Lady Boss, Please Spoil Your Husband! Chapter 349

"Well," Daunting Spirit toughen himself up and narrowed his eyes in a challenging manner at White Bird. "Considering that he's still up and standing, I would've guessed none of those before me provided anything useful."
White Bird stared blankly at him. Her eyes void of any trace of emotions, making it incredibly difficult for him, or anyone for that matter, to discern what she's thinking.
Oh sh*t. Did he sounded too arrogant just now? Was that tone equivalent to a death sentence?
It may not for White Bird, but for these two not-so-gentle gentlemen beside him is.
"Care to repeat that, brat? Who do you think you're speaking to?"
"We need no one's charity work." Silent Death cocked his katana's blade on Daunting Spirit's chin. "If our boss desires it, Qilin's presence would permanently be erased. And so will you and your little group if you don't know how to hold your tongue back."
D*mn, these guys are hella nuts! Best not to aggravate them anymore. Though he keeps on saying that to himself, but words comes out automatically before he could process them.
That's why his elder sister and that woman calls him a troublemaker.
"You're clever," Lillie retracted her finger from his forehead and straightened up. "But still naive to think that you'll have a chance to leave here unscathed."
That was merely a threat to test the limit of the boy's bravery. Nothing but empty words.
Besides, he's young. So far, she didn't see anything that would make him pay for his life.
He said he has school after this? Well, color her surprise to know that he's quite the diligent student.
A shame. His future would've been brighter if he hadn't joined the Underworld. She could only watch and see how far he'll survive in this godforsaken side of society.

The tremors in Daunting Spirit's chest loosen up by a margin as White Bird drew back to her seat.
"Silent Death, Silver Dragon, withdraw your weapons and allow the poor boy to state his business without any discomfort."
Ah, so that guy was Silver Dragon. His identity couldn't be mistaken, with that silver, full-face mask shaped like a dragon and all.
He doesn't know anything about this man personally. His employer wasn't being specific.
He only said to cause a ruckus in White Bird's base to make the big boss come out, as well as the newest recruit of the Elders; Silver Dragon.
What he wants with him, he has no clue.
But as you've all probably understand by now, he didn't followed his employer's plan, and went ahead to accomplish his real mission.
Anyway, going back to the present, as if only withdrawing those weapons from him would completely remove his discomfort. Although, he wouldn't deny that it did decreased it.
Lillie relaxed her back on the chair's backrest and propped her cheek on her knuckles. She closes her eyes momentarily to relieve the slight sting.
In other people's perspective, it looks like she's in deep thoughts.
But Ethan and Song Mo Kun knew better.
Ethan knows that his wife wasn't feeling better still. She must've be feeling tired and sleepy right now.
Song Mo Kun thought that her eyes are acting up again. Triggering her red eyes causes drawbacks such as headache and blur of vision if used too long.
"Let's refrain from wasting anymore time, shall we? So, cut to the chase, tell me what you and your co-leader could offer in exchange for an alliance?"
Daunting Spirit obediently nodded. He cleared his throat and said, "My co-leader, Thrill Seeker and I were recently approached by an anonymous patron who ask for our services. They paid us quite the large sum of money to execute a certain mission..."

Lillie's eyebrow rose as he paused. "And this mission was?" She urged him.
Daunting Spirit sighed internally. Gods please, let this not be the cause of his death. "To impersonate White Bird."
"..."
"..."
Ethan and Song Mo Kun silently waited for Lillie's signal to slice this brat's neck or put a bullet in his brain.
This brat and his partner has done them a great deal of trouble and committed the gravest sin in the Underworld.
If White Bird didn't deal with her imposters, the Reapers will do it for her.
Do these children know what kind of danger they just jumped into?
Lillie remain unfazed. "Continue." She urged him, flicking her wrist.
Relief washed over Daunting Spirit at that single word. His chances of getting to live another day gain an altitude.

Awakening the Stars
In a world of mystical Gifts, the nation of Ophelia was once a harmonious land, governed by the four Courts and favored by the stars. Since its beginnings, the Ash, Terris, Zephyr, and Aquae Courts have allied firmly to serve their people, each bestowed with a power at birth by their ruling entity. Despite their differences, however, the unity of the people remained taut for many centuries. But alas, the balance was fated to tip. Those in authority have begun to fall to corruption and dominion. Welcome to the Upward Bound System, V.3
They say third times the charm. With every iteration we improve. When the System came to Earth, it changed everything. It is a grand thing used by gods and men alike. What had once been fantasy was now a reality. People believed and so that belief gave ideas the strength to manifest. "Welcome Founder of the SCP Foundation" It stirred the gods from their deathly slumbers. Stirred by an almost mechanical voice promising them new life, and followers as countless as the stars. All it asked of them was for their help. Help with what though? The old gods, the forgotten gods, and the new gods drew breath, and then made their voices heard. On a day like any other Dante was home from college watching the Presidential inauguration with his parents. Little did they know that this day would turn out to be anything but ordinary. That this was the day everything changed. Dante is not your typical MC. While he has a troubled past, he looks forward to the future. Follow Dante, his parents, and the new friends he meets along the way as they traverse this new system world. However, before they can explore this new world they must complete, the Tutorial. (Please note: This tutorial will be part of the story. Rather than a skim of the information, you will get to experience it in depth. So the tutorial will last a good while.) A much slower style of LitRpg than what you would normally find. Follow Dante and his party as they find their world taken over by the system. Welcome people of Earth to the Upward Bound System!... With the system's arrival so too does great danger come... The tools of your survival shall be granted upon you by the system... Please note, I don't own the art. Please enjoy the story, and if you don't please leave a comment and I will try to improve the story for you. This is the second version of this story, so feel free to check out the original and compare the two.

Dreamland
Dolores is a lucky girl with a high-level avatar in a very popular game. She did not level it up; she got it through some fortunate circumstances. She is not interested in fighting and levelling; all she wants is to have some fun and follow her own fantasies. If only there would not be all those idiots who intend to kill her, capture her, or simply use her. And those flaws in the game! Wait, what? Those pesky game characters now appear in the real world? And they can do magic? How did this happen? Adding to her troubles, her crush does not even look at her. As Dolores tries only to survive and hide between 'normal' people, she encounters stranger and stranger things that force her hand and, in the end, she has the answers to a lot of questions. It is a slow-developing story. I had a lot of fun writing it and hope to share it with you, dear reader if you also enjoy it. On the other hand, putting it in an acceptable form requires much work and energy. I intend to bring it to its end and not let it unfinished. I hate it when I encounter unfinished stories, so I understand the feeling. This is not a classical isekai story. There is travel between the two worlds, and the game world seems to be so very real... well, this is one plot of the story. This is not an MMORP game story. Part of the action happens inside a game world, but it is treated as a real world. Updates on a weekly basis, at least Monday and Friday, with additional bonus chapters as time and energy allow. Cover art: White Flower as A Dark Fairy by Darkrealmsmaiden Yolanda gracefully allowed me to use her dark fairy as cover. There are many more beautiful works of art to be discovered at her site: https://www.deviantart.com/darkrealmsmaiden Additional Grammar Trigger Warning: As a non-native speaker, I do my best. Unfortunately, this is not enough for people with a low tolerance for warped sentences and... they may want to skip the story :( Well, you have been warned :) I appreciate it when a reader points out a sentence that needs rework. That may spare a follow-up reader some pain and helps me understand where my English grammar problems are. * We thought we made the best game in Earth's history We thought we made the best interfaces ever seen We thought we made it - lifelike But it far exceeded our expectations. Dolores, I hope you're happy now. I hope you're alive now...

The Meaning of Life
It all started with that voice. One day, a slightly psychopathic teenager named Krey heard a voice in his dream. A goddess's request, a new world, the legacies of the Divine realms, the never-ending storms in the world of Salratia. With the carefree thought of "I shall live as I please~!", Krey sets out to begin his 'otaku' dream. But it is not smooth sailing. Troublesome divine entities, mortal politics and the relationship with his new companions. How could he, a former assassin and former odd-jobs part-time high school student worker (not to mention an otaku), a perfect example of a loner (though he himself doesn't seem to realize it) be able to handle this problem? "Ei! Whatever, there's still a few more centuries! I'll go travel the world in peace!" [Author here. This is my first time writing a story in RRL. Criticism is very welcome as long as it is educational and has some tips and bits of advice for me. I am still learning]
