Lin Hao turned around to look for that young man who ignored him and entered in the thick layer of fog, appearing here first but he failed to find him. So, even though he felt like returning immediately, he did not return but walked forward, searching for that person.
"Boom!"
"Roar!"
Suddenly he heard the sound of battle as well as the roar of a magical beast.
Lin Hao hurriedly ran in the direction from where that sound came and when he got near he once again saw that young man, who was busy in removing the beast core from the corpse of the magical beast.
He kept walking until he reached near them. He first looked at Ye Xiao and then lowered his eyes to look at the corpse of the magical beast.
He was surprised to find out that this was a second rank magical beast known as Ironback Ape. Ironback Apes were known for their defense. The biggest characteristics of Ironback Apes is its iron like back and its extremely strong defensive power. And because of this, martial artists of Qi Condensation Realm usually avoid the Ironback Ape because it is very difficult to hunt these apes.
And this is what surprised Lin Hao even more because he saw that there were no other wound on the corpse of Ironback Ape except for its head. And also in its head, there was only a single wound as if it was pierced by something.
At this moment Lin Hao also understood that the young man in front of him was not any ordinary person. He again looked at Ye Xiao carefully from up to down. He also felt puzzled over a matter. And that matter was that he did not understand exactly what would have been the reason to make a person like Ye Xiao cry like that.

"Why are you here?" Ye Xiao also looked at Lin Hao and was surprised to see him here. When he entered into the wall made up of thick layer of fog, he thought that Lin Hao would not dare to enter here but the reality was exactly opposite. Lin Hao not only dared to enter, he even found him.
"Oh I, I am here to look for you." Lin Hao said and again it was in the emotionless tone.
"For me? Why?" Ye Xiao also became curious about why Lin Hao was looking for him.
"Nothing important. It was just that in the forest I heard a loud cry of someone and when I walked in that direction, I found it was you. And then you entered here so I also followed you." At this moment, on the emotionless face of Lin Hao, a small smile appeared.
Ye Xiao was again astonished after finding out the reason behind Lin Hao's appearance.
"Eh, so that's how it is." Ye Xiao nodded his head and didn't say much.
"You already know me but even so let's start with start. I am Lin Hao and you are?" Lin Hao again asked by cupping his hand.
"Ye Xiao." Lin Hao also cupped his hand in response and felt puzzled why Lin Hao was behaving like this.
"You killed this Ironback Ape, right?" Lin Hao looked at the corpse of the ape and asked.
"Yes, why?"
"Maybe you don't know. So let me tell you that Ironback Apes never come out alone. They always form a group to venture in the forest and normally, their group's leader is always a third rank Ironback Ape. You killed a Ironback Ape here, it means there would definitely be a group of Ironback near us. And because of the last roar of this Ironback Ape, they would come here soon. So, it will be good if leave this place immediately otherwise it will be a disaster for us." Lin Hao explained.

"Oh, is there a thing like this?" Ye Xiao was caught off guard here. He didn't know about this.
"Roar!"
"Roar!"
"Roar!"
Soddenly many roars of Ironback Apes resounded in the forest. And exactly at that time, the sound of many trees rolling echoed.
"F*ck, it is already late."
"Hurry up, run"
Ye Xiao and Lin Hao said at the same time and they started running deeper in the forest in order to avoid fighting with the group of Ironback Apes.
But as Ye Xiao said, it was already late. Many Ironback Apes surrounded both of them and roared at them. Then a big Ironback Ape among them walked toward them with red eyes. This ape was bigger than other Ironback apes. It was a three meter tall ape. It first looked at the corpse of its companion and then looked at the two young man who were trying to escape before.
"Roar!"
It also roared at Ye Xiao and Lin Hao. It was precisely the leader of the group of Ironback Apes. A third rank magical beast.
"Roar!"
"Roar!"
"Roar!"
Seeing the big ape roaring, all other apes started roaring at them while beating their own chest with both of their hands.
"What should we do now?" Ye Xiao could not help but become nervous. He was never surrounded by a group of magical beasts and he never fought a battle with more than two magical beasts at once let alone a group of magical beasts where there were more than twenty Ironback Apes.
"Let's fight." Lin Hao said only two words but these words made Ye Xiao speechless.
Dude, don't you see there are more than twenty Ironback Apes here.
Let's assume that we somehow manged to deal with these apes but what about the this big one in front of us. It is a third rank magical beast.
This one alone is equal to more than ten second rank Ironback Apes.
Seeing the speechless face of Ye Xiao, Lin Hao also understood something and hurriedly explained, "I mean, I'll fight with the leader first and you try to hold back other apes. When I'll finish the leader of these apes, I'll come and help you, killing all the second rank Ironback Apes. This way we can not only manage to deal with these apes, we'll also earn a big from this."

Delve
Summary – Level 1: Delve is an isekai litrpg that follows an average guy who just happened to wake up in a forest one day. He wasn’t summoned to defeat the demon lord or to save the world or anything like that, at least as far as he can tell. The only creature there to greet him was a regular old squirrel. Soon enough, he meets other people, only to discover that he can’t speak the language, and that not everybody immediately trusts random pajama-wearing strangers they met in the middle of the wilderness. Things generally go downhill from there, at least until the blue boxes start appearing. Delve is a story about finding your way in a new, strange, and dangerous world. It’s about avoiding death, figuring out what the heck is going on, and trying to make some friends along the way. It’s not about getting home, so much as finding a new one. Did I mention that there will be math? Summary – Level 2: Okay, but what are you in for, really? Well, this story is supposed to be realistic, or at least, as realistic as a fantasy litrpg can be. The main character doesn’t instantly become an all-powerful god and murder-hobo his way across the universe. Delve is, at its heart, a progression fantasy, but that progression is meant to feel earned. The numbers in this story actually mean something. Everything is calculated, and if you find a rounding error, I expect you to tell me about it. That said, if math isn’t your cup of tea, there is plenty more that the story has to offer. Characters are meant to feel real, and progression isn’t only about personal power; it’s also about allies, connections, and above all, knowledge. Figuring out how the system works is a significant theme. ... What, you want more details? Okay, fine, but this is going to get a bit spoiler-y. Are you sure? Yes! Really sure? I mean, this summary is practically half as long as the first chap– Now! Okay, okay! The main character becomes a magic user, but he takes a route that is not very popular in adventurer culture, namely that of a support. There is a full magic system with various spells, skills, and abilities, but our MC decides that aura magic is the way to go, and that the only stat worth investing in is mana regeneration. Most people at the Adventurer’s Guild think that this makes him a bit of a dumbass, but he’s playing the long game. We’ll see how that works out for him, won’t we? Because of his build, the MC levels up fast, at least compared to normal people. There are no cheats, though, and he is limited in other ways. There are some clear and pretty obvious downsides to his build. That’s what makes it fun, no? Morals? Our MC has them. Again, we’ll see how that works out for him. Realism, remember? Would you be okay with killing someone and looting their body? I sure hope not. POV? The focus is on the main character, but there will be occasional varying perspectives from people around him, or involved in the events related to the main plot. It isn’t going to jump all over the place. Tech is standard medieval stasis. No smartphones, but the MC does have a technical background. Computers and their programming might be involved. There might even be a bit of uplifting down the road, who knows? Anyway, it isn’t the focus. He isn’t going to invent the gun in chapter 1 and change the face of warfare. Romance is not a major focus. Friendships are more the name of the game, though there will be some characters in romantic relationships. There is exploration, though not as much of the geographical nature as you might expect. It is more about exploration of the system and the culture. The pace is slow and detailed, sometimes verging on slice-of-life. The action is meant to be realistic and grounded in the numbers, and it is intended to have meaning beyond simply punching things until they stop moving. The general tone of the story is grey, and some parts can get quite dark. People die. Sometimes, people with names, but not anywhere near GoT level. There is plenty of light, too, though, to balance the darkness. The world is dangerous, but overcoming that danger is why we’re all here, isn’t it? Anyway, if you’ve made it this far through the summary, you clearly like words. I hope you enjoy the story! Cover by Miha Brumec Summary Updated: 2020-06-14

The Pillar Forts, one of the few successful projects of the United Nations headed by the United States, stand ready to defend humanity against any invasion that may come through the strange Connection Pillars that appeared on each continent. Massive steel and stone walls that surround the Connection Pillars. They are filled with deadly men and women trained in all manner of warfare, each trained in the newly acquired System with skills and magical abilities that they put to deadly purpose. Beside these brave warriors, tanks, helicopters, artillery and more stand ready to defend humanity at each of these powerful installations. But, can they overcome the disparity in levels and experience between themselves and the forces that threaten them and the rest of humanity? Main Characters Jessica Brown- A young African American girl. Her 18th birthday in Detroit was the same day the systems message appeared. She discovered she was Level 7, much higher than most of the rest of the world. Why she is blessed, or cursed, with the power she doesn’t know. But what she does know is that she rather likes the feeling that comes with manipulating magic. The week after her birthday, government workers started testing every person in the US in a massive census effort of skills and abilities. Jessica Brown found herself conscripted into the US Magical Corp, a new branch of the US Military, and shipped off to a Pillar Fort. Somewhere hot and muggy in her ancestors’ home of Africa. As she grows stronger, she finds she has some connection to the pillars. While everyone else sees beauty or danger when they look at the pillars, after connection is made all Jessica can see is a Tree. A tree the size of the entire universe. Isaka Smith - is a third generation American and farmer who just wants to be left alone. But she is dragged into the situation by events beyond her control. When people in her small town had to deal with rioters and looters after the system announcement, she rallied them to defend themselves, earning her a trait that the government found extraordinarily useful. After a visit to a local reservation, she finds herself conscripted to lead one of the many small support towns erected around the great pillar forts. Not near her old home, but in far-flung Africa. John McIntire, the “Fighting Bull” -The commander of the African Fort, but because of circumstances beyond his ability to contend with shortly after taking command after being re-activated from retirement, he finds communication with his chain of command increasingly difficult. The US government, hell, even the United Nations, seems to have fallen into complete and utter chaos. The African Union is embroiled in a bitter civil war just outside his door, and supposedly, most of the world governments are in similar situations. Meanwhile, John must do his best to be ready to facilitate diplomacy, or to match the hostile argument of whatever force might come through the pillar of light when the year timer finishes counting down. Can our heros defend Earth from outside threats, while it tares itself apart? Or will they need to rebuild from the ground up? DEDICATION: This story is dedicated to my father who passed away recently. Jim Holloway, you’ll be missed you old silverback gorilla. Love you dad. Always have, always will.
