Wind stared at his stats, he now possessed lockpick? "Holy ... we're sharing skills Sem.."
Semmi quickly read through the abilities of the Gemini Thief. "Let's focus on three attacks Wind, First Strike, Critical Chain, and Unbalance. Study them for a moment."
First Strike
The Gemini Thief's
first attack is always a critical hit.

Critical Chain [Thief Bond Ability]

Unbalance Chain [Thief Bond Ability]

swap places and stun the target.
Stacks up to 5x.
/Alpha Team: Wind: Open up with First strike and then we'll try and extend it.
/Alpha Team: Semmi: We'll have to keep an eye out for random crits or stuns and try to chain them.
/Alpha Team: Wind: Understood I usually crit a few times a fight, depending on positioning and luck.
/Alpha Team: Semmi: Same here. Don't miss the dance when the music starts.
/Alpha Team: Wind: Huh?
/Alpha Team: Semmi: I am trying for a cool catchphrase.
/Alpha Team: Wind: Right... Keep at it, Sem.
/Alpha Team: Semmi: Fajii, Pon? Need any reviewing?
/Alpha Team: Pon: No, it's only one mob.
/Alpha Team: Fajii: Ready.
/Alpha Team: Nix: I can't fight guys, if we get in a bind I'll use CC, but I prefer not to.
"Do not worry, I will ensure our success." Eron's smooth voice flowed with strength and confidence, he radiated more power than anyone. The black fox spoke quietly from Fajii's shoulder. "I am ready also."
/Alpha Team: Semmi: On me.
The scout moved closer to the alter, Wind shadowed her movement while Fajii and Pon stayed back with Nix.
[First Strike]
Semmi has scored a critical hit on Priestess Elune.
Wind waited until his ability lit up then he activated it.

[Bale Fire]
Pon has critically wounded Priestess Elune, she has admitted her defeat and surrendered.
/Alpha Team: Nix: Stop...attacking.
/Alpha Team: Pon: The f*ck were you two doing? That Critical chain is complete bullshit.
Wind high fived Semmi, both of the thieves were grinning.
/Alpha Team: Semmi: That Gemini chain effect is bad-ass.
/Alpha Team: Wind: I've never crit so many times in one fight before.
/Alpha Team: Semmi: Notice how Pon jumped in there for the kill shot? Lame...
Nix approached the Priestess who was kneeling on the altar. "I'm Nix, the Guild Leader of Inferno. I intend to use this temple to rank up. I mean no disrespect."
The woman turned slowly toward them, there was a collective gasp of astonishment. Elune wore a common blue Priestess robe, nothing else about her was normal. The right side of her face appeared to be Ain'Dhassi, while the left side of her face was darker like the Su'Dhassi. This oddity extended to her entire body as was evidenced by one dark hand and one pale hand carefully clasped in front of her.

She extended a hand toward Nix, only to be intercepted by Fajii. Elune stared at her with two different color eyes, one dark and the other pale blue. "I mean him no harm. I can ease his discomfort a bit."
Fajii shook her head and helped Nix onto the altar.
Elune watched them with a curious expression. "If you plan on ranking up here, this temple will be torn apart despite how strong it looks."
Nix grimaced slightly and lay back on the hard stone. "I'll take that chance."
Elune moved toward the altar only to be intercepted by Fajii again. The Aquarion had summoned her trident and pointed it at the Gemini Priestess. "You will step back, or I will deal with you." Her words were quiet like always, but her intent chilled the air.
Semmi glanced at Wind and Pon, both of them were staring with their mouths hanging open. The normally sweet Fajii was picking a fight?
Elune bowed deeply, "activate the altar and the temple will be strengthened by the power that resides in it. The Lord of this Temple used this very room to rank up when she was still alive."
/Alpha Team: Semmi: What do you want us to do during this Nix? Is this something we can even survive?
The altar was set in a large circular room about 30 meters in diameter. There were four archways that were accompanied by long hallways that led up toward the surface. The outside of the room was bordered by a hallway that extended completely around. The roaming mobs would patrol and sometimes enter rooms randomly.
/Alpha Team: Pon: Releasing so much power, will definitely attract attention.
/Alpha Team: Wind: If what the Priestess says is true, then the structure can be strengthened from the altar. We can duck behind the walls for cover and help with any mobs that try to enter.
/Alpha Team: Nix: There are four entrances and only three of you. Fajii will be assisting me.
Nix met the eyes of Elune, he wasn't bothered by the different colors. "Are there one of these halls less likely to have patrols?"
Elune nodded and pointed to the North entrance. "That leads directly to the sanctuary, only I reside there."
/Alpha Team: Nix: Opinions?
/Alpha Team: Fajii: Let's activate the altar, if she isn't telling the truth I will find her after.
/Alpha Team: Semmi: Let's do it.
/Alpha Team: Wind: I'm not inclined to trust someone who we were just fighting. It's like Fajii said, we can always deal with her.
/Alpha Team: Pon: Do it then. I want to scorch shit.
Fajii stared at the Priestess. "You cannot stay. You will wait in your sanctuary. If we see you during the fight, we'll kill you without asking why you are here."
Nix waited while Elune exited the room through the North archway.
Semmi exited through the southern arch and immediately stepped to one side.
/Alpha Team: Semmi: I'll take the south exit, we'll play it by ear and make adjustments as we go.
/Alpha Team: Pon: I've got the west exit.
/Alpha Team Wind: That leaves east for me. Call out if you need help.
/Alpha Team: Nix: Okay. Let's go.
The moment Nix lay on the altar, a blinking icon appeared on his hud. He had been ignoring it during the conversation, but now activated it.
[Gemini Altar: Unattached]
1) Sacrifice
2) Drain Power
3) Enhanced Temple Structure
/Alpha Team: Nix: Damn... That's some scary shit.
Nix selected the 3rd choice and closed his eyes. A cool hand rested on his forehead causing him to open them. Fajii's dark face hovered over him, her eyes showing concern. She bent slightly and pressed her lips lightly against his.
/Alpha Team: Fajii: I'm here.

Life in another world with an Immunity System
NOTE: I just finished a large scale editing with the chapters. From now on, the world is no longer a 1000X Earth. I have added my original element. From here on, with a few exceptions, no similarity can be found with our Earth. Thank you. The change has been applied from chapter 1. So if anyone finds any missed places or traces of my previous world-building, please comment and notify me. Andel lived in a world where those with powers will have the final say in everything. In his world, having no aptitude to either magic or Ki means you are even worse than ants. Unfortunately, he didn’t have any aptitude to either. His life should have been hell, but due to being the son of two powerful parents and descendant of a powerful family saved him from a wretched fate. Life was harsh, but Andel wasn’t one to mourn and do nothing. From his childhood, he learned all kinds of close-combat styles and martial arts, proving himself to be a genius at close combat as long as ki isn’t involved. As genius as he was, there was no way he could match those with powers, right? Wrong! Andel had another identity. He was originally a person from Earth who got transmigrated after an accident. Moreover, during his transmigration, he also gained a system that gave him resistance to various things in exchange for experience points. With the Immunity System in hand, Andel decided to finally step into this magical new world and make a name for himself, after spending twenty years in training. Rooms of the Desolate
Rooms of the Desolate is a collection of short stories designed to guide the reader through the many rooms and mysteries of the bleak and greyscale labyrinth of the Desolate. The first entry, "The Forever Tower" follows an unnamed wanderer climbing an endless, colourless tower; the only world they have ever known. As they slowly ascend alongside the masses, they consider the nature of their world and look to the corridors as temptation beckons. The second entry, "Production Line", follows an engineer in a boundless factory, who encounters a product that does not wish to bow to the overseers and makes them question their belief in the truth and duties they were made to believe. Content guidelines: Current entries do not include explicit profanity, but future entries may do so, hence the presence of that tag. Some entries do include gore and violence, though not currently to particularly extreme degrees. The Desolate is exactly that: a desolate world; as such, it is bleak, downtrodden, and may deal with mental struggles. Cover art credit: Adam Borkowski on Pexels.
