs. Tong might not have heard about this but I can very well assure you that it has already been proven whether my qualifications were sufficient to join this company." She informed the other woman about the details that she was not enlightened about.

From the words that Mrs. Tong had spoken earlier, Lina was sure that this lady was aware of certain aspects about her.

However, it was also clear to notice that those were only half-truths and there was much that she was not yet aware of.

Though right now this did not matter as she was more than willing to clear the misunderstanding that this woman seemed to have about her and her qualifications.

Glancing towards Director Bai, Lina smiled sweetly but this only made the man shudder in fear of what this little Demoness would ask of him next.

"Our Director here would be more than willing to attest to the authenticity of my claims." She allocated this duty to the man who was a known figure in the company to hate people who used their family backgrounds to get a job here.

If Lina truly had used her brother's position as VP to enter the company without having valid qualifications to back her up then there was no way that Director Bai would be friendly with her.

However, just earlier, everyone had seen how he had helped her out and even played along with her antics.

This proved that Director Bai was not against Lina like how Mrs. Tong had expected him to be.

'Who knows, she must have paid him off as well!' The old lady was stubborn in her thoughts and refused to accept anything that Lina had said.

"I wouldn't have allowed her to remain in my team if she wasn't worthy of it." Stuart Bai revealed his thoughts about the matter concerning Lina's qualifications which had been questioned earlier.

However, Mrs. Tong had already made up her mind to disregard this man's opinion as in her sight, he too must have bowed before the power of money.

Leon had been noticing her expressions all along so it was easy for him to catch the sneer and the glint of disgust that had flashed across her eyes for just a second before it faded away.

'The pot calling the kettle black.' He thought but did not dare to voice it out as right now, the two opposing ladies were in a league of their own.

Lina too had noticed that Mrs. Tong wasn't convinced even after Director Bai's intervention.

Therefore, she abandoned the idea of trying to prove her point to someone who wasn't willing to listen to her.

With this thought in mind and wishing not to waste any further time over this, she moved to the final part of her speech.

"Finally, you still haven't answered…" Lina began but paused and leaned forward.

"What gives you the right to speak to me in this tone?" She interrogated as a chilling aura enveloped her body.

The four people closest to her position were the first to be affected by this aura.

Wade to her right, Benji who was standing right behind her, and Stuart Bai to her left grimaced at the changes in her body language which revealed that she was done playing.

The one it was aimed at, Mrs. Tong, was also affected by this stifling aura that made her straighten her back the next instant.

However, thinking of how her body had subconsciously reacted in fear for Lina's words and actions just now, an unbridled fury ignited in her heart.

"Did you not hear who I am?" She spat out while crossing her arms across her chest.

Just earlier the VP had introduced her identity to this young brat so she should be aware of who she was dealing with.

Her pride in her name and her abilities was clear on her face but Lina was least affected by her attitude.

"Yes, I did hear who you are." She responded in a calm tone.

Looking the older woman straight in the eye, Lina had only one line to add to her former statement.

"An employee here at Obsidia Designs." She uttered without any fluctuations in her tone before glancing at everyone around her.

"Just like the rest present here." She finished her statement when her eyes landed on the VP.

Everyone inside this room, including VP Wade, was an employee of Obsidia and had signed a contract of employment which proved this statement.

Therefore, they nodded in acceptance of what Lina had just reminded them.

On the contrary, Mrs. Tong's face burned with embarrassment at the reminder that she was just an employee here.

She was not expecting this and had thus been stunned speechless for a few seconds before she was able to regain her composure.

"Heh!" She scoffed and raised her chin, unwilling to admit defeat just yet.

"I bring in a major chunk of revenue to this company so it is a given that I am above the rest here and most certainly above you." She declared the reason why she was able to speak to Lina in that tone.

The justification she had given brought many frowns to this room.

Though the rest were higher employees in this company, Mrs. Tong had just belittled their status and their value with the reason that she had given.

However, the woman was so engulfed in the victory that she had gained over Lina that she failed to notice the dulling expressions on their faces.

Lina's eyes shook for a second before she raised an eyebrow.

'Did she just say that?' She was bewildered at what Mrs. Tong had openly announced with such pride.

"More revenue than LY?" Lina retorted with a question that changed the gloomy air that had engulfed this room.

Leon was the first to chortle after taking in the view of Lina's innocent face as she reminded Mrs. Tong that there was someone much higher than her in terms of sales in this company.

Who did not know that Obsidia was a jewelry company, to begin with, and its star designer, LY, was its pride?

The clothing department where Mrs. Tong worked, came into existence shortly after Obsidia became popular in the Eastern market.

Without the jewelry designed by LY and their team, would there be a clothing department, to begin with?

The answer was clear in everyone's heart and the same appeared on their faces.

Wade coughed to cover up his laughter and Director Bai pinched his thigh to stop himself from making any more mistakes here.

Mrs. Tong glared at Lina for bringing up someone who had no connection to their current conversation.

"There is no need for you to compare different departments." She argued and clicked her tongue as there was no way that she could refute Lina's words.

After all, LY was the leading designer of Obsidia.

The sales from their jewelry which were released without a fixed schedule were much higher than what the entire clothing department earned after numerous months of continuous production and sales.

"At least I am way better than that brat." Mrs. Tong smirked while pointing her chin in a certain direction.

Curious to see who she was mocking this time, Lina leaned forward to take a peek at the one who was being targeted.

To her surprise, the face she saw made her freeze, after which her lips bent to form a frown.

How could she not be shocked as the one being mocked by Mrs. Tong was the one for whom this meeting was being held in the first place?

'I was wondering where he was.' Lina thought back to the times when she had been scanning the room to find his location but each time she was distracted by the woman seated before her.

Without any distractions this time, her eyes met those of the one she had been looking for all along.

However, the silent face of the young boy whom she was staring at was not something she was used to seeing each time they met.

'Why is he not reacting after getting mocked?' Lina wondered if there was something she was missing here.
