《The Villain’s Redemption》The Villain's Redemption

Rhea lifted her head and stared at the graphite clouds that shaded them from the scorching sun. "How did you know how to catch a fish?" she asked without looking at him.
"You don't like the fish?" he asked in response. "Move a little, I want to sit next to you."
She turned her head towards him. "Can't you sit on that rock across me?"
"I want to sit next to you."
She looked at his smiling face before she scooted over, making space for him to sit. Then she looked at the fish that he boiled using his magic. Since coming out of that tunnel yesterday, Rhea discovered that Mo Li can actually wield fire. He used it to protect them from the insects when they were inside that cave and also used it in cooking the fish.
To make sure that no one would notice them, Mo Li had been using a different type of fire. Something that she had never seen before.
It was black, odorless, and doesn't produce any smoke. It was something that she never heard before or read from the history books. She tried to ask him about it. As usual, he dodged her question with another question — something that is becoming a routine every time she wanted to know something personal.
"I wasn't expecting a knight from a prominent family to know how to fish."
"You are discriminating against us. That's not fair."
She shrugged in response. Can he really blame her? The history books said that those Royals and prominent families had at least fifty servants serving them every day.
As to how they got the money to pay for everyone, it's simple.
Those people were actually slaves.
They were given money but food instead. They could only get monetary rewards if they did something good for the family. One of the ways for the slave to earn a copper coin is to impress a concubine by serving them, massaging them, and cooking for them.

This was terrible but… even the Larsen Family and the previous Rhea were already used to this rule. This was the law of this world.
"When are we leaving this place?" she asked as irritation once again started to boil inside her nerves. Her plan was actually simple and direct. She cut herself and pretend that the church wanted to kill her in front of the crowd kneeling outside.
It was the perfect setup.
However, this man actually destroyed everything.
"Tomorrow at dawn. By now, they must have finished checking all the secret rooms in the castle," he sighed. "I'm sorry. I didn't know that they would actually check the forbidden library."
"It wasn't your fault." Their original plan was to stay in the library but when they were about to go inside, they heard footsteps of people inside. Mo Li later confirmed that the people inside were Grand knights. Or at least the few grand knights that knew about the library. "They know that I can see the future. They figured that I can also see the library."
Because of what happened, Rhea and Mo Li were forced to go to the cave instead.
"Can you really see the future?"
Not when he was around, Rhea thought inwardly. Funny how she couldn't see anything when he was near her. "No," she answered.
"Really?"
"Really."
"Your lying."
"I can't see it when I'm with you."
That silenced him. He stared at her, confusion flashed in his eyes. "Are you telling the truth?"
"Why would I lie?"
"Maybe you just wanted to get rid of me?"
She gave another shrug.
"You can't really see it?"
"Maybe if I concentrate. I don't know." The current situation is not really good for her. She could, of course, kill him. But she couldn't do it. A part of her was actually curious about his fire and… why does her ability doesn't work when he was around.

Even the robot didn't answer her when she asked it.
That is something that made her really curious.
"Then…. Why don't you try?"
She nodded without any hesitation. She stared at his eyes. "Then… can you guard the entrance?"
"Of course."
She watched as he immediately stood, carrying his fish, and walked a few tens of meters away from her. Seeing this, Rhea tried to relax her body and thought about her ability. Actually, she doesn't have any idea how the visions come.
Previously, it would arrive like flashes in her head. It would suddenly arrive and left without warnings. Sometimes, she could hear voices of what was about to happen. For instance, during her conversation with the head pope, she already heard his yell asking his people to run after her.
Because of that, she knew that he would try to arrest it.
However, the voices came just a few seconds before he called the guards. The window was really short, therefore, one needed to act immediately, if they wanted to change the future.
Sitting in a lotus position, she closed her eyes and shut down her senses. The previous Rhea have never tried something like this in the past. However, the other Sybills wrote In their diaries how the visions would appear about the future of something that they think about. The entries also said that the visions would be extremely realistic.
And by extremely realistic it meant that if debris from an explosion would hit them, they would sustain the same injury in the real world too. Even if the explosion has yet to happen. Even if it was only a vision.
This was something that the previous Sybills never understood. In fact, even Lily couldn't understand such phenomena. Still, she thought of thinking about Mo Li.
Why Mo Li?
Because… she was curious about him.
And her ability doesn't apply to him.
For some reason, she couldn't see anything about the man. Not the past nor the future. Because of this, she is already starting to wonder if he is really human.

The Ruined Monks of Rothfield Monastery
Erin is the youngest member of the dark monks; a supernatural brotherhood whose ultimate mission is to improve the dire circumstances of poor, war-torn villages using powers unique to each member. Or so he was led to believe. Erin, like his brothers, does not age, and that is, unfortunately, the only trait he shares with them. He cannot charm or compel like Woodrow, he cannot cast illusions like Knox, he was not swift like Swithin, not powerful like Blake. He was barely an assistant to his dear brother Wilbur, with his herbology and alchemy. He was told to lie low and make himself scarce. That is what he did. The dark monks temporarily reside in abandoned monasteries scattered around the country, feeding the poor and healing the sick, nurturing the monastic lands until it was fertile enough to raise crops and rear animals. As the years passed, they would leave these reformed, repopulated, self-sustaining monasteries and venture froth to help the next settlement. Yet, after years of toiling and quiet servitude, Erin notices that people and the country itself are declining. The villagers look gaunt, the once-lush soil now barren and cracked. He begins to feel disheartened, thinking that their mission is proving futile. Still, their leader Blake is steadfast and charges onward, and lately has his eyes set on a certain monastery in a thick, thorned forest that seems to diminish, even nullify their powers. A thick forest that Erin somehow has a connection to. A thorned glade where an ethereal voice calls his name with one simple request along with a promise:Heal the land, child. Heal the land and I promise to give you sanctuary so long as you stay. I promise to nurture you as you nurture me. As Erin cultivates the land, the land, in turn, gifts all its caretakers with new, enhanced skillsets on top of their unique powers -- skills of protection, healing, and magic. Magic. Erin had long wished to see the world fill with it again. The people, regardless of common or noble blood, still believe that magic will enter this world again. Magic to bless the king like it did the Saints. Magic to dispel the miasma befouling the world. Magic to bring back the fae folk and their many forms. It is up to Erin to forge the many paths leading to a bright future; to build a prosperous paradise that welcomes all races and bloodlines, by mastering the rewards gained through agriculture, horticulture, and animal husbandry, smithing, crafting, and fishing. Erin may also find a lifelong friendship and romance with his neighbor, Claude, if he decides to pursue him, and may even join him in the military campaign outside the monastery. The darkness still lurks outside, after all, and the mastery of his skills, along with a few good friends, may finally be enough to turn the tide in their favor. Most of all, Erin wants to keep the vow he set for himself: to protect everyone and everything he loves until his dying breath.
