Starting With Contract Pets Chapter 25

"Hehehe!"
Along with sinister laughter, Little Devil used Scary Ghost Shadow again. After a miss, a large amount of dark spiritual power erupted, and it formed huge ghost claws, which went for Purple Jade.
Slap, slap, slap! The cub swung a vine whip incessantly, deflecting the attacks. Thanks to its owner's training, its Vine Whip skill could be used flexibly and changeably, making the ghost claws completely unable to reach it.
Suddenly, with a snapping sound, Little Devil fell onto the ground. Its breath was languishing, and not only did it have a parasitic seed on its body, there were even traces of poison.
"Poison! When did you use it?" Chen Rouxue was shocked. This style of play was too dirty; it was even worse than hers.
"I admit defeat!" She held up her pet.
"Buddy, take back the parasitic seed and treat your opponent."
"Howl!"
Looking at Little Devil, the cub raised its head high and retracted its skill. It then mobilized its wood element spiritual power to treat the ghost.
"You can feed Xiao Bai with a detoxifying medicine; my cub can treat the rest."
Su Bai explained.
"Okay."
Chen Rouxue nodded, then she took out a bottle of detoxifying potion from her bag and fed it to her pet.
Under the antidote and the cub's treatment, the ghost spirit returned to normal after half an hour.
"Wow, your tricks are despicable!" She stared at him. "You really didn't show a single bit of mercy. What a good friend you are."
"Haha, I could say the same to you. If I were even a bit merciful, it would be my cub on the floor receiving treatment now.
"Yang Zhou was tortured by you like this, right?"
"I think he'll cry even worse if he meets you in battle." Chen Rouxue patted Su Bai. This fella was really despicable.
In fact, neither of their systems had been completed, or else they would have a higher threshold for disgusting methods to make sure that their opponent could not win.
Su Bai still admired Chen Rouxue's performance. If he had not let Purple Jade open a domain at the beginning, he really would have fallen into her trap.

The important thing here, though, was that he had purposely not relied on his interface to obtain information about Little Devil. Otherwise, his winning rate would be even higher.
"Fine, I admit defeat this time. I won't lose again."
After taking a break, Chen Rouxue said, "Let's start training."
Battle was not the main point; they just wanted to understand each other's strength.
The main purpose of this was to rely on the other's pet to train theirs. Only in this way could their spirits become stronger much faster; it could increase their pets' battle experience as well.
Both of them started training their spirits' strain and reaction skills. Purple Jade trained its evasion ability via Little Devil's Scary Ghost Shadow skill, while the latter honed its Ghost Claws via the cub's Vine Whip skill.
The ghost spirit's practice was also centered on the accuracy of the release of its reaction skills.
The training seemed simple, but they needed to keep at it to achieve skill mastery and avoid fumbling the ball while in combat.
For some reason, Su Bai felt that something was wrong with his pet. It trained seriously from beginning to end sans any complaints or signs of laziness. Was it because of the presence of outsiders?
He was very gratified. Purple had Jade finally understood his good intentions.
After more than two hours, the cub and the ghost both ran out of spiritual power.
"Come, drink it."
Su Bai handed a bowl of wood spirit potion to the cub. The obedient, little fellow had made him feel touched.
Gulp, gulp…
Purple Jade swallowed the wood spirit potion in a few mouthfuls, then it lifted its head to look at him. "Howl!"
It wanted more.
"Okay, okay, I'll give half a bowl more."
He shook his head helplessly.
Gulp, gulp…
The cub finished half a bowl of the wood spirit potion in two gulps and then looked up at its owner again.
"Huh? A breakthrough?"
Su Bai realized that the cub's body had a faint spiritual pressure, and based on the rhythm, it seemed about to have a breakthrough.
Realizing that the cub was about to break through, he quickly poured down the remaining wood spirit potion. He then took out a breakthrough fruit, which he had prepared long ago, and fed it to the cub.

The breakthrough fruit contained a lot of spiritual power and was 3,000 yuan a piece. It would help his pet have a breakthrough.
"Howl~ Ψ( ̄∀ ̄)Ψ"
The cub bit the fruit and juice overflowed. At the same time, a spiritual vortex appeared on its body, and then a turquoise aura covered it entirely.
When the aura dissipated, Purple Jade revealed its figure.
Sitting on the ground, its body size was slightly larger now, and the purple horns between its ears, which resembled an antler's, had become darker. Although there was no major change in its appearance, Su Bai knew that the cub had broken through to become a mid-level servant spirit, finally entering the growth period.
At this time, not just the cub's total spiritual power, even its physical fitness had improved. Now, it was five times stronger and would not have such a difficult time against Chen Rouxue's Little Devil like before.
"Howl!"
Holding its head up high, the cub circled its owner excitedly, desperate for him to praise it.
Su Bai knelt before it and patted the cub's head happily. "As expected of you, buddy. You broke through so quickly; I'm so proud of you."
Hearing his compliments, the cub became even more excited. It sprinkled joy in the venue as it showed off its skills.
"Congratulations! Your spirit is worthy of being a 93-point godly pet. It broke through and entered the growth stage in just one week."
Chen Rouxue came over and patted him on the shoulder.
"Haha, thank you. I'll invite you to dinner to celebrate in a while." Su Bai was extremely happy. Although he had no more than 3,000 yuan left, it was not a problem to treat a friend to a meal.
"Thank you, then! Hehe!" Chen Rouxue beamed at him.
It was still early, so the two decided to practice for a while longer before they headed to dinner.
...
"D*mn it! Can you stop your pet from regenerating? Aren't you being too shameless?"
Chen Rouxue complained. After playing for more than half an hour, Xiao Bai's spiritual power had already hit rock bottom, but Purple Jade was alive and kicking as per usual. Its regeneration ability was just too disgusting.
"Hahaha, I can't stop it from recovering."
Su Bai shrugged. This was amazing. The cub's restoration ability had improved tremendously.
"Let's stop fighting and rest now. You still have to treat me to a big meal."
Chen Rouxue wiped her sweat in annoyance and sat down beside him, sulking.
Ding dong—
Su Bai was about to say something when his phone rang. He picked it up in surprise.
[Identity no. 63250… Hello, Pet Tamer Su Bai, your registration for the 'Cannes Trainee Pet Tamer Survival Challenge' is successful. Find a partner as soon as possible and arrive at the venue, Phoenix Mountain, on April 20 so that you can stand a chance of winning a hundred million!]
Su Bai: "???"
When did he sign up for this kind of competition?
He was dumbfounded.
After logging into the Pet Tamer's account, he looked at the registration time and finally came to a realization. "Buddy, did you do this?"
Su Bai showed the registration page to it.
"Howl! "
Purple Jade happily ran over and held up its paws. Of course, it was me; quickly praise me, Ah Bai!
He looked down at it helplessly. Little cutie, this is a two-person match; what are you being so happy about? It's extremely difficult to win the championship in this.
The range of the apprentice Pet Tamers seemed very small, but there were actually some high-level servant or even warlord pets.
A bronze-level contract book could be used to contract warlord pets, so this competition was not as simple as it seemed, which was why he had not considered it as a way to make money.
"What happened?" asked Chen Rouxue curiously.
He glanced at his female friend. She was actually a good choice. He had not thought of inviting any classmate to participate together, for he felt that they were too upright to participate in such a competition.
However, Chen Rouxue's tactical playstyle was quite appropriate for this.
"Actually…"

Blood & Noodles
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] As they always have, humanity hunts the gods roaming the world, craving the supernatural power that flows within their veins. Even a drop is zealously guarded, passed from master to student through the ages. It is with this stolen power that the Blooded - those with divine blood coursing through them - grasp beyond mortality and achieve prestige, power, and greatness. Yet, for every fraction of power gained, thousands perish, slain by the gods' supernatural prowess. But everything is beginning to change. Eight years ago, for the first time in human memory, a god was felled. Part-time chef and full-time nuisance Orvi wants nothing to do with gods. Living in a derelict city, his only concerns are ensuring his adopted family's restaurant is prosperous and how to best beat the neighbourhood boys in a fight. If he's lucky, he might even snag a date with the farmer's daughter at the market. But even though he cares nothing for the gods or their blood, the world won't leave him alone forever. Because to reach godhood, one must first leave their humanity behind. *** The first arc of Blood & Noodles follows the adolescent Orvi as he attempts to navigate his rapidly changing home and - by his own definition - protect his family. The story is told almost entirely in the first-person, from the perspective of a teenager who isn't always the sharpest tool in the shed. There are tragic elements, especially in the current arc. It's character-focused and driven, though the protagonist's shenanigans are backdropped by a world operating independently from him. Orvi's a generally light-hearted character, and though the story veers into darker territory, I also want it to be able to make readers smile. Action sequences, despite the fantastical elements, are meant to be grounded and clearly-conveyed; Orvi is a brawler, not a warrior. I'm trying to write a story that's enjoyable to read and flows nicely, mainly because it's more fun to write. I'm also trying to improve my writing, so any feedback, whether positive or negative, is welcome!

Re: (Union//Incarnation)
Two years ago, a meteor fell and decimated the southeastern lands of Gaia, turning them into wastelands constantly shrouded in white fog. None of those who saw the blazing calamity with their own eyes lived to tell the tale, and those who attempted to venture in never came back. Since then, towers, caverns, and ruins have appeared and disappeared without a pattern. Those who were brave enough to venture in were rewarded with a partner capable of defying the natural laws as humanity knows it. Claire Saphira wanted none of that. She simply wished for a life where she could live without worry of her own survival. As she ran from the debt collectors for the umpteenth time, she was swallowed by an errant tower, where she saw a frail, pale-skinned girl with ashen hair hung by chains. It was a chance, a chance to participate in the tournament and live without worrying about survival. Yet, something nagged in the back of her mind. Why did she look so familiar? Planned release schedule: One chapter every day for Mon-Fri, and a break on Sat-Sun. The release will slow down at some point, but most likely won't go under 3 chapters a week.

Multiverse of Marvel
-------------- "Let's leave my origins. We both have unspeakable origins. But the problem is I know of your origins. Galan of Taa." John said. Galactus' eyes squinted as John said his real name out loud. He never expected someone totally out of nowhere knew his actual name. "Never expected an unknown guy would know my origins. So what of it? I don't think it matters where I came from." Galactus replied. "It doesn't. You did what you had to do to survive. But the problem is you made a deal with the devil." John replied. Galactus looked at John with more stoic eyes now. He had done many things in the past and he made many bad decisions. He just wasn't sure what John was referring to so he was silent. John seeing that Galactus was silent and refused to speak said "Black Winter is coming." -------------When a cinephile and an otaku/weeb travels through dimensions and gets a system which can only be described as overpowered but comes with restrictions. At first he was overjoyed with the system but soon realizes that he is in a very dangerous world where his life was at risk all the time. (There will be no change in the canon until the New York War ends) Disclaimer : I am not an economist so I might have done some mistakes in the economics section of the story. If you have suggestions to make it better you can leave in the comments. Warning - The MC won't be OP from the start itself and will grow to a powerful character in due time. The starting feels a bit odd because I am totally new to writing a novel and I don't have an editor so the conversations and descriptions might be little stiff. I have been trying to improve. The romance in the story is very little and I understand that its badly written. I am sorry about that but no need to worry. It doesn't have any effect in the story. The story is assumed on the fact that the reader at least knows the plot of Marvel movies and some popular animes. All the other elements are explained as much as possible. P.S. This story is based on pure Marvel Multiverse
