Lady Boss, Please Spoil Your Husband! Chapter 365

"Ah, I forgot my charger." Lillie muttered to herself. Her phone died so she was looking for her charger, only to later realized she forgot it at her office.
Hm, this had her thinking to buy another one or two.
Good thing modern technology is so advanced now and phones aren't the only devices used for communication.
The stoplight ahead of her turned red. Stopping, she used this chance to contact her Senior Brother.
Lillie tapped her car's infotainment and dialed Death's number.
It took him seven rings before he picked up.
[Yow, Junior Sis! Bit busy right now, what do you want—you f*cking bastard! You almost hit me with that!]
[That's the f*cking point, you dimwit!]
[Dim—?! Oho, you just earned yourself a f*cking ticket straight to hell because of that!]
"Is this not a good time?" Lillie could hear fighting, screaming, and gunshots in the background. Her Senior Brother's probably on cleaning duty again today.
The stoplight finally turned green and she made a right turn.
[Nah, it's cool. What do you need, sis?]
"I want you to look for someone's personal records."
[—you rude a*s motherf*cker! Can't you see I'm on the phone?!]
[Then talk to your b*tch later and fight me—urgh!]
[Shut up, a*shole, I'm talking to my sister! And how dare you address her with that degrading name!]
Lillie heard a pained yelp.
[Sorry, sis. So, you want me to look for someone? Yeah sure, I could definitely do that. Who's this person?]
"Wei Fang."
[Your son of a b*tch of an ex-crush?]
Lillie let out a long-suffering sigh, rubbing her temple with one hand. "I met him tonight over dinner—"
[You had dinner with that psycho?! All by yourself?! Girl, I thought you're smarter than this.]

[Oof, that doesn't sound like a smart move.] A male's voice chime in.
[Have you ever heard of the word privacy? Jesus, man, stop eavesdropping!]
"—he claimed he's a Reaper, and he might be in a stable or high ranking." Lillie ignored the irrelevant remarks. "Also, I wasn't exactly thrilled about having dinner with him, dad wanted me to end this issue between us, and have closure."
[So, he'll finally leave you alone?]
"That's what he promised me, but I doubt it."
[Hm, that's good. Don't trust that bastard.] Death paused to register her words. [Wait, he admitted to you that he's a Demon?]
[Who admitted what?!]
[Boy, I—! Why are you so hard to kill?!]
[If you had focused on me first, then I wouldn't be probing on your convo like this.]
[Oh, you right, you right. Hold on a sec, sis. I'll finish him up first.]
"Go on." Lillie kept her eyes on the road, sighing again as she waited for a few seconds.
[Alright, continue.]
"We talked about how he knew of 'that' incident. He knew that Liu Sheng was a fake Vermillion Dragon. Him being a Reaper makes sense. But I'm still suspicious, so I ask you to look for his profile at the Reapers' archives to verify him claims."
[I'll see what I can do. The higher ups are being a bit strict with me lately, don't know why though.]
"You still ask? Isn't your recklessness enough reason for them to be strict with you?"
[Hey, I'm not reckless. I just have a lot of energy.]
"Sure, whatever let you sleep at night."
[Is that how you repay my generosity? By sassing me relentlessly?]
Not that it makes a difference, really. She's always sassing him.

"I'll bake you a cake and give you a jar of wine."
[Do you know how much I love and treasure you?]
"I know." The corner of her lips lifted into a soft smile. "Make sure you give me a heads up first before you come at the villa."
[Duly noted, ma'am.] He cheekily replied, practically hearing the grin in his voice.
"Thank you, Senior Brother, I'll see you soon." Lillie ended the call.
Wondering how he'll react when he finds out she's pregnant? She can't wait to let her family know.
Oh, speaking of which, Ethan would probably go crazy from worry with how late it's already been and she's not home yet.
She should call him.
But before she could, her eyes caught a shadow leaping in front of her car in an incredible, almost inhuman, speed.
Car wheels produced a deafening screech as it was forced to grind on the pavement from the abrupt halt.
Despite that, there was still a harsh collision.
Lillie blinks, assessing what just happened. She hit something...or someone.
Opening the door to check it out, she immediately heard a pained groan.
"Ughhh..."
Yep, definitely someone.
"You're still alive?" She blankly asked. The road was quiet, and there wasn't a soul around. Lillie has the choice to let him die and easily cover up the crime scene.
"...me..."
"What?" Lillie went closer and crouched near the bloodied man. All of that blood couldn't have come from colliding on her car.
Owing to the fact that it seems like the blood doesn't belong to him. The only visible wounds he has were a graze on his cheek and a bleeding forehead.
Considering the harsh hit he got from her car, Lillie roughly calculated that he probably have a concussion and some fractured bones.
"...they're...after me." In his languid state, the man said to her. "Help me...now. This...this is your...fault."
Who's the one appearing out of nowhere and running towards the middle of the road?!
Regardless on whose fault it was or why he was covered in blood that wasn't his, Lillie's still held accountable for the majority of the bloodied man's injuries.
It may be against Lillie's better judgement, she helped the poor—yet rather demanding and rude—man, hoisted him up with her shoulders, and lay him not-so-gently on the backseat.
"—on't...take me to the...hospital."
"To the hospital it is." Lillie pretended she didn't heard him properly out of spite. Hm, she was being so generous with people today.
If it was any normal day, she would've already thrown him off the bridge, or let those people chasing him catch him.
Must be his lucky day.
She just need to quickly drop him off the hospital then she'll be on her merry way home.
