“Lu Jinwen, you’ve gone too far this time!” Lin Xuanji pulled her hands back forcefully.

She had closed the door, leaving him alone behind.

She was just short of saying one thing – Go and sleep with Wang Yanran.

Lu Jinwen’s hands hanging by his side balled into fists. He stood there frozen for a second, two, then three… he lifted his hands slowly, then knocked on the door.

He gave the door two loud, firm knocks.

“Xuanji, it’s fine if you don’t want to open the door. We’ll do this like how we did it before. I’ll knock until the door opens, alright?”

Lin Xuanji could hear the repeated knocks on her door. She rested her head against the side of the bed and pulled her legs up to herself, hugging her knees as she sat on the carpet.

She would never compromise again.

The man outside was a master at playing games. He was adept at playing with people as well. He was tightening the noose around her and setting her as his target.

“Xuanji, I feel so hot. I think the medicine is starting to work. It’s getting more and more uncomfortable. I really miss you.”

Lu Jinwen was burning up. Even his breath felt hot. Butler Ye had always been great at his job and the medicine he had procured this time was undoubtedly the best.
