Lin Shiyu’s eyes turned red while Fu Qinglun held onto her tightly, kissing her all over. He couldn’t stop muttering with that husky voice of his, I love you…

She was thinking to herself, perhaps she would still encounter that same nightmare, but maybe just maybe… she wouldn’t be afraid anymore.

He continued muttering those honeyed words and she became his once again.

The next morning.

Fu Qinglun gradually opened his eyes, he was in the hospital.

Looking at the ceiling for a few seconds, he quickly sobered up and sat up on the bed.

He then heard a low voice resounding in the ward. “Qinglun, you’re awake?”

Fu Qinglun lifted his eyes and glanced over, it was Gu Mohan who was seated on the couch. He had a copy of the Financial Times beside him, it was evident that Gu Mohan had been keeping him company in the hospital.

“Mm. You were the one who sent me to the hospital? That disgusting woman Rongrong didn’t lay her hands on me right?”

Gu Mohan stood up and walked over to his bedside. “She didn’t.”

Then, Gu Mohan asked deliberately, “How are you feeling right now?”

How was he feeling?

Fu Qinglun felt a twinge in his chest. He was changed out of his dirty clothes and his wound was already well-bandaged. He furrowed his brows before replying, “It hurts a little, I’m also quite tired…”

Tired?

Gu Mohan arched his brows. That was for sure, how could he not be tired after all that physical activity. It had lasted practically all night.

“Qinglun, what are your plans for now?”

Fu Qinglun didn’t utter a word.

Gu Mohan handed a jade pendant, alongside a sealed envelope containing a document over to him. “I’ve helped with the investigations, and Lin Shiyu is right. You should leave Karghalik for Mexico, Karghalik will be under your control again when you return.”

Fu Qinglun stretched his arm out to take the jade pendant and the document from Gu Mohan, but he didn’t look inside the sealed envelope. He lifted the blanket and got up from the bed. “I won’t leave.”

Gu Mohan didn’t move an inch, he had both hands in his pockets while watching Fu Qinglun make his adamant stance. “Are you going to look for Lin Shiyu? I can tell you where she is right now. Fu Jingtong is preparing to propose to her and she is current at the proposal venue.”

Fu Qinglun froze, he turned his head around and gaped at Gu Mohan…

In a church, an off-white colored spire, long red carpets and the melodious sounds of a piano. The guests present all belonged to the high society and the entire venue was giving off a romantic vibe.

Fu Jingtong knelt on one knee, presenting a diamond ring in front of him. “Shi’shi, please marry me. I’ll make sure to love you and dote on you well. Be my Mrs Fu.”

Lin Shiyu stood there, fluttering her eyelashes while looking at Fu Jingtong coldly.

A Rolls-Royce Phantom appeared and she could see it from the corner of her eye. The passenger’s seat door opened and a familiar figure appeared before her.

It was Fu Qinglun.

He had arrived.

Lin Shiyu smiled and nodded. “Okay, I’ll marry you.”

Fu Qinglun started running over right after he alighted from the car. The distance between the two of them was getting closer when he heard her say—-‘Okay, I’ll marry you’.

She had agreed to Fu Jingtong’s proposal, she was going to get married to Fu Jingtong.

Fu Qinglun stopped running, he didn’t move closer. They were so close to each other, but he could no longer get any closer to her.

“Kiss her, kiss her!” The crowd started cheering.

Fu Jingtong slid the diamond ring onto Lin Shiyu’s finger and stood up. He stretched an arm out, victoriously grasping her waist and attempted to give her a peck on the cheek.

But Lin Shiyu twisted her head and avoided his kiss.

Fu Jingtong didn’t manage to kiss her.

But from the angle of the crowd, he had already kissed her. Everyone started applauding. “Young Master Jingtong, when are you getting married? You must invite us when the time comes.”

Fu Jingtong held Lin Shiyu’s waist while announcing, “Shi’shi and I will hold our wedding two weeks later.”

Fu Jingtong then found Fu Qinglun, who was amongst the crowd and looked right in his eye. “Big Brother, you must attend our wedding when the time comes.”

Fu Qinglun didn’t look at Fu Jingtong, his eyes fixated on Lin Shiyu. He then walked in front, arriving right in front of them.

The sun rays shone down on Fu Qinglun and Lin Shiyu, though it was winter, the cold wind was ever so gentle.

As time went by, their meeting again didn’t happen again until three years later. But this scene only continued to enter the dreams of a certain someone countless times, warm and soft like the threads of fate, cut only by a pair of scissors, cutting through the years of late, to calm down the heartbroken pangs of bittersweet memories.

Fu Qinglun looked at her with the gentlest gaze, one he had never given to anyone else. “Shi’shi, are you really going to… forsake me?”

Shi’shi, are you really going to forsake me?

Lin Shiyu knew that was the last time he would ask her. Once she gave him an answer, their relationship would really come to an end.

She nodded. “I don’t want you anymore.”

Fu Qinglun clenched his fists by his side, but a few seconds later, he unclenched them. “Ha.” He let out a bitter laugh, but before he could say anything else, his eyes were all red.

“Shi’shi, I’ve been working so hard to chase after you but I still failed anyways. You’ve never stopped to wait for me, even a little.

“That’s fine, today is the last time. After today I will give up and leave, Shi’shi, make sure to lead a blissful life, okay? You must do it, if not, I can’t help myself but to look for you the day I come back. You can’t bear the consequences when that time comes.

“But actually, you don’t need to be afraid of that happening. I probably won’t ever come back. This place, Karghalik and you are probably not worth my effort anymore. I will forget about you, completely and utterly.”

After speaking, Fu Qinglun immediately left.

He left.

He really left.

Lin Shiyu stood still, she didn’t move. She watched as he slowly disappeared from her sight. She was at a loss of what to do, this man had unknowingly merged into her life. Somehow, he had become a part of her life.

Over the years, they had parted ways more than they’d been together, but he seemed to always have been around her.

He was the only constant.

She didn’t need to take much effort to find him, he was always around her.

But now, she would perhaps never have the chance to see him again.

Lin Shiyu lifted her eyes to look at the blue skies.

They said that if you lifted your head to look at the skies when you felt like crying, your tears would flow back and not drip down, but why were tears still trickling down her cheeks?
