Chapter 1055: Owing a Kiss

“Xuanji! Xuanji, where are you?” Lu Jinwen shouted loudly, looking for her everywhere.

As he continued to shout, his heart sank, feeling as though he had fallen into an abyss and he felt cold all over.

Xuanji!

His Xuanji!

He suddenly heard a sensual voice behind him. “Mr Lu, I’m here!”

Lu Jinwen was surprised, he quickly turned back to look. Lin Xuanji stood along the corridor of the villa, the faint lights shining over her.

She just stood there.

Lu Jinwen’s pupils contracted, he felt as though he had returned to that very first time they met in the temple all those years ago. She wore a red wool cloak, the color so striking as she stood behind him and shouted, “Hey, Mr Lu!”

Lu Jinwen ran over, opening his arms wide to pull her into his embrace.

Burying his face in her hair, he took many deep breaths to smell the sweet fragrance she emanated as he questioned frantically, “Where did you go? Where exactly did you go?”

He asked her the same question twice.

Lin Xuanji felt a twinge in her heart, he hugged her so tightly, exerting so much force that she would almost become one with him.

Just earlier, she had stood by the door, watching him look for her so anxiously.

Lin Xuanji slowly lifted her hand, hugging his trim waist. “It was cold outside so I came in.”

Oh, so it was like that.

But Lu Jinwen’s heart slowly turned cold, he suddenly felt his heart aching so much.

“The next time I look for you, you must appear in front of me at the fastest speed possible, understood? If I can’t find you, I don’t know what I would do. I feel like I will lose all self-control.”

Lin Xuanji nodded her head. “Mm.”

Butler Ye reminded him, “Sir, it’s time to leave.”

Tang Mo’er stood by the door, lifting her eyes to look on. A limousine parked on the lawn while Butler Ye stood there, waiting for him.

Tang Mo’er gasped. “Dad, where are you going?”

Lu Jinwen let go of Lin Xuanji. “I’m going for a business trip, I’ll be back really soon.”

Tang Mo’er’s eyes watered. Dad was even thinking of leaving at such a time? Once he left this time, it would be the biggest regret in this lifetime. He wouldn’t be able to accompany Xuanji in her last moments.

Tang Mo’er turned her head.

Lu Jinwen lifted his hand, ruffling Lin Xuanji’s hair as he reminded, “Remember to rest well, I’ll be back in two days. Wait for me to be back, we won’t ever have to part again after this trip.”

Lin Xuanji’s lashes fluttered, she nodded her head. “Mm, go ahead.”

Lu Jinwen turned around.

Before he could even stretch his legs out, his sleeve was tugged on by a dainty hand.

Lin Xuanji pulled his sleeve.

“Why? You can’t bear to let me leave?” Lu Jinwen turned around to look at her, he was visibly delighted at her reaction.

Lin Xuanji went in front, coming up on her tiptoes to kiss him on the lips. After giving him a kiss, she came back down on the ground. “Goodbye kiss.”

It was a goodbye kiss.

Lu Jinwen smiled, grasping her waist with his muscular arm, leaning forward to kiss her lips affectionately. He moved his tongue into her mouth, exploring every corner of it.

Her lips glistened after being kissed by him. Lu Jinwen nuzzled the tip of his nose against her face. “It’s rude if I don’t reciprocate. Mrs Lu, here’s your goodbye kiss.”

Lin Xuanji laughed gently. “Mr Lu, I guess we don’t owe each other anything then.”

Everything in this lifetime was all settled, none of them owed each other anything.

But the next moment, she felt something soft on her lips again. Lu Jinwen had kissed her once again.

Lin Xuanji froze, just looking at her.

He fixed his sharp yet doting gaze on her. “Now you owe me.”

“…”

“I kissed you once more so now you owe me a kiss.”

Lin Xuanji’s heart fluttered, she felt so loved inside and those sweet feelings almost overwhelmed her.

“I’m really leaving now. It’s cold outside, hurry up and go back inside the house.” Lu Jinwen let go of Lin Xuanji, turning around to get in the limousine.

Butler Ye opened the door and the limousine sped away after Lu Jinwen got in it.

He left.

Lin Xuanji stood along the corridor, continuing to watch as the limousine left. She watched as he left. Very quickly, her vision turned blank and she collapsed.

“Mom!”

Right before her eyes closed, she could see Mohan, Mo’er and Chenyi rushing towards her.

In the room.

Lin Xuanji gradually opened her eyes. She lay on the bed, in the last moments of her life. Looking beside her, her daughter and son were both accompanying her by her bedside.

“Mo’er.” Lin Xuanji stretched her arm out while calling Tang Mo’er’s name.

“Mom.” Tang Mo’er held Lin Xuanji’s hand, tears trickling down her face as she sobbed. “Mom, could you please… not leave?”

“Silly child, you’re now a mom yourself. You must not cry so frequently, understood?”

“Don’t…” Tang Mo’er shook her head vehemently. “With mom here, I’ll always be a child…”

“Mo’er.” Gu Mohan went in front, pulling Tang Mo’er into his warm embrace.

“Mohan.” Lin Xuanji held Gu Mohan’s hand, placing Tang Mo’er’s hand in his palm. “Mom no longer needs to worry about Mo’er now, since Mo’er has you. Mohan, Mom is going to hand Mo’er to you, you have to take good care of her.”

Gu Mohan nodded and said, “Mom, I’ll be sure to dote on her as if she’s a child, on your behalf.”

Lin Xuanji smiled. She was right about Gu Mohan, he was a man who knew her exact thoughts. This man was self-disciplined and knew how to love the people around him. With him around, she would never be worried about Mo’er.

Lin Xuanji lifted her head, looking in Tang Chenyi’s direction. “Chenyi.”

Tang Chenyi had been standing by her bedside, but compared to Tang Mo’er who kept sobbing, he appeared more calm and composed.

“Mom.” Tang Chenyi held Lin Xuanji’s hand.

Lin Xuanji looked at Tang Chenyi worriedly. “Chenyi, Mom is the most worried about you. It’s not because you’re not powerful enough, but rather, because you’re too powerful. Those who are powerful are bound to cause harm to themselves. You most probably inherited your father’s personality traits.”

Tang Chenyi truly resembled Lu Jinwen, even exceeding him in some ways.

“But you’re a little different from your father. Your father seems really heartless and callous, but he’s been faithful all his life. He has that soft spot in his heart, but you on the other hand don’t know about love and affection.”

Lin Xuanji handed something to Tang Chenyi. “This is for you.”

Tang Chenyi lowered his eyes to see, it was a diamond ring.

“My Love. Chenyi, this is for the woman you love in the future.”

Lin Xuanji had founded DHA Diamonds and only designed one diamond ring in her entire lifetime. It was the One and Only Ring. The One and Only Ring was the testament to Gu Mohan and Tang Mo’er’s love.

Now Lin Xuanji had designed only one other diamond ring, named My Love. She had prepared it for the woman that Tang Chenyi would fall in love with in the future.

Hearing her words, Tang Chenyi’s eyes slowly turned red, and he accepted the diamond ring and nodded. “Mom, I’ll make sure to bring this ring with me everywhere I go.”
