Not long after they arrived at an apartment block in a nice family area. He looked around and watched as she got out of the car, he followed after but was unsure of what was happening.

They walked into the apartment block and took the lift to the penthouse. They got out of the lift together and she then pulled out a set of keys and opened the door, inside was an open plan living room and kitchen. It was bright and homely. She walked inside but he hung back and stood at the door, she fiddled with her keys and he just looked around the room in awe, he had never seen a place this big before. She turned to him then and laughed.

"Nathan come in and close the door." He closed the door behind him and stood quietly he didn't want to touch anything for fear of breaking it.

"Let me show you around." He then followed her as they looked around the warm and homey environment. He didn't understand what was happening he just followed her like a soldier. He saw the bedroom, bathroom and guest bedroom, it was all beautifully decorated. They then returned to the living room and the girl sat down and indicated that he should as well so he did.

"Nathan I think we can get along quite well together, I need someone hard working so I would like to offer you a job as my personal secretary." The girl waved her arms showing the room. "This apartment comes with the job, as well as the first month's paycheck in advance. Of course, I will get you a contract of employment tomorrow but for tonight you can stay while you decide. What do you think?"

He was shocked, he sat in disbelief, then he saw why she had fiddled with her keys. She had taken off the key from the keyring and slide it on to the coffee table between them. Suddenly like a bolt of lightning had hit him, he beamed up at her.

"I will work hard for you and I won't ever let you down." He stopped the tears that threatened to fall he had a chance this saviour had given him a chance and he would work hard to pay her back.

**END OF FLASHBACK**

Nathan composed himself and stood straight like a soldier waiting for orders opposite Ivy's desk he was so happy to have his boss and saviour back, he unwillingly had to watch as Cole strutted about and flexed his bravado over the past two years but now Ivy was back Cole was about to learn the hard way who was in charge. She was business savvy, ruthless and intelligent everything a CEO should be.

"Welcome back Ivy I missed you." Nathan couldn't help himself and reveal a bit of his earnest devotion.

"I hope you have rested well over the past two years because this company's stocks and projects are abysmal. Get me a contract for every current project we are doing." Ivy gave him a small smile at Nathans welcome, she knew she could always come back and have his support. Once she had given him this job he had never let her down and had followed her every command without fail. They stayed late together to work, ate together, looked out for one another and as they grew so did the company.

She saw him smirk and then rush off, closing the door behind him. Thomas then sneered and coughed, knowing that Noah would not see him as a threat he didn't plan to say much but his devotion was something that reminded him of Teo. Ivy seemed to pick up waifs and strays to help them. In return, they gave her their loyalty.

Nathan walked back in with the contracts piled high and set them on Ivy's desk before walking over to her mini kitchen on the right side of her office.

Ivy stood, the pile of contracts was nearly taller than her, she lifted and sorted them on her desk into piles.

"So when does the ass-kicking start?" Thomas asked he then leaned back stretching out lazily he was enjoying his relaxation time. He saw that she was filling and arranging the contracts though he didn't know what she was doing.

Nathan came back at that moment carrying two steaming cups, one coffee and one tea. He set down the tea for Ivy and the coffee for Thomas. That was when Ivy remembered, she scratched her nose awkwardly.

"Thomas this is Nathan my secretary and friend, Nathan this is my bodyguard and friend Thomas." She then waited for them to say hello to each other but it never happened, men where weird sometimes she thought and then continued what she was doing.

But the two men observed each other before Nathan asked, "Why do you need a bodyguard."

"I don't, he's employed by my lover," Ivy replied nonchalantly as she finished with her filling.

Nathan was taken aback and was stunned for a moment, "Lover, who is he?"

Ivy saw his concerned as he approached her. "Noah... Noah Adler, the protection is only necessary if people find out so don't mention it to anyone okay."

Nathan was processing the information and his head looked from Ivy to Thomas and back again, he was concerned for his boss's safety then realised that she had the number one most sought after bachelor and most richest man in the City by her side, he didn't think anyone would suit her more so he nodded in response.

Ivy took a drink of tea and lifted a pile of contracts handing them to Thomas then she did the same with Nathan. Picking up the final pile herself she smiled wickedly at the two men.

"You asked about when the ass-kicking will start Thomas, it starts now. Let's go gentlemen." The two men followed her out and into the lift, the secretaries in their office only noticed her arrival now and had started to gossip.
