Phoenix Phire Chapter 140

Nix held the small white cube in his hand. "All that power in this little thing?"
Semmi nodded. "Apparently so. Use your thumb to activate it and then select the stat you want to add.
[Do you wish to add Agility to your list of Physical Statistics?]
"Yes," Nix added agility, even though he couldn't currently display his stats. Semmi recommended that all the former Gladis Hub players do so. As lifestyle players that had been given dexterity rather than agility. Dexterity was extremely important to crafters.
"In your case, dexterity replaced agility in determining damage output. There's a substantial dps penalty involved in not having the agility statistic." Semmi watched him for a moment. "You shouldn't notice a difference in how you feel. This reward will set your agility to 15. Thankfully, you can use gear to boost it up."
"Thanks, Sem." Nix waited until she left his houseboat before turning back toward his other guest.
The blonde-haired Scorched Earth Sniper had her hair up in a neat bun and was dressed in a blue tank top and shorts. "Are you moving slow on purpose because I'm underdressed?"
Nix laughed, "of course." He had been working on her armor when Semmi stopped by. Darsi had received a set of 'evolving armor' from her hard work at the Embassy. The only problem was the leather armor had a metallic coating that was easy to spot.
"Didn't realize you could make Camouflage Nix." Darsi watched him work, she remembered how calm he had been when she opened his stasis capsule at the Gladis Corp facility.
"It's just a combination of greens, browns, and reds." True to his word, Nix had pushed Inferno and cleared 6.2 and 6.3 in Mermaid City. He had the idea of cloth overlays when Darsi complained that her awesome new armor looked like a "mirror."
Nix held it up and showed her the finished product. "This is only for the upper piece if it works out I'll do the same with the lower."
Camouflage Overlay
Unknown Effect
Description: A mix of colors
specifically suited to blending in.
Darsi clapped excitedly. As a crafter, she knew that making the 'recipe' was the hardest part. After the prototype was completed, he could make them very quickly.

Nix held her armor in his hands, "you're right. This is some bright shit."
Silver Mountain Armor [Evolving Set]
Medium Amor: Unique
Description: Lightweight armor that improves speed,
agility, and perception.
+10 Agility
+10 Perception
+10 Speed.
Nix took a few minutes to carefully fit the overlay. He smiled at the finished product and handed it back to Darsi. "What do you think?"

Darsi stared at the changes the overlay had made. "This is really something Nix. The overlay fused with the armor."
"I didn't see that part coming, but I'm still pleased with the results." Nix took a few minutes to complete the set and then handed her the finished product.
/Inferno: Nix: Where you at Sem?
/Inferno: Semmi: Jun Li and I are about to check out Haven.
/Inferno: Nix: Want some company?
/Inferno: Jun Li: Sure!
Nix entered the Embassy and walked through the 70th-floor entry to the Parliament. A white-haired Ain'Dhassi was waiting outside the Inferno Guild Office.
"You're a difficult man to get in touch with Guild Leader Nix." Del Tali offered him a polite smile. She was wearing a white long-sleeved shirt and brown leggings.
Nix nodded in agreement. "Most people just give up and leave me alone after a few days."
Del seemed to find his statement amusing, her smile widening. "The key to finding you is perseverance."
"That's one word for it." He opened the door and gestured her in. "Just call me Nix."
Nix took a seat on the couch after moving the folded blanket and pillow to a nearby chair.
/Inferno: Nix: Del Tali is in the Guild Office, do not exit or enter Haven until she leaves.
/Inferno: Jun Li: Okay Nix, take your time.
Del joined him on the couch, her blue eyes looking around the office. "Someone sleeps on this couch?"
Nix shrugged, "maybe. What can I do for you, Del?"
"I wanted to thank you for backing me on my last two dockets." Del's voice had a silky smooth quality to it that made it pleasant to listen to.

"No need for thanks. I vote according to Inferno's Agenda."
"That may be true, but Ain'Dhassi all over Oasis now know your name. I daresay you could make a home for yourself among us."
"I'd stick out too much. That's not really my thing." Nix found it difficult to relax in the Ice Dhassi's presences. The memory of flashing swords kept reminding him of how deadly she was.
"I just want to get to know the Guild Leader of Inferno a bit better. Want to play a small game?"
"Cards? I only know one."
"What are cards?"
Nix shrugged, "never mind. What do you have in mind?"
"I'll make a few guesses about you. If I'm right you tell me a bit more. If I"m wrong, then you correct me to close the topic."
Nix smiled pleasantly. "I'll play, but only as long as you follow the same rules."
Del nodded. "It's a deal. May I start?"
Nix nodded. "Please do."
"You started with nothing but because of a talent for Fire you were able to quickly rise to power." Del had obviously heard about the courtyard incident where he had ignited his aura.
Nix cursed himself for showing his flames. "Wrong. I started as a Tailor and became wealthy as a result of those skills." The statement was accurate enough that he felt like he was within the rules.
Del raised one white eyebrow. "A Tailor?" Her tone showed that she was doubtful.
"Fraid so. My turn. " Nix focused on the Ain Dhassi. "You're a swordmaster."
Absolute shock flashed in her blue eyes, before quickly being covered. "Swordmaster? Assuredly not, I follow the path of the bow."
Nix considered the answer for a moment, she hadn't even carried a bow on her night excursion. "Get the f*ck out."
Del's face registered surprise when Nix stood and gestured toward the door. "I apologize if I've offended you Nix."
Nix took a seat as his desk and pointed toward the door. "I'm not offended. I just don't have time for lies. I did say I'd only play if you followed the same rules."
The Ain'Dhassi wanted to appear indignant but she wasn't able to manage it. "Really? A Tailor? You weren't following the rules either!"
"No? Have any armor on you? Doesn't have to be anything fancy."
Del paused at the request but then handed him some basic ranger armor. Was there something about her that suggested the sword instead of the bow? Her sword abilities were her trump card.
Nix sent her a friend request and then picked up the armor to examine it.
Basic Armor [Ranger Only]
Leather Armor: Common
Armor Class: 200
+ 50 to all Ranger Skills
+30 to Agility
+30 to Perception
+30 to Speed
Nix kept a straight face while he looked at the armor. He quickly linked it in guild chat.
/Inferno: Jun Li: That's basic armor?
/Inferno: Semmi: We need to get our crafters some Oasis recipes.
/Inferno: Sharl: + 200 AC? That's tank armor!
/Inferno: Ronnie: I want it!
/Inferno: Pon: If that's basic gear, what's their high-end gear look like?
He quickly set up a queue to make a custom overlay for the armor.
[Camaflage Overlay] [Basic Armor Ranger] [Forest Camouflage Clothe] [Fish Line Thread]
Nix was tempted to experiment by adding Legendary leather to the queue but decided this should be enough to impress her. He crafted the custom overlay and started putting it in place. After a few minutes, he finished and handed it back to her. "See? Tailor."
Forest Armor [Ranger Only]
Leather Armor: Unique
Armor Class: 200

percent due to your outline being heavily obscured.
"Nix..." Del's pale featured were flushed as she turned the armor over in her hands. The overlay had fused with the armor. "This was just basic amor."
"Yeah. As I said, I'm a Tailor. Now get the f*ck out. You've wasted enough of my time."

The Systems of the Multiverse - A Guide for the Multiversal Traveler
The Systems of the Multiverse have their issues. I, an observer from outside the multiverse have made it into my mission to tell you, the multiversal traveler about those issues and dangers. This is a relatively low effort NaNoWriMo and Writhathon project. I want to test myself if I can manage 55k words in a month, likely updating every single day until the end. This story is told in the form of an in universe book. Well, I say story... While this definetly won't be great, I still hope it will be enjoyable. I do my best to avoid grammar mistakes and spelling issues, but won't promise anything. Corrections are welcome, this is also an excercise to improve my writing from a technical standpoint. Not from a worldbuilding and character standpoint however, for that you need time. Oh, the keyboards (and computers) that the observer destroys are not real and only exists in story to have an excuse to easily end this story at the end of NaNoWriMo. I also personally like reading LitRPG stories, so this isn't meant to hate them. It might come over that way, but many of those issues are simply fun to think about: what would really happen if the world is so, seen through a lease of negativity :-) [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
