Chapter 294: The Path to Soul Formation Stage
Translator: Henyee Translations Editor: Henyee Translations
Cultivation life as a third-year was a slow and steady road, and time slowly drifted by.
An Lin had already consolidated his cultivation base and was now ready to step up to a higher level.
The next step was to attain his own domain. He didn’t know what type of domain he would attain.
As a powerful Sword Immortal, An Lin was hoping for a domain of a myriad of swords, or a domain where sword intent ran rampant; only something like that would fit his status as a Sword Immortal.
In order to attain his domain, he observed the rising and setting of the sun every day. He meditated under the stars; he listened for the slightest sounds in a tranquil forest; he practiced his sword techniques by a waterfall… Basically, he did everything he thought would help him attain enlightenment.
However, it all seemed to have zero effect.
“Xiao Chou, do you think my cultivation methods are incorrect? Why is that I feel no different after so many days of perseverance?” An Lin asked dejectedly.
Xiao Chou scratched his fur in uncertainty. “There’s not really any right or wrong when trying to attain enlightenment. It’s just important to find an environment that would be conducive to your cultivation. A place that contains a desirable intent realm would be best.
“Attaining a domain is no simple task. On the contrary, it’s a huge hurdle for any cultivator to cross. There are many Spirit Nurturing Final Stage cultivators who were unable to attain their domain until the day they died, so it’s best to be patient.”
An Lin immediately shuddered at Xiao Chou’s words.
What if his aptitude was trash and he would require a few decades to attain his own domain? He’d rather cry himself to death.
No, he couldn’t take the risk…
He required the assistance of the system!
Within the pill refinement chamber of the Dou Shuai Palace.
A fatty was greeted to the sight of his idol.
“Mr. An Lin, what pill are you here to eat this time?!” Yi Xi’s eyes lit up as he asked excitedly.
“Er… I’m actually here to consult you about a few questions,” An Lin replied sheepishly.
Yi Xi the Enlightened was the first disciple of Lord Lao Zi so he had a vast amount of life experience. On top of that, he was also a first-class pill refinement master, so it was a good idea to consult him.
“No problem, what would you like to know?” Yi Xi was more than happy to strengthen his relationship with this pill-consumption mighty figure, so he was quite eager to grab this opportunity to help An Lin out.

An Lin hesitated for a moment, but still recited the three ingredients he required to break through to Soul Formation Stage in the end. “Elder Yi Xi, have you heard of the Heart of the Divine God, the Divine God’s Elixir, and the Divine Paragon Fruit?”
Yi Xi’s eyes widened in shock as he gasped at An Lin’s question. “Why would you want to know about these three items?”
“I want to collect them for my own uses.”
“Holy f*ck! What use could you have for these items!?”
“Why do you ask? Is there a problem?” An Lin blinked with a vacant expression, unable to grasp why Yi Xi was responding in such a vehement manner.
“There’s no problem, so to speak…” Yi Xi massaged his brow as he surveyed An Lin with a solemn expression. “It’s just that these three items are all at extremely high rank, why would you be interested in them…”
“Take the Divine Paragon Fruit as an example. You know how medicines are normally split between spirit rank and immortal rank?”
An Lin nodded. “I’m aware of that. Spirit and immortal rank are both also split into nine grades with the first grade being the highest.”
Yi Xi stared at An Lin and spoke in a solemn tone, “Then are you aware that there is a rank above immortal rank?”
An Lin faltered slightly at his question and a thought began to occur to him as his lips twitched. “Could it be the divine rank?”
“That’s correct, it is indeed a divine fruit. The Divine Paragon Fruit is a fruit of none other than divine rank!” A curious expression appeared on Yi Xi’s face. “So back to the original question… why are you looking for these three items?”
“Holy f*ck!” An Lin couldn’t help but swear out loud. “I had to pay twelve million spirit stones for an Ultimate Creation Pill. I’d probably have to file for bankruptcy for a Divine Paragon Fruit!”
He suddenly felt a sense of hatred toward the system. It was asking him to obtain a Divine Paragon Fruit?
How the f*ck was a poor c*nt like him supposed to get one of those!
“That’s not necessarily the case as there’s a difference between immortal pills and divine fruits. After all, an Ultimate Creation Pill is made from many high-quality immortal rank ingredients, so it’s naturally going to be quite expensive. A divine fruit won’t be as expensive, but there’s simply no supply even if you have the money…”
Yi Xi peered at An Lin and continued, “The Divine Paragon Fruit is born with intelligence and blessed by the heavens. Not only is it capable of movement, but it’s also capable of limited human speech. It’s essentially like an animal with extremely high intelligence, and it has a myriad of medicinal effects. It’s an extremely rare item that even a True God would be reluctant to part with, so it’s next to impossible to obtain one.

“That’s why I was so surprised. It’s pretty much an impossible task to collect the aforementioned items!”
An Lin was completely dumbfounded as he listened to Yi Xi’s description, but for some reason, he suddenly thought of a certain strange item.
After a moment’s hesitation, he brought out the golden ginseng plant from his storage ring and placed it on the ground.
This was a golden ginseng plant that was about half as tall as a grown man and with a flower growing on its head.
It immediately opened a pair of bright eyes upon its appearance. “Papa!”
It latched onto An Lin’s leg with an excited yell.
“Get off me! Isn’t Gundam One or Gundam Two your papa?” An Lin shook off the golden ginseng’s arms.
The golden ginseng backtracked a few steps and turned to Yi Xi with an aggrieved expression before latching onto his leg. “Mama! Papa’s bullying me!”
“Holy f*ck! I’m not your mum!
“No, wait, what the f*ck is this thing!?”
Yi Xi was extremely shocked to this golden ginseng that could move and talk.
It was even yelling “mama” and “papa”, what the hell was this situation? Was he supposed to be a couple with An Lin? And were they supposed to have given birth to this ginseng?!
“Huh… Such a high level of intelligence, such abundant vitality, what could this be…”
Yi Xi’s eyes widened as a startling thought occurred to him.
He stood rooted to the spot and suddenly yelled out, “Holy f*ck! Isn’t this a Reincarnation Ginseng?”
An Lin looked at Yi Xi with a confused expression. “You know of this first-grade immortal fruit as well?”
“First-grade immortal fruit?” Yi Xi exclaimed, “It has already formed an intelligence and evolved; this is a Divine Paragon Fruit!!”
An Lin blinked with a pleasantly surprised smile. “Ha! So it really is a Divine Paragon Fruit, what good luck I have.”
He felt like Yi Xi’s description of the Divine Paragon Fruit was quite similar to the traits displayed by his golden ginseng.
Both of them were capable of movement as well as basic speech. Who would have thought that this was actually a Divine Paragon Fruit!
“This is not a matter of simply good luck anymore, but an outrageous fortune! What you have here is a priceless treasure!” Yi Xi’s whole body was trembling with excitement as he stared down at the golden ginseng latched onto his leg with drool dripping out from the corner of his mouth.
An Lin was immediately startled into stowing the ginseng away into his storage ring.
A blush appeared on Yi Xi’s face. “I take back what I said, who would have thought that you already have a Divine Paragon Fruit…”
An Lin was quite pleased with himself. He had completed a third of the requirements just like that; this was going to be a piece of cake.
He then turned his attention to the other two items. “Elder Yi Xi, can you tell me what the Heart of the Divine God and the Divine God’s Elixir are?”
Yi Xi looked at An Lin with a meaningful glance and spoke in a slow voice, “The Heart of the Divine God is the manifestation of a divine rank consciousness. You can forcefully move or obtain it, but the only way to obtain it is for it to voluntarily accept you as its owner and merge into your body of its own accord. There’s a chance of encountering one in the tomb of a creature that had an extremely powerful consciousness during its living days.
“The Divine God’s Elixir is a manifestation of divine rank energy and you can usually find them anywhere where there’s a Heart of the Divine God.”
An Lin breathed a slight sigh of relief. “Two in one, sounds pretty simple.”
Yi Xi rolled his eyes. “Simple? Are you kidding me? Firstly, you would only have a chance of finding a Heart of the Divine God at the tomb of a mighty figure beyond Return to Void Stage cultivation base, and they must also possess an extremely powerful consciousness too. On top of that, there is a range of environmental criteria that must be satisfied as well. Let me put it this way. Even if you dig up the tombs of ten mighty figures, you might still not be able to encounter those two things.”
“That’s alright, I can take my time.” An Lin did not really seem disheartened by Yi Xi’s words. “One last question, what do the Heart of the Divine God and the Divine God’s Elixir look like?”
Yi Xi waved his hand. “I haven’t seen them either. I’ve only heard that the Heart of the Divine God is a bunch of white stuff and the Divine God’s Elixir is a strip of the white stuff.”
An Lin: “…”
An Lin was completely speechless at his vivid description.
But he at least had most of the answers he had come here to obtain.
He was now determined to become the tomb raider!
