Chapter 884: You’ve Changed So Much I Can No Longer Recognize You

Huo Yanmei hadn’t realized that she had lost all of her charms before Lin Xuanji’s return. But now, she could clearly see her own shadow in Lin Xuanji’s pupils.

That was the very reason why Huo Yanmei disliked Lin Xuanji. She would always be the forgotten leaf as Lin Xuanji forever was the beautiful flower. Beside her, Huo Yanmei was just like her forgotten sidekick.

Lin Xuanji looked at Huo Yanmei, the corners of her lips raised. “Yanmei, we sisters haven’t seen each other in so long, don’t you have any explanations for me?”

Lin Xuanji then started speaking, “Yanmei, we were best friends 30 years ago. I truly treated you like my elder sister, but what about you? You were consumed with jealousy and lost all of your rationality. You stabbed me in the back while I was in my worst times, you forsook me. Count this slap as a proper closure of our friendship!”

Huo Yanmei ran her fingers over the left side of her face, but Lin Xuanji lifted her arm again to give her another slap on the right side of her face instead.

“Yanmei, I’m giving you this slap for all that you’ve done to Mo’er. When I was so helpless, I only handed her over to you when I thought you were the only hope.I trusted you, but I never expected that you would take things into your own hands and twist her entire fate. She should have had a wonderful childhood but you changed all of it!”

Slap! Lin Xuanji gave her a third slap. “Yanmei, this is for Mo’er too. I have given you two consecutive slaps because you caused her so much agony even after twisting her entire fate from young! You forcibly separated Mo’er and Mohan and used so many different ways just to keep them apart from each other. You’ve committed so many bad deeds, you’re incorrigible!”

Lin Xuanji then gave her a fourth slap. “This last slap is purely intended to slap the hell out of you. I want you to wake up now! Huo Yanmei, you were the eldest daughter of the Huo family and you were so talented as a businesswoman. You weren’t any lesser than any of the men out there. You could have led a life that was even more amazing than anyone else but look at you now. You’re so pitiful, so contemptible, simply pathetic!”

Huo Yanmei’s ears thrummed after receiving four slaps from Lin Xuanji. Every word of Lin Xuanji’s had pierced her right in the heart like a sharp needle.

She actually was aware of every bad deed that she had committed over the years. She knew what she was doing, but she just let herself continue going astray.

She didn’t want to wake up.

But Lin Xuanji had hit her so hard, so that she had no choice but to wake up. It was a rude awakening.

Although she couldn’t compare to Lin Xuanji, as the eldest daughter of the Huo family, she hadn’t lacked any suitors. Men who wanted to woo her could queue up all the way from Karghalik to the Capital but she had fallen for Gu Tianling, of all people.

Gu Tianling had rushed over, all because of Lin Xuanji.

Lin Xuanji turned over, glancing at Gu Tianling and the corners of her lips raised into a faint smile. “Tianling, it’s been a long time.”

Gu Tianling’s gaze was fixated on Lin Xuanji, he seemed almost fanatic and obsessed over Lin Xuanji. She was the white moonlight in his life, the one woman he loved so dearly yet couldn’t keep by his side.

He had been chasing this white moonlight for his entire life.

Gu Tianling rushed forward, wanting to approach Lin Xuanji. But an imposing figure appeared and blocked him off. It was Lu Jinwen.

Lu Jinwen stood in front of Lin Xuanji and blocked him from her, Gu Tianling couldn’t even steal a glance of Lin Xuanji.

Gu Tianling jolted, he then noticed Jun Mosheng standing beside Lu Jinwen.

When the two men had fought each other just for Lin Xuanji back then, he wasn’t even qualified enough to join them. Even after so many years had passed, he still wasn’t qualified.

Lin Xuanji just glanced at Gu Tianling then turned around to leave.

“Xuanji!” Gu Tianling gave a cry of anguish. “Can I… have a few moments with you?”

“Mom.” Tang Mo’er suddenly appeared and held Lin Xuanji’s arm.

Gu Tianling’s pupils dilated with horror. What? Tang Mo’er was… Lin Xuanji’s daughter?

Gu Tianling took two steps backwards after suffering such a blow. He should have made the connection, he should have figured it out long ago. Tang Mo’er bore such an uncanny resemblance to Xuanji…

She made sure to keep it all under wraps!

She did all of that just to witness this scene today, have him suffer in guilt in front of Xuanji!

Gu Tianling could only look at Lin Xuanji’s beautiful back view as he stammered, “Xuanji, I…”

Lin Xuanji hadn’t turned around, she just replied impassively, “Tianling, I still remember that you were such a gentle and personable man back then. However, you’ve changed so much over the years. You’ve changed so much, I no longer recognize you anymore.”

Lin Xuanji then took Tang Mo’er with her and they both left.

They all left.

Only Old Master Gu, Gu Tianling, and Huo Yanmei were left behind.

Once Lin Xuanji left his sight, Gu Tianling clenched his fists tightly by his side. He turned around, pushing Huo Yanmei against the wall and strangled her with all the strength he had.

“It’s because of you, it’s all because of you!”

Huo Yanmei could only continue laughing till she was out of breath. “You’re right, it’s all because of me. We all knew that Tang Mo’er was Lin Xuanji’s biological daughter, you were the only one kept in the dark!

“Lin Xuanji had once chosen you. You were the young master of the Gu family in the Capital and had all the traits that all women could ever ask for. However, you’ve changed so much. You no longer cared about the Gu Corporation and spent all your time with different lovers, obsessing over Lin Xuanji and wrapped up in debauchery. I wanted the lustful, disgusting side of you to be exposed in front of Lin Xuanji!

“You owe me all of this. You ruined my entire life ever since I stepped into this marriage with you! I swore to let you experience the same agony I suffered!”

Gu Tianling’s eyes were bloodshot after hearing that. “You evil woman, I’m gonna strangle you to death today, if it’s the last thing I do!”

He used even more strength to strangle her and Huo Yanmei’s face turned so red. She couldn’t breathe.
