Secrets Of The Universe Chapter 161

Far away from the banshee leader, at the corner of a building, five figures could be seen panting loudly.
They constantly ran and only stopped when they entered a small building.
"Huff--Hufff---" Eden went on.
On his shoulder was Jake who could barely move. The latter had risked it all to give Eden the boost he needed.
Allowing his team to catch their breath, Eden was thankful for his preparation.
The sphere he had taken out was a [Lesalt Bomb]. A bomb made out of [Lesalt Holy Crystals], a crystal that when processed right could release its energy in a hazy form.
The bomb was one of the most expensive things he had ever bought. It cost him tens of energy crystals and for a good cause.
Due to the lockdown in the main continent, all sea traders had deserted the continent, preventing the large supply of ores to get to the islands.
Right now, the resources on the islands were finite and no one would risk ever going back to get more supply!
.......
After catching their breath, the group silently looked at one another.
It was, ironically, Eden that broke the silence, "We can't stay like this."
It was a feeling that lingered on his mind since the attack began.
"What do we do?" River asked.
"No, we shouldn't bother about that. Our main priority is to secure ourselves," added Renee.
*Shriek!!*
The moment she said that multiple screams of various banshees crept in the background.
The sound felt close to them and gave them shivers when they thought of it.
Quickly, Eden brought out something from his [Spatial Ring]. They were two items; a potion and a lotion.
He brought out five of the set and passed each set to the group, introducing them at the same time, "The potion is something I made in my spare time. I have yet to give it a name. Theoretically, it should help hide one's aura from most netherans"

Cocking her head at her leader, River couldn't help but ask, "Theoretically?.....Most?....."
However, Eden ignored her and continued, "The lotion has the same effect, except it is more than just the aura this time. It also has another effect of giving one the aura of a netheran. But since I knew the group of netherans that stay here, I tweaked it to produce an aura of a ghost."
"Why didn't you give us before? Before Archer died?" shot Renee.
"I would have done so, but it has a time limit, possibly just an hour long. I planned to give you when it was needed," softly explained Eden.
Eden was a special type of warrior. He was one that walked the healing path. This would enable him to have his own medicines and make him not need to rely on anyone else for those items.
The group couldn't count the number of times Eden's products saved their lives.
However, there was a catch.....!
After drinking the potion, Jake could already feel his stomach being upset.
He ignored that and opened the bottle containing the lotion. Immediately, he was thrown away by its stench.
A frown curved on his eyebrows as he sent accusatory stares at Eden.
He didn't need words as Eden could understand the meaning of the stares of not only Jake but the rest of them.
"What do you use for the lotion?" begged River.
They all knew that Eden was a very 'unique' healer. He was one that liked to use weird demonic beast ingredient for his products.
Out of all of them, it was probably Jake that had suffered the most from this.
Months ago, when Jake had washed up ashore, he was saved by Eden.
Eden took him to his room and proceeded to batch his injured body up, but not just by any normal 'healer' means.

Jake could remember that day vividly. He woke up to his body covered in a horrendous stench.
When he checked it, he found that he was actually covered in the feaces of demonic beasts. Even his perfect face and hair were not excluded from this!
Right now, Eden squeezed his face as he realized he was treading on a thin line.
Thankfully, he had the right answer to give, "It is only the potion that was mixed with dried beast's feces. The lotion was made from different ingredients and a few materials from incorporeal netherans."
River was about to complain when she heard the screams of a nearing banshee.
It reminded the group that they were not in a position to complain. So, quickly, they rubbed their faces and armor with the lotion.
After they were done, a scream was heard in the building.
Knowing that it would be over if they were seen by a banshee. They hid behind a huge chair and waited for the banshee to be done with inspecting.
From the side of the chair, Jake could see the banshee entering the room.
She only moved around a bit before she left.
'Good. The items work,' sighed Jake.
However, he knew that part of the reason they weren't found out by the banshee was that she relied on her senses instead of searching the good old way.
Thankfully, this worked in their favor.
Standing up from their hidden spot, Renee took watch as the rest tried to decide, "What now?"
"Surely, we can't expect to leave right," muttered Sea.
All of them had entered the town with the mind of either dying or retrieving the bounty.
Despite Archer's death, they couldn't leave.
"How good is the effect of the lotion?" asked Renee as she watched the streets, hiding behind a window curtain.
"I don't know. It's just a prototype, but my guess is that it can only against normal incorporeal netherans like ghosts and phantom," divulged Eden.
As she watched a ghost roam the streets, she asked, "So, if we walk outside, our safety is not fully guaranteed?"
"Yes," Eden wrinkled his nose.
He turned his head to Jake and queried, "Jake, is the barrier gap still a viable escape method?"
Jake shook his head in reply.
He scribbled to Eden, telling him that the gap would be closed by now. However, it would be easier to open it, if given enough time.
As he was already embarking on the [Array Path], Jake was confident enough to open a gap at the same spot quickly.
He let Eden decided for the group.
Combing his lower beards, Eden sighed, "Since you have said so, we should continue with the bounty. Our plan is to infiltrate the manor! "

(This story is a work in progress. As the first story that I have ever written, the beginning, especially the first ten chapters or so, needs heavy editing. I have decided to continue writing the story instead of going back and editing the beginning. I hope that despite all its flaws you will still find my story enjoyable.)

The first chapters are the crystallization of my first ever attempts at writing, I believe the story flow gets better as the chapters progress.
