Chapter 995: He Wasn’t Alone on This Path

An’an’s heart palpitated, tugging on his shirt tightly with both hands, she whispered, “But I’m still injured…”

“Aren’t you all recovered already?” He ran his calloused fingertips over the scars on her stomach. The skin over her stomach was smooth and supple, but some scars had been left behind.

But it didn’t matter, the scars could be removed with some medical procedures in the future.

An’an’s gaze shifted around, just like a frightened bunny, or rather, more like a little fox that didn’t want to admit that she wanted it. Her body was in his arms and his entire masculine scent surrounded her. It felt invasive. “But I’m afraid…”

“What are you afraid of?” Lu Yan lifted her up, placing her on the bathroom counter. “I’ll be more gentle.”

He kissed her red lips.

One hour later.

Lu Yan brought An’an out of the bathroom and placed her on the hospital bed. He pulled his pants up and crouched over to give her a kiss on her cheek. “I’ll leave first.”

An’an had broken out in a fine dew of perspiration, she felt weak all over. She buried her face in the pillows, stretching her arm out to hold onto his hand, seemingly not wanting him to leave, or perhaps it was just her acting coyly.

Lu Yan’s body was covered in perspiration, the sweat flowing down his defined muscles and he appeared so sexy.

He lowered his eyes to look at her behaving coyly, before his gaze riveted on her hand. He licked the chapped areas of his lips and let out a chuckle. “You haven’t had enough yet?”

An’an quickly retracted her hand.

Seeing her actions, his eyes crinkled into a smile. If he were to continue staying there, he would probably never be able to leave. He wouldn’t bear to leave, just wanting to stay by her side forever.

“I really have to go.”

“Come back soon.”

“Mm.” Lu Yan turned around to leave.

He left.

An’an flipped her body, laying flat on the bed. She could still feel his scent on her body, pulling the blankets over, she covered her face with it.

Her eyes were glistening as she smiled happily under the blankets.

Lu Yan had gone for an operation and An’an flew to Country Z the next day to find the General.

She stayed in Country Z for two days, but whenever she went to find the General, she would always be denied access. The guards would always stop her from entering the place.

Her position was too low to even meet the General. The report hadn’t been approved either.

She went to the army base once again one day. The guards outside could already recognize her with just one glance. “Miss, why are you here again? I really can’t let you in to meet the General. Moreover, it’s said that the General has an important meeting today, he’s not free to meet you.”

An’an looked through the gate, there were a few bulletproof Jeeps parked inside. There was one Jeep with a flag on it, the entire scene grand and magnificent.

A group of highly ranked officers dressed in their uniform walked out, splitting into two rows. They were all saluting the man in the bulletproof Jeep at the very front.

The door opened and Chen Jin stepped out of the Jeep.

It was An’an’s first time seeing Chen Jin in person. Though he was already in his 50s, he still wielded great power and hadn’t seemed to have become any slower due to his old age. His entire countenance remained stern, just like how those who were highly regarded in society would behave.

Chen Jin got down the Jeep, walking towards the conference room. The confidential secretary followed behind him, handing over the meeting notes to him.

The highly ranked army officers all followed behind him.

They were heading for the meeting.

An’an’s eyes lit up, she knew that there would be no next time if she didn’t act on this opportunity.

Grabbing onto the gate, she shouted, “General, please stop for a moment!”

Chen Jin jolted, turning around to look at An’an.

The guard was scared out of his wits, he hadn’t expected An’an to be so brazen. He quickly ran over, wanting to chase An’an away. “Miss, I have to warn you here, if you’re still not going to leave, I’m going to arrest you under the crime of disrupting public order.”

Chen Jin glanced at An’an impassively. He just turned to leave.

Two guards had come to chase An’an away. An’an watched as Chen Jin walked away, she suddenly pleaded, “General, could you please just let me have a few minutes with you? I know that I’m not in the position to request a meeting with you, but what about Blood Eagle? Does Blood Eagle have the right to meet you?”

Chen Jin froze, he slowly turned around.

An’an flung the two guards away, climbing over the gate and she leaped over.

She easily got past the gate and entered the place.

It was military grounds and there were alarms set up whenever there were intruders. The red sirens started ringing after An’an leaped over the gate. She heard many footsteps, tens of soldiers had run over and aimed their rifles at her head and chest.

“Miss, who are you? You should stop now, I’m going to start counting. By the count of three, if you don’t stop, we’re going to shoot!”

An’an didn’t look at anyone, her gaze focused on Chen Jin in front. She stretched her legs out, walking in front step by step. “General, I apologize for having to use such a way in order to meet you. Let me introduce myself, I’m Blood Eagle’s fiancée.”

With a pull, the red string around An’an’s neck had been taken down. It was a diamond ring hanging around the string.

Just last night, when the pair were getting intimate, Lu Yan had taken down the red string around his neck and hung it around her neck.

“One.”

“Two.”

Someone was counting, the rifles surrounding her were enough to riddle her with holes all over.

An’an clutched onto the diamond ring, walking in front without any fear at all. She straightened her back, enunciating every word loudly. “As a soldier’s family member, I know that I shouldn’t use such a way to barge into the army base. If he were to learn about it, he would definitely scold me for being an embarrassment, but I have no other choice.

“Blood Eagle, has anyone here heard of his name before? In just a few years, it would be his 30th year fighting in the battlefield. 30 years. He has committed his entire youth, tears and blood to his nation.

“He has many identities. He’s the commander of the Blood Forces, he’s a legend in the army, politics and legislative body. He’s just like the king of hell for all international crime bodies, he’s also the father of those kids in the mountains and also my husband. Many of you idolize him but don’t actually know him in real life. Many of those who know him have already sacrificed their lives to protect him.

“I’m not here to beg anyone, we don’t need to beg anyone for help. I just want to ask for the General to investigate the truth of his father’s 20 year old case.

“The army base is a sacred place. His initial beliefs, his greatest passion are all here. You are all children of our nation, that includes Blood Eagle too. It’s just unfortunate that he’s not that lucky, he’s a child who’s wandering alone outside. I hope that our nation would open her arms to give him an embrace when he’s suffering outside. Our nation could let him know that he’s also loved by our nation, that he’s never alone on this tumultuous journey.”
