Chapter 393: Killing With A Borrowed Sword
Translator: Henyee Translations Editor: Henyee Translations
An Lin flew through the air on his black brick and witnessed countless battles taking place on the ground below.
He resisted the urge to engage in some battles of his own and continued his search.
During that time, An Lin encountered a few Sword Kinesis Flight students flying around using Sword Kinesis Flight.
All of them made a conscious effort to avoid An Lin. It was a thrilling experience to face off against a Soul Formation Stage senior student, but they wanted to earn some more achievement points first in order to ensure a better placing. If their encounter had taken place on the final day, the Spirit Nurturing Stage students would definitely challenge him without hesitation.
Boom!
An earth-shattering boom erupted in the distance.
An Lin’s expression shifted as he diverged from his original course to fly toward the northeastern direction.
Another black sword projection rose up from the ground before shaving the tip off a nearby mountain.
This was a battle between two Spirit Nurturing Stage cultivators!
An Lin flew toward the battle on his brick to find that it was Yao Mingxi and Tang Ximen who were currently engaged in a battle.
He was a bit surprised to see this. Spirit Nurturing Stage cultivators normally wouldn’t battle one another this early. The first day was primarily for earning achievement points, what were they doing battling one another already?
Tang Ximen was one of the most powerful cultivators on the Immortal Rankings Board, and it showed in his battle as he had firmly gained the upper hand over Yao Mingxi. However, Yao Mingxi didn’t back down from the challenge. He had many wounds littered all over his body, but his sword techniques seemed to only be getting more powerful.
“Senior Tang, my next technique was invented by my little sister, I’ll be using it on you now!” Yao Mingxi suddenly stepped back in retreat and a towering black aura burst forth from the Divine Weapon, Dark Flash Sword, as the sword began to roar like a Demonic Godfiend.
“Hahaha… Do your worst, I’ll send you on your way to reunite with your little sister on the plaza!”
Tang Ximen laughed heartily as a crimson aura began to surge from his longsword.
An Lin was able to deduce roughly what had happened from their exchange. Yao Xiu had just progressed to Spirit Nurturing Stage and had been hunted down by Tang Ximen. Yao Mingxi happened to be nearby to avenge his sister, so now the two them were also engaged in battle.

“Great Wind Song, Demon-Sealing Tune!”
Yao Mingxi’s sword slashed downward and gale-force winds began to roar around them. A black sword projection suddenly descended upon Tang Ximen like rippling water, within which was a golden light which seemed to be imbued with an extremely potent power of sealing.
“Nice!” Tang Ximen roared as he wielded his longsword. A massive crimson sword projection also appeared from his longsword to meet Yao Mingxi’s black sword projection.
Boom!
The two devastating sword projections collided, tearing the very air around them apart in a radius of several hundred feet.
In the end, it was Tang Ximen’s sword technique that proved to be more powerful. The crimson sword projection vanquished the black sword projection and even the golden light within the black sword projection was obliterated.
Yao Mingxi was struck by the residual power from the crimson sword projection, and he fell to the ground with blood spewing forth from his mouth.
Tang Ximen grabbed this opportunity to close in for the kill.
An Lin was spectating the battle with relish when he suddenly detected a powerful aura approaching him from behind.
“Yo! An Lin, you preparing to land the killing blow again?”
A clear, crisp voice sounded from behind him with a teasing undertone.
An Lin looked behind him to discover an extremely beautiful woman flying toward him on her six-feathered staff.
An Lin was getting a little bit flustered. He hadn’t even had the chance to devise a plan to eliminate Tang Ximen yet and the appearance of the top threat, Liu Qianhuan, was undoubtedly only going to complicate the situation.
“Do you think a powerful prodigy like me would still stoop to such underhanded tactics?!” An Lin repressed his panic and replied with a calm expression.
“Haha, you’re the guy known to kill steal, aren’t you ashamed to say things like this?” A radiant smile appeared on Liu Qianhuan’s face as she also looked down at the battle below with interest.
Liu Qianhuan didn’t seem to have any intentions to battle him, to which An Lin internally heaved a sigh of relief.
A thought then suddenly occurred to him. “Liu Qianhuan, how about I leave Tang Ximen for you to land the killing blow?”
Liu Qianhuan faltered slightly at his suggestion before replying with a suspicious expression, “I don’t want to!”
An Lin blinked in confusion. “Why would you refuse such a lucrative offer?”
“Hehe, I’m not stupid. You’re the most dangerous one out of everyone here. You’re planning to swoop in and eliminate me after my battle with Tang Ximen, right?” Liu Qianhuan analyzed slowly with an all-knowing expression.

An Lin was at a loss for words.
Liu Qianhuan continued, “I’m still waiting for you to battle Tang Ximen, after which I’ll find an opportunity to eliminate you.”
An Lin suddenly felt extremely exhausted. He didn’t know what to do anymore.
He looked on as Yao Mingxi was eliminated by Tang Ximen. Their battle was already over, but if he continued to waste time, then Tang Ximen was going to escape…
An Lin gritted his teeth. “You eliminate Tang Ximen for me, and I’ll spend a whole day playing games with you!”
Liu Qianhuan’s purple eyes flashed as she turned to him with a confused expression. “Have you gone mad? What do you stand to gain from Tang Ximen being eliminated by me? Are you really planning to finish me off after I’m weakened by my battle against Tang Ximen?”
An Lin looked at Liu Qianhuan with a sincere expression. “Do I look like the type of person that would land the killing blow on you? What happened to our friendship? I just want to find an excuse to play games with you!”
Liu Qianhuan mumbled under her breath, “Who are you trying to fool?”
She averted her gaze, but a light blush had already appeared on her intricate features.
Tang Ximen had just battled Yao Xiu and Yao Mingxi in quick succession. His sleeves were torn, his entire right arm was stained by blood and there was even a sword wound on his stomach. However, these injuries weren’t really going to hamper him much.
The only thing that came as a surprise to him was that he had expended more vital energy than he had anticipated.
Fifth-year, Class One, Liu Qianhuan, please enlighten me!” A woman with short, pink hair descended from the sky atop her six-feathered staff, and her loud challenge instantly sent a shiver down Tang Ximen’s spine.
Tang Ximen looked up at Liu Qianhuan before he looked at An Lin, who was standing in the distance, and his chest constricted. “Liu Qianhuan, why are you bullying me?”
“Tang Ximen, how can this be called bullying? The operative word in the term ‘free-for-all battle’ is ‘free’. We’re free to fight whoever we want, and we’re free to land the killing blow on whoever we like, that’s true freedom!” Liu Qianhuan lifted her chin slightly with a light smile.
“That still sounds like bullying to me…” Tang Ximen’s lips twitched.
“Quit the chit-chat. Seeing as we’ve been comrades in the past, I can refrain from using my sword!” Liu Qianhuan’s staff was already glowing with a brilliant white light.
Tang Ximen sighed and drew his sword. A crimson sword projection instantly tore through the ground below and descended upon Liu Qianhuan.
Liu Qianhuan’s body instantly transformed into a cloud of white mist which floated off to the side to evade the sword projection. The cloud of mist then quickly condensed back into the form of Liu Qianhuan as a white ball of light shot forth from her staff.
Tang Ximen instantly fell back in retreat.
Boom!
The ball of light exploded with a resounding boom, creating a massive dust cloud in its wake.
Tang Ximen detected Liu Qianhuan’s presence through his divine sense and instantly slashed out a dozen sword projections.
The crimson flaming sword projections tore through the dust cloud with peerless might and created a series of rifts in the ground below. The energy imbued within the sword projections also dispelled the dust cloud, but Liu Qianhuan was nowhere to be seen.
The hair on the back of Tang Ximen’s neck suddenly began to stand on end and he turned around without hesitation before using his longsword as a shield.
A pillar of pink energy shot forth like a blast from a laser cannon before striking Tang Ximen’s longsword. Devastating power exploded forth, creating a massive crater of over a thousand feet in radius on the ground below!
An Lin sat on his brick and surveyed the battle from above with a calm expression.
Liu Qianhuan was even more proficient at the Mist Immortal Technique than he was, thereby allowing her to appear and disappear at will.
In Tang Ximen’s currently weakened state, he probably wouldn’t even be able to put a scratch on Liu Qianhuan.
The battle was still underway, but Tang Ximen was clearly well on his way to a loss.
In the end, he managed to inflict a light wound on Liu Qianhuan’s arm by unleashing an extremely fearsome crimson sword projection, but he was also struck down by a Final Spark and eliminated as a result.
Liu Qianhuan flew back to An Lin’s side on her staff.
An Lin furrowed his brows as he caught sight of the wound on her arm. “Is that injury serious?”
“If I told you it’s a very severe injury, would you finish me off?” Liu Qianhuan countered with a smile.
An Lin rolled his eyes. “Am I that type of person? Stop wasting time! Heal your injury and let’s go play some games!”
“Where are we going to play?” Liu Qianhuan asked.
“Same place as always, Black Rock Peak!”

The Undead Revolution
This was my first attempt at writing a story, in hiatus indefinitely. This story follows Silvy, half-elf, a rare race despised by both humans and elves. Having never met her father, the first years of her life were spent together with her mother, who had to leave her native village because of the blasphemy she had committed by giving birth to Silvy. At the age of eight, Silvy became an orphan and was left to fend for herself. Her mother had died of illness, Silvy’s life turning upside down: the child went from living in a modest but cozy home with poor but daily meals to live outside the walls in the slums, where crime was commonplace and food was scarce. Luck had yet to abandon her completely though, because a group of orphans like Silvy decided to help, integrating her into their group and teaching the tricks of the trade; that is, stealing and swindling. But fate had not yet finished playing with her. Kidnapped and frightened, her life will turn upside down again when she awakens as undead, but still able to think clearly.
