Gu Mohan was fuming with rage, he lifted his hand, pulling a button out from his shirt before he whipped out his cell phone and dialed a number. “Hello, Yan Dong, help me buy a skirt… Are men supposed to wear skirts instead?!”

Everyone was aware that Mr Gu was in a bad mood that day.

Tang Mo’er rushed to the audition venue and she bumped into someone familiar while taking the elevator, Han Xiaowan.

Han Xiaowan had managed to make a comeback in the entertainment industry for the past three years. It was said that she had managed to get a sponsor and held a good number of resources on hand. She had even played numerous cameo roles in some well-recognized movies and with the support of her stubborn fans who never left her, she managed to revive in the entertainment industry.

She had also turned up for the audition.

With ‘The Concubine’ being the highly anticipated period drama based on a popular novel and Director Haining’s stellar reputation in the industry, the powerful combination meant that the drama had no trouble receiving a good amount of investment and funding. Most of the popular female stars had all arrived to take part in the auditions, competition was tough.

Tang Mo’er and Han Xiaowan stepped into the elevator together and when Han Xiaowan saw Tang Mo’er, her eyes lit up. “Aye, Sister, it’s been three years since we last met. So you’re back again.”

Tang Mo’er gave Han Xiaowan a glance but she couldn’t be bothered to even say a word.

Han Xiaowan sized Tang Mo’er up, she wondered what Tang Mo’er even did to keep herself in such good shape. She had turned even more beautiful and a simple outfit, white shirt and black tapered trousers were enough to accentuate her womanly charms.

Tang Mo’er’s was recognized by everyone for her beauty, no one ever dared to refute that claim. Her face was her money making tool.

Filled with resentment, Han Xiaowan was overcome with jealousy, she started to have a bitter conversation with her manager, Sister Wu. “Sister Wu, three years have already passed and all of her fame is already used up, but she still has the courage to try to stage another comeback.”

Han Xiaowan shot a furtive glance at Tang Mo’er, she was expecting to see Tang Mo’er fuming in rage.

But she was disappointed, Tang Mo’er merely smiled at them, as if saying—-Whatever makes you happy.

Ding, the elevator doors opened. They had arrived at the venue and there were many female stars getting ready for the auditions.

Han Xiaowan quickly gained a grip over herself, she was serious about the audition. This series, ‘The Concubine’, had already amassed great popularity before it even started shooting, she was determined to get one of the roles.

Han Xiaowan tidied up her appearance before stepping out of the elevator in her high heels. Tang Mo’er watched as Han Xiaowan behaved pretentiously. She smirked and went in front, pulling on Han Xiaowan’s skirt as she ripped it.

Hiss, Han Xiaowan’s bodycon skirt had a slit in it and it went all the way up to her waist. Her entire thighs and black lacy underwear was exposed to the world.

Han Xiaowan hadn’t anticipated Tang Mo’er’s sneaky attack, and her face darkened to a thunderous black. “Tang Mo’er, what did you just do?”

“Xiaowan, why are you dressed like that to an audition?” Tang Mo’er suddenly raised her volume.

Everyone’s gazes riveted on them and they started discussing about Han Xiaowan. “Hurry up and look, isn’t that Han Xiaowan? Oh god, why is she dressed like that?”

Han Xiaowan wore a v-neck bodycon dress and her chest was squeezed tight to reveal her cleavage, adding on the slit that opened all the way up to her waist, it attracted the attention of everyone at the venue.

Tang Mo’er just stood in front of Han Xiaowan, batting her eyelashes innocently. “Xiaowan, I know that you have a huge chest and perky hips but we’ll have to use our acting skills and talents here. You’re going to invite some misunderstandings if you’re dressed like that, others are going to think that you’re dressed like that in order to attract some extra attention.”

A few of the female stars who once had their resources snatched away by Han Xiaowan started to give her condescending stares. “Look, Han Xiaowan is here again. Who knows if she has found a new sponsor to provide sexual favors again.”

Tang Mo’er had managed to get everyone’s arrows pointing at Han Xiaowan with just that few words of hers.

With her face flushed red, Han Xiaowan was left utterly humiliated. But then, footsteps were heard, Director Haining had walked over. Behind her was the assistant director and also executive producer, Chen Tao.

Since the director had appeared, all the female stars started to perk up, placing their attention on preparing for the auditions.

Han Xiaowan’s manager swiftly covered Han Xiaowan’s body with a coat, reminding her in a soft volume, “Xiaowan, we’ll have the chance to teach Tang Mo’er a lesson later!”

Han Xiaowan lifted her eyes, sneaking a peek at Chen Tao. Chen Tao reciprocated and they exchanged glances with each other.

Han Xiaowan raised the corner of her lips, revealing a subtle sardonic smile. She walked beside Tang Mo’er and warned her, “Tang Mo’er, you’d better watch out.”

Tang Mo’er wasn’t affected, she lifted her hand and adjusted her hair while smiling, “I hope that you’ll let me see your capabilities. Let’s fight then, I’ve never been afraid of anyone.”

Tang Mo’er then left after saying that.

The female stars lining in front of them had entered the room to take part in the auditions and Qi Xi finally found Tang Mo’er. “Mo’er, the role of the female lead for ‘The Concubine’, Wang Junyao, is already set to be the leader of the four most popular female stars, Bai Feifei. We can opt to audition for all other roles except that one. Which one are you aiming for?”

Tang Mo’er looked at the list. “Shangguan Man’er.”

“Shangguan Man’er?” Qi Xi seemed unsatisfied with her choice. “Mo’er, this Shangguan Man’er doesn’t have much screen time, she’s considered the second supporting female character. Moreover, she’s just a pretty face, I think that you can try for the first supporting female character instead.”

Tang Mo’er shook her head insistently. “I want to play Shangguan Man’er.”

Qi Xi didn’t continue to persuade her anymore, Tang Mo’er had her own ways of choosing the characters to play and she was usually quite accurate with her choices.

A crew member suddenly brought in a full basket of bottles of mineral water and he passed a bottle over to Tang Mo’er. “Miss Tang, here’s some water for you.”

Tang Mo’er took the bottle of water from him. “Thank you.”

The crew member then left.

Twisting the bottle cap open, Tang Mo’er took a sip.

Han Xiaowan stood in a corner and watched Tang Mo’er, it was only after she saw Tang Mo’er drinking the bottle of water then she started to show a creepy smile on her face.
