Taking a few steps backward, she practically threw the tub over to him. “I did the laundry so now you’re responsible for hanging it.”

Hurried steps took her back to the small hut and she started to wash the vegetables. The heavy rain last night forced them to stay for a few more days, so they had to cook to feed themselves.

Moments later, Lu Yeming placed the tub down, picking up her underwear. It was pink and of a girly design. He lowered his eyes, looking at her.

“How do I hang this?”

Jun Xiqing lifted her head, seeing him hold her underwear. He really had no idea how to hang it, he hadn’t hung such… attire before. This man was dignified and constantly exuded an ethereal aura. No one would believe that he actually was hanging a female’s underwear here.

Flushing a deep crimson, Jun Xiqing quickly rushed over, snatching the underwear from him. “I’ll do it myself.”

Lu Yeming furrowed his brows. “You’re sure about hanging it here?”

“If you hang it here, everyone will know the color of your underwear.”

The clothesline was right in front of the wooden house, anyone who passed by could see it. The middle-aged ladies living there would be used to hanging all laundry outside but Jun Xiqing wasn’t going to do that!

Jun Xiqing quickly turned around, entering the house again as she hung the underwear at the back of the house. She could hear some heavy footsteps behind her, an oppressive presence followed right behind her.

Even without turning back, she knew it was Lu Yeming.

He followed behind her.

“So am I your husband or your elder brother?”

It was his voice, that distinct and magnetic voice.

Caught off guard, Jun Xiqing was momentarily speechless. Why did he ask about that?

Lu Yeming moved closer to her and they were separated only by the thin material of their clothing. It was an intimate position. It wasn’t as if they had lost their memories, the memories of last night were still vivid in their minds.

When she tiptoed to hang the laundry, her shirt lifted together and revealed her tiny waist, he saw all of that when he was by the door. His hand moved, his mind filled with the scenes of him holding her waist last night.

“You can sleep with your elder brother? You can straddle your elder brother’s waist?” He bent over, whispering those words in her ears.

Jun Xiqing quickly turned around, glaring at him. “Lu Yeming, that’s enough, stop it!”

Lu Yeming picked up her jaw. “Does it still hurt?”

Did he ask if it still hurt?

Bam. Jun Xiqing could feel her body temperature rising, now they were together in such a small space, it was too close.

With both hands on his chest, she tried to push him away. “If you really care about me, why did you still… bully me last night?”

“Bully? Didn’t I make you feel good last night?” he asked instead.

Jun Xiqing peeped inside the basket and saw the meat inside. “Auntie Shen, thank you for your kind intentions but we don’t deserve it.”

“Miss Jun, don’t be so polite. Just take it.”

Picking up the basket, Shen Chong passed it straight into Jun Xiqing’s hands. Shen Chong was a good looking young man, around the same age as Jun Xiqing. He looked at Jun Xiqing’s beautiful face, his eyes filled with admiration and warmth towards her.

“I really shouldn’t, even if I do take it, I don’t know how to cook,” Jun Xiqing rejected them once again.

Lu Yeming walked out of the house, noticing Shen Chong’s obvious infatuation towards Jun Xiqing. Furrowing his brows, he stood in front, pulling Jun Xiqing over and made her stand behind him.

“Auntie, thank you.” Lu Yeming thanked her politely.

“Ha, you’re welcome.” Auntie Shen smiled as she looked at Lu Yeming. “May I know where Miss Jun is from and her age? Has she been betrothed to anyone yet?”

Lu Yeming remained calm, he turned back to look at Jun Xiqing. “Head back inside first.”

Jun Xiqing nodded. “Okay.”

Turning around, she went back inside the house.

Lu Yeming then turned back, looking at Auntie Shen, he said, “Don’t try to find out anything more about her, she’s not someone you should be messing with. Moreover, she’s already betrothed to someone.”

He didn’t have any expression on his face, but he was curt and straight to the point with a serious tone, making it extremely awkward for Auntie Shen. Though he wasn’t one who would frequently humiliate others, when he did, he was shockingly direct.

Auntie Shen’s face turned pale, she quickly tugged at Shen Chong’s sleeve and left. But Shen Chong continued looking back even as he left, looking in the direction that Jun Xiqing had gone. He wouldn’t give up and complained instead, “Mom, stop dragging me away. I still want to talk to Miss Jun…”

After the mother-son duo finally left, Lu Yeming turned around to head back inside the house. When he stepped inside, he noticed Jun Xiqing sitting there, she was in a daze. She had a basket in front of her, inside were stalks of washed leafy greens.

“Why are you staring into space? You really don’t know how to cook?” He raised his brows.

Silence.

To tell the truth, Jun Xiqing really did not know how to cook. As she had been living with Uncle Jun in the President’s residence since young, she had learned anything and everything… except culinary skills.

She really didn’t know how to cook at all.
