Supreme Grandpa Chapter 84

Hu Feifei led Yang Song and Su Xiaotuan to a restaurant not far from the Rivulet Park. This restaurant was not a normal restaurant, most of the dishes on the menu actually contained abyssal meat and ingredients.
Hence, most of the customers here were martial artists and rich people.
Even though Su Xiaotuan was not poor, she would only dare to eat in this kind of restaurant a few times a year at most.
When the three people walked in, many other people looked over. When they saw an old man leading two young and beautiful girls into a fancy restaurant like this, they just shook their heads and sighed secretly, "The society nowadays is so 'spicy'."
Yang Song's ears twitched oddly.
A waiter came to greet them and the three chose a table of four.
Hu Feifei smiled generously and said that she would treat the two. Yang Song refused it but since this "Ting Meimei" insisted on it, he nodded helplessly and ordered a bunch of dishes.
Su Xiaotuan was not a martial artist, so she couldn't possibly consume food that contained heavy abyssal energy such as meat. Hence, she only ordered a few foods that had abyssal ingredients.
The efficiency and speed of this restaurant were quite satisfying. Before long, all the dishes arrived.
The three started eating and chatting at the same time.
"Meimei, where do you live?" Yang Song picked a piece of fragrant abyssal meat and put it in his mouth, chewing contentedly.
"I live in the Hundred Leaves Community Villa. Does Elder Yang want to visit me?" Hu Feifei asked with a blush.
Yang Song shook his head and chuckled, "This old man just asks casually."
Su Xiaotuan put down the glass of water and said suddenly, "Actually, I also live in that community. What is sister Ting's villa number?"
Hu Feifei was surprised, "What? You live there too? I live in villa no. 36, what is sister Xiaotuan's villa number?"
"My villa is not far from yours, it's villa no. 45. Our villas are surprisingly quite close to each other, however, I seem to have never seen you before. Did you just move in? I have a few acquaintances who live near your villa," Su Xiaotuan raised her brows and said.

"That's right. I actually moved in not long ago. I originally lived in Azure Lake City."
With this, Hu Feifei and Su Xiaotuan suddenly became quite close to each other. The wariness that silently lay in Su Xiaotuan's heart before quietly decreased.
Yang Song watched the two girls getting along with each other, however, he did not forget to wolf down his food at all.
Not long after, the meals were finished and bill was paid.
Su Xiaotuan felt quite a chill to have eaten such a set of expensive meals for just dinner.
It was already 9 pm when they came out of the restaurant. Yang Song hopped on his hoverboard and the two girls called a taxi, and the three parted ways after a few words.
Looking at the leaving taxi, Yang Song narrowed his eyes slightly before he speeded up and went in the direction of his home.
Unknown to Yang Song, two people in black were trailing him along the way. The two of them held a long blade each.
Soon, Yang Song came past the silent Rivulet Park where light poles were scarce. The river near the park reflected the great silver full moon and two active blades beautifully.
The two devil-masked killers in black looked at each other slightly and nodded. They instantly kicked the ground silently and dashed towards Yang Song's back.
The two killers became two blurry shadows. The two blurry shadows directed the two cold edges of blades that reflected the silver light of the moon at the slow-paced Yang Song.
Seeing that Yang Song didn't mean to speed up or even notice them, the two killers became excited instantly. If this mission was succeeded, they would receive a heavy reward.
However, just as their blades were half a meter away from Yang Song's back, two people in ordinary clothes and wearing strange-looking gloves popped out of nowhere and blocked their attacks easily.
As if he had just noticed this, Yang Song stopped moving forward after he was a few meters from the four people.
Yang Song turned around slowly and looked at them with interest.
Among the four, two of them were bodyguards that his daughter-in-law, Gong Xueqing, ordered to follow him all the time and protect him secretly.
The other two wore in black outfits and devil masks. The devil mask had two white and vicious fangs that protruded out.

Both killers had the same outfits and the same battle techniques. They should come from the same organization.
The two killers were both 6th Tier Warrior martial artists. Their strength was really not to be looked down upon, and coupled with their killer moves that directed at vital points every time, each attack and thrust from them were extremely fatal.
But Yang Song was not worried about unexpected accident the slightest.
First of all, he himself was a 4th stage Foundation Building cultivator. His strength alone was enough to squeeze these two killers, who were no different from ants, to death.
Second, the strength of the two secret bodyguards was more than the look. These two bodyguards were 7th Tier Warrior martial artists and were quite young, from their appearances, they seemed to only be in their late twenties. But since they were martial artists, they should be older than that.
Perhaps because they wanted to capture the two killers instead of killing them, they deliberately lowered their strength and wanted to take the killers by surprise.
"Clang, clang…"
Two blades and two pairs of metal gloves clashed against with each other and created orange sparks as well as clanging sound from time to time.
From Yang Song's observation, the battle would end soon. The two bodyguards seemed to be backing down, but they were actually trying to get familiar with the moves of the two killers and trying to catch their blind spots.
The killers seemed to only focus on attacking and killing the two bodyguards as fast as possible. Fearing that Yang Song might run away, they secretly looked at each other and nodded, as if they were preparing use their trump cards.
But in the fraction that the two were making signals with each other, the two bodyguards suddenly exerted their power to the fullest and kicked the ground hard.
"Crack, crack…"
The concrete cracked terribly and the two bodyguards flew over like a bullet. They took the chance to punch the blades away strongly.
"Clang!"
The powerful vibration was unbearable for the two killers. Their blades cracked slightly before they flew out of their hands uncontrollably.
Feeling the abnormal increase of strength of their opponents suddenly, the two masked killers felt something wrong instantly.
"Not good! Go offline!" One of the killers shouted loudly.
The word "go offline" at this moment seemed to represent the word "commit suicide". The two killers were about to break something that was put in beforehand in their mouths.
However, before they could do so, they suddenly found that their mouths couldn't move, no, to be more precise, except for their pupils, their entire head couldn't move at all.
A tingling sensation was felt in their side necks. They were about to reach out their hands to quickly take away the object their stuck their side necks, but their actions were too untimely.
The two bodyguards took the opportunity to hit their necks weightily, making them faint.
For a second, the two bodyguards thought they had seen two thin silver needles in the side necks of the two killers, but after they blinked slightly, the needles disappeared.
Five meters away, Yang Song came stopped standing as a bystander as he came over.
"Take out the poisonous marbles from their mouths," Yang Song instructed the two.
The two nodded and took out two transparent marbles the size smaller than a tooth that contained green liquid cautiously.
It was no secret that most assassins stored strong poisonous things in their mouths all the time.
Yang Song said, "Give them to me."
The two bodyguards were taken aback slightly, wondering why Patriarch Yang wanted this poisonous thing. But they didn't question him, they gave the poisonous marbles to Yang Song silently.
Yang Song took out a pair of gloves out of nowhere and wore them before he took the poisonous marbles.
He then covered the marbles by clutching his palm softly and put his hand in his pocket. After that, he silently stored them in his storage space.
"Patriarch, these two should be from Papa Devil Organization. I've seen them a few times in the past," one of the bodyguards said.
"I see. But let's not talk here, bring them to this old man's house," Yang Song nodded and said quickly before he continued to ride his hoverboard in the direction of his house.

On the Road to Elspar (Book 1)
The year is 1329. The Huntress' War has entered its tenth year, inflaming competing nationalisms and pitting the Confederacy of Caldrein against one of the continent's superpowers, the Tenereian Union. Desperately outnumbered, the Confederacy has relied on the prowess of its famed Caldran mercenaries, with highly-trained and experienced warbands returning from foreign conflicts to the defense of their homeland, and it is on their backs that Caldrein has successfully mounted a valiant defense for a decade. But they are losing, and day by day, with all the grace of a sledgehammer, the vast Tenereian armies take one more bit of Caldran territory, one footstep at a time. Sixteen-year-old Neianne from the village of Caelon has submitted herself to Faulkren Academy, one of the centuries-old institutions established to train the next generation of Caldrein's elite soldiers of fortune, to learn the ways of wars for three years before embarking upon the defense of her country. Her dryad family once hailed from reclusive woodland communes isolated from Caldrein's complicated mainstream society, and her upbringing leaves the shy village girl unprepared to suddenly train alongside other apprentices from backgrounds as low as the dirty slums of Caldrein's cities and as high as the halls of aristocratic power. Yet the war is eroding the norms and traditions that the Caldran people have long considered part of their national mythos, and the tensions within the confederacy that have long simmered under the surface - race, class, community, identity - are slowly but surely dividing its people, and Neianne must grow and discover who she really is, even as the war that she is steadfastly training for comes to its inexorable end... On the Road to Elspar is a fantasy quest - a work of interactive fiction wherein readers get to vote on what happens next at critical junctures - that is the first entry in a story that follows Neianne of Caelon, which first began on July 20, 2016. Originally a three-part in medias res prologue to a larger story titled On the Elsparian Road, it was eventually decided that this section - which covers Neianne's three years at Faulkren Academy - become its own independent story due to length, structural, and accessibility reasons. Despite this being a reader interactive work of fiction, due to logistical and verification concerns, voting will only be counted on its thread on the forum Sufficient Velocity, where this story originally began. As such, the content here on Royal Road serves as a story-only archive. You are, of course, entirely welcome to enjoy On the Road to Elspar as a conventional work of fiction, just as you are welcome to comment, discuss, and provide critique. But if you would like to participate in the voting, then I would be honored to welcome you on Sufficient Velocity. To facilitate accessibility and to ensure the best reading experience, this story-only version of On the Road to Elspar will be updated at a periodic pace, even though further content exists, so as to not overwhelm new readers on Royal Road. If you enjoy this story, wish to binge it, and/or want to participate in voting immediately, you may of course read all additional content via the link provided above. This paragraph will be removed once the content on Royal Road catches up with what has already been posted in its original thread. Cover artwork by DreamSyndd.
