Chapter 1011: The Sales Department’s Recruitment Method
April 27th, Friday…
“BP verification competition? What is this?!”
Pei Qian sipped his coffee as he read the discussion on various forums in Fish-Catching Internet Cafe. He fell into a daze once again.
Wasn’t it supposed to be an entertainment competition for the veteran DGE members?
Is this how you entertain people?!
Pei Qian had thought that this event was no big deal. They had only invited the old team members to come back for an entertainment competition and bring popularity to Bunny Tail’s live-stream. However, he now realized that it was not the case!
“I fell for Chen Yufeng’s trick!”
Pei Qian was speechless. It was all Chen Yufeng’s fault for only writing a ‘special mode’ during the publicity. If he had written the details of the rules, he would not have allowed it to pass!
Pei Qian happened to be busy at school yesterday and did not pay attention to Bunny Tail live-stream. It was only this morning when he came to Fish-Catching Internet Cafe for breakfast and coffee that he took out his cell phone to browse the forum.
Then, he realized that he had been tricked!
Last night, various discussions about the “BP verification competition” took up many hot posts on the game forums. The video recording on Aili Island’s website also received a lot of views.
What made people even more speechless was that many people had downloaded Bunny Tail live-streams just so that they could watch the new ‘BP verification competition’ live!
If not for the fact that the rule of ‘mandatory one hour’ for Bunny Tail Live-Stream was restricting the gamers, Pei Qian would have collapsed again.
“This event plan is really a failure! However… it’s not irreversible.”
“Even though many people are saying that they want to download Bunny Tail Live-Stream again and hang it up every day, most of them won’t be able to persevere.”
“The popularity of this ‘BP verification competition’ will slowly pass. At that time, the audience will still be dissuaded by the rule of ‘compulsory one hour’ from Bunny Tail Live-Stream.”
“Hmm, since that’s the case, let’s not give Bunny Tail live-streaming resources for now. Let its popularity cool down a little.”
“Speaking of which… I wonder how Tian Mo is doing.”
“It’s been more than a week. He should have memorized everything ven if he’s stupid, right?”
Pei Qian looked at his calendar. The last time he saw Tian Mo was last Thursday.
After that, Pei Qian looked for Liang Qingfan and briefly explained the requirements of the experience shop, asking him to choose the location of the first experience shop.
Apart from that, Pei Qian also made other arrangements to help Tian Mo prepare a place for “practice”.
It was about time to check his homework.
In fact, Pei Qian was a little uncertain. Should he hope that Tian Mo would be able to memorize these principles or that he would not be able to?
If Tian Mo had not memorized it, it meant that either Tian Mo’s IQ was low to a certain extent or Tian Mo was not concerned about his work at all. That seemed to be good news.
However, if Tian Mo had memorized it, it meant that Tian Mo was more obedient. It would be easier to control him after he started work in the future. There would not be any serious deviation.
After some thought, Pei Qian decided to lean towards the latter.
He strolled to the office of the advertising and marketing department.

The employees of the Advertisement and marketing department were slacking off. Some were playing games, some were watching dramas, and they looked rather comfortable.
Most of them were so focused that they did not notice Boss Pei’s arrival at all. Even if they did, they would only smile and nod. They would not look ashamed because they were playing games.
Pei Qian was very satisfied with this and kept nodding.
However, Pei Qian was instantly infuriated when he saw Meng Chang’s empty workstation.
This Meng Chang disappeared after messing things up!
How ridiculous!
Previously, Pei Qian trusted Meng Chang so much that he was fully in charge of the publicity for Mission and Choice. He did not even ask too much about it. Meng Chang also patted his chest and guaranteed that there would be no problem.
The result?
Not only did Mission and Choice not fail, but it also became popular. Meng Chang, the first-in-charge, simply pretended to be dead and did not even come to work!
Pei Qian was speechless. He really wanted to call him over and scold him.
However, on further thought, it was almost the end of the month. Meng Chang would have to come to his office to check the commission for this month sooner or later. It would not be too late to reprimand him then. There was no need to be in a hurry. It would make him look like he was very impatient.
At that thought, Pei Qian suppressed his anger and looked at Tian Mo’s desk.
Tian Mo was in a daze at his desk, looking bored.
After being in a daze for a while, he took out his small notebook and recited the ‘Sales Department Rules’ that Boss Pei had given him. Then, he fell into a daze again.
Obviously, he had memorized it long ago. However, he had nothing to do after memorizing it. He could only stare blankly.
Pei Qian walked to his desk and cleared his throat. “How is it? Have you memorized the rules?”
When Tian Mo saw that it was Boss Pei, his face revealed the joy of being released. He immediately stood up. “I’ve memorized it! Boss Pei, I’ll recite it for you now…”
Pei Qian immediately raised his hand to stop him. “No need, I trust you.”
Tian Mo :”…”
He had already memorized all the contents and was waiting to perform well in front of Boss Pei. However, he did not have the chance to do so. That was very awkward.
Pei Qian waved at him. “Since you’ve memorized it, follow me. We can enter the next stage.”
…
After leaving Shenhua View, Little Sun drove the two of them to a nearby shopping mall.
Tian Mo followed Boss Pei in confusion. The two of them took the elevator to the fifth floor of the shopping mall.
He took a quick look around and found that he was surrounded by shops selling various digital products. There were shops selling various branded cell phones, sound systems, television, projectors, and computer brands.
One of the shops was locked. It looked like it was not open for business.
Pei Qian brought Tian Mo to the door, took out the key from his pocket, opened the door, and handed it to Tian Mo.
Tian Mo was stunned. “Boss Pei, this…”
Pei Qian smiled. “You will be selling stuff here in the future. Train your skills first. Once you’re done, there will be a bigger stage waiting for you to perform!”
Tian Mo looked up and noticed that there was a logo of Tengda Corporation and Otto Technologies on the sign above the shop.

The shop was divided into two parts going further in: There was a small hall outside, and the light coming through the floor-to-ceiling windows was very good. On one side was a transparent glass cabinet. The cabinet contained various products related to Tengda, such as Fully-Automated Intelligent Bickering Machine, Otto cell phones, physical game CDs, game figurines, and so on. On the other side was a sofa, a big television, and a Fully-Automated Intelligent Bickering Machine that was in use. It looked like it was for customers to rest and play.
Apart from this small hall, there was also a portion of space inside. The lighting was slightly dim. There were a total of six small televisions and six single sofas. There were three on each side. It was probably the game testing area.
That was where Pei Qian arranged for Tian Mo to “train”.
Pei Qian had already arranged for Liang Qingfan to set up a large-scale experience shop. However, the location and renovation of such a large-scale shop would definitely not be done in a short period of time.
What’s more, Pei Qian had also considered the possibility that something might go wrong if he allowed Tian Mo to take over this huge experience store that took up thousands of square meters.
What if Tian Mo was not proficient in dissuading customers? What if a large number of customers flooded in and all sorts of goods were sold out?
Pei Qian decided to rent a small shop in the nearby shopping mall during the renovation of this large-scale experience shop. He would place some Tengda products inside and let Tian Mo practice his skills in dissuading customers.
“I’ll leave this place in your care from now on. Do you know what you should do when customers come?” Pei Qian asked.
Tian Mo immediately nodded. “Understood!”
“Alright, I’ll test you.” Pei Qian casually took an Otto E1 cell phone from the side. “I want to buy this cell phone now. What should you say?”
Tian Mo paused for a moment. “Er… I should be honest about the various parameters of this cell phone. I should talk about the pros and cons. I can’t deliberately induce customers to buy it. Let customers make their own decisions.”
Pei Qian shook his head. “No, you should tell the customers directly that this is an old model from more than a year ago. You don’t recommend them to buy it at all. Why introduce the parameters for something that is not recommended at all?”
Tian Mo opened his mouth slightly and was speechless.
What was the point of placing something that was not recommended on the shelves?
Pei Qian casually took a physical disc from Repent and be Saved. “What if I want to buy this game?”
Tian Mo thought for a moment and said, “Er… I’ll tell the customers truthfully that this game is a highly difficult action game. I would not recommend ordinary people to try it.”
Pei Qian nodded slightly. “Yes, not bad. However, you also have to tell the customers that there will be all sorts of discounts when buying digital versions online. It will be much cheaper and more cost-effective. Even if they want to buy it, they should definitely not buy it in physical shops.”
“What if customers don’t have any experience in action games but refuse to listen to advice and insist on buying?”
Tian Mo was a little confused. “Then… then sell it to him?”
Pei Qian shook his head. “Wrong. You should let him try the demo over there first. He will naturally give up once he dies enough times.”
Tian Mo scratched his head, looking extremely confused.
Pei Qian sighed slightly. “I can tell. You might have memorized all the rules, but it’s rote learning. You don’t really understand them, and you haven’t been able to draw inferences.”
“Therefore, continue working hard!”
Tian Mo looked guilty. “Yes…”
Pei Qian sat down on the sofa at the side and said, “That’s right, you can start hiring a few employees for the sales department. You won’t be able to take care of such a huge store by yourself.”
Tian Mo immediately nodded. “Alright, Boss Pei. What should I do? Should I post a position on the recruitment website?”
Pei Qian immediately shook his head. “No, no, no. If you want to post a position on the recruitment website, I can get the HR department to do it. Do I need to tell you?”
“How about this? You can look for a few of your classmates or childhood friends. You can look for primary school, middle school, and high school classmates. However, the only requirement is that their educational qualifications cannot be higher than yours.”
Tian Mo: “Huh?”
“Their qualifications cannot be higher than mine?”
“But I just graduated from high school…”
Tian Mo thought about it. He could not say that there were no students who were less educated than him, but there would not be many.
More importantly, would these people be able to help? Would they be able to complete the task given by Boss Pei?
Pei Qian cleared his throat and explained, “As the saying goes, brothers in war, father and son in battle. I’m afraid that you won’t be able to cooperate well with strangers. It’s best to recruit old classmates or childhood friends who are close to you. That would make it easier for you to form a team.”
“These people cannot be more outstanding than you because each department can only have one brain. If you say one thing and the other person says another, who should the rest of the department listen to?”
“That’s why you should recruit people according to this standard. Once you do, inform the HR department and get in directly. You don’t have to go through those tedious procedures.”
Pei Qian did not want the employees he recruited to be smarter than Tian Mo. Then, they would give Tian Mo advice and lead him astray.
If that was the case, wouldn’t all his hard work in training Tian Mo be wasted?
The previous department recruitment was all done in unison. Pei Qian might have worked hard but the quality of the people recruited through written exams and interviews was still too high.
Thus, Pei Qian wanted to try out ‘cronyism’ in the sales department and see how it would turn out.
“Alright, that’s all for now. Take care of this shop while looking for manpower. Let me know if you need anything.”
“Oh right, take this business card.”
Tian Mo took the name card and looked at it, confused.
Pei Qian explained, “This is a stylist. Make an appointment with him one day and ask him to help you dress up and put on a few sets of clothes. The company will pay for all expenses. You don’t have to think about saving money. Just spend as much as you can.”
“You have to take note of your image as a salesperson.”
“Oh, the only requirement is that you don’t need to wear a formal suit, otherwise, it doesn’t matter how you dress.”
