Chapter 938: Squeezing Onto the Same Sofa

Fu Qinglun continued dressing her wound and when he was done, he noticed that Lin Shiyu had already woken up and had been looking at him the entire time.

He got up, ruffling her hair gently as he said, “Go and take a nap on the sofa. You need more rest.”

But Lin Shiyu only looked at Little Lemon worriedly.

“Sikong came by just now to check on Little Lemon, all is fine for now. I’ve hired a professional nurse, she’s right outside and she’ll come in to check on Little Lemon every few minutes. Don’t worry anymore, everything’s fine. It’s already two in the morning, have some rest if not you’ll be the one who collapses by the time Little Lemon wakes up.”

It was only then that Lin Shiyu decided to get up but her legs were numb after being in the same position for too long. Once she stood up, her entire body slid downwards.

Fu Qinglun quickly grasped her slender waist and held her in his arms. “Are you alright?”

“My legs are numb, I just need to stand up for a while.”

“Let me hug you for a while then.”

The pair froze by the bedside. Lin Shiyu just stood there while he hugged her, her head above his chest and she could hear his heart beating. His heartbeats were so powerful, enough to provide her with a sense of security.

The man suddenly moved in front, his scent following through as he planted a gentle kiss on her forehead. His kiss was silent but it was so tender and loving at the same time.

Lin Shiyu’s lashes fluttered, she tugged on his shirt. “I’m fine now.”

She wanted to push him away.

But Fu Qinglun was quicker than her, he had lifted her up and placed her on the sofa. “Have some rest, let me accompany Little Lemon.”

He covered her body with a blanket before returning beside the bed.

Lin Shiyu was no longer sleepy, she tilted her head and watched Fu Qinglun. The man sat down beside the bed and held Little Lemon’s tiny hand. His clothes were full of creases but it didn’t affect his dignified aura. He was still personable nonetheless.

She had managed to get some rest earlier on but he hadn’t gotten any at all. He had stayed for them this time when Little Lemon fell sick.

It was said that parents are bonded together because of their children. Her heart softened only when she saw him being so dedicated when Little Lemon fell sick.

No matter how tough it was the past three years, she told herself to stay strong and persevere. Women were always thought to be weak but once they became mothers, they would be strong. As time went by, she got used to being alone. She made sure to put on a strong armor for herself and protect Little Lemon and herself. She made sure that no one would ever have the chance to hurt them both.

For the past three years, she had been on her toes and always vigilant. But at that moment, it tugged at her heartstrings. She slowly let her guard down and let herself relax, just a little.

Seeing Fu Qinglun’s tall build and broad shoulders, she wanted to just depend on him. No one knew that deep inside, she was really tired, she was so tired.

She wanted to just not care about a thing and just have a good sleep.

There would naturally be someone protecting her and Little Lemon in her dreams.

Click. The door opened and the nurse walked in. “Sir, go and rest. Trust me, I’m a professional in this field and I promise to look after Little Miss well. Be sure to rest well at night so that you can be in your best state to care for Little Miss when she wakes up.”

Fu Qinglun’s eyes were bloodshot and he was obviously exhausted. He placed Little Lemon’s hand back under the blanket and got up. “I’ll hand everything over to you then.”

The nurse nodded. “Sir, there’s no vacant bed in this ICU, you’ll have to squeeze in with Madam.”

There was only one sofa in the ward and if Fu Qinglun wanted to rest, he would have to squeeze in with Lin Shiyu on the same sofa.

She then heard some footsteps, Fu Qinglun was approaching and she quickly closed her eyes.

The sounds of the footsteps stopped. Fu Qinglun arrived beside her and watched the woman on the sofa. She was pretending to be asleep.

The corners of his lips quirked up. “Shi’shi, I won’t sleep with you if you’re not willing to let me do so. There are a few benches outside along the corridor, I’ll just sit there.”

He then turned to leave after speaking.

But just as he took one step, a hand tugged on his trousers.

Fu Qinglun paused, his eyes crinkling into a smile.

He turned around, Lin Shiyu hadn’t opened her eyes but her hand was still tugging on his trousers.

So he smiled and lay on the sofa.

The sofa wasn’t that big, it was definitely enough to accommodate Lin Shiyu but with Fu Qinglun’s tall build joining, it got a little too squeezy.

It was too close.

Lin Shiyu turned around to sleep on her side, making more space while she only took up a small portion of the space. But at the same time, she only left her back view for him.

Fu Qinglun held her shoulder with one hand and called her softly, “Shi’shi.”

Lin Shiyu didn’t respond.

Undeterred, he continued again, “Shi’shi, turn around, let me hug you to sleep.”

Lin Shiyu didn’t move an inch.

Fu Qinglun then grasped her waist, forcefully turning her body around and she landed in his embrace. He stretched out a muscular arm to hold her shoulder while her tiny face landed against his chest.

Their bodies were close to each other under the blankets.

Her body was extremely cold, especially her limbs. He pulled her feet between his legs and placed her hands on his buttons, murmuring in her ears. “Just unbutton my shirt and place your hand inside. It’s warm.”

Lin Shiyu hadn’t fallen asleep, she heard every word of his clearly. With a fluttering of lashes, she didn’t hold back and just unbuttoned his shirt, moving her hands inside to get some much-needed warmth.

His chest was not only perfectly tanned but also very warm, practically scorching. Her cold hands were on his waist and they instantly gained warmth from him.

Fu Qinglun’s Adam’s apple bobbed. Men’s waist area were more sensitive and her hands were moving around nimbly. He quickly pulled her to place them on his chest instead.

“Don’t touch a man’s waist,” he murmured darkly.

Lin Shiyu slowly opened her eyes, his handsome face appeared in front of her with his defined jawline. “You’re fine now?”

Fu Qinglun looked at the ceiling above him. “I’m not alright yet, but… I just feel like doing it.”

Hearing him, Lin Shiyu closed her eyes and didn’t bother with him anymore. Fu Qinglun kissed her forehead. “Go to sleep, good night Shi’shi.”

Lin Shiyu slept really well and when she eventually opened her eyes, it was already the next morning. The sun rays shone through the curtains and landed on her.

There was no one beside her, Fu Qinglun had woken up before her.

Stretching her arms out, Lin Shiyu felt the other half of the sofa and found that it was empty. She had a good sleep yesterday night and her body was still warm, she burrowed in the blanket. It was her first time being so comfortable in a long time and she found that she didn’t want to get out of the warmth of the blanket.
