Chapter 397: Big Brother Cheng Is A Little Baffled
Translator: Henyee Translations Editor: Henyee Translations
The third and final day of the free-for-all battle soon arrived.
The enchantment around the Forest of One-Thousand Peaks began to constrict into an area of only a few kilometers in radius.
Over 99 percent of the students had already been eliminated.
They were all sitting on the White Jade Plaza, recovering from their injuries as they looked up at the crystal screen above them.
“The live scenes are going to be broadcasted when there are only two hundred students left. I’m so looking forward to seeing Senior An Lin in battle!”
“This year’s free-for-all battle is extremely intense. Most of the top students on the Immortal Rankings Board have been eliminated in the first two days. Cultivators as powerful as them should have been able to last until the final day, who would have thought they would be eliminated so early.”
“That’s true, it was unsurprising that people like Yao Mingxi, Yao Xiu, and Luo Ziping were eliminated, but for people like Su Qianyun, Tang Ximen, and Zuo Qiubing who should’ve been cemented in the top ten to be eliminated so early, that’s simply unbelievable!”
“It must have been Senior An Lin!”
“You’re right, there’s a very good chance they were all eliminated by Classmate An Lin…”
Just as all the students were discussing among themselves, the crystal screen suddenly lit up.
Raucous cheers rang out across the entire plaza as the students all turned their attention to the crystal screen.
The time had finally come for them to see their legendary idol in action!
Almost all the students were scouring through the images in search of An Lin.
“Look! Senior An Lin is over there!”
“What?! Why is he with Liu Qianhuan, my heart aches all of a sudden…”
“Me too, why didn’t Senior An Lin choose me?”
“What are they doing? It feels like they’re up to something.”
“It looks like they’re following someone, but it’s hard to tell from this angle.”

“Everyone, look, Xuanyuan Cheng is fighting someone as well!”
“It looks like he’s battling Hu Guan, the outcome is pretty much already decided then.”
A few female students immediately flared up in rebuttal. “Shut up, we’re not here to see how intense their battle is, we’re here for their looks!”
Despite Xuanyuan Cheng’s fearsome combat prowess, all the female students were far more excited to see his handsome face!
Hu Guan’s fists rained down upon Xuanyuan Cheng with mountainous force, but Xuanyuan Cheng’s sword was like flowing water which was extremely agile and graceful, allowing him to evade Hu Guan’s attacks with ease while inflicting a series of wounds on his body.
Xuanyuan Cheng was not a fan of brutality and as such, most of the students he defeated fell from the exhaustion of vital energy. When they collapsed to the ground, having depleted all their vital energy, Xuanyuan Cheng would lightly tap their Defeat Judgement Seal with his sword to eliminate them.
Many of the students looking up at the crystal screen were awestruck by how graceful Xuanyuan Cheng’s swordsmanship was.
Hu Guan was the most powerful student among all the first-year students, but he still couldn’t avoid the fate of vital energy depletion in the end.
“Classmate Hu Guan, your performance has been quite exemplary. You are the first student to have forced me to such an extent.”
Xuanyuan Cheng wore a pleasant smile as he tapped his longsword toward Hu Guan’s heart.
Hu Guan’s lips twitched upon hearing this familiar line.
Xuanyuan Cheng had said the exact same thing to the last student he had eliminated…
Would it kill him to at least change his lines? Where was the sincerity?!
Crack!
A clear, crisp crack sounded as Hu Guan’s Defeat Judgement Seal shattered.
Xuanyuan Cheng smiled lightly and nodded at Hu Guan before departing on his sword.
Meanwhile, Liu Qianhuan and An Lin were still running along the ground about a kilometer away from where Xu Xiaolan was flying through the air.

They both had superior cultivation bases to Xu Xiaolan’s so it was quite a simple task to mask their presence, especially when they were so far away.
After a night of rest and recovery, Xu Xiaolan’s injuries had mostly healed and she was ready for battle.
Some of the students left were Dao Body Stage cultivators, which she could take care of easily. There were also many Spirit Nurturing Stage students which required a bit more effort, but she still took them down without much trouble.
An Lin looked on as Xu Xiaolan swept through the competition like a force of nature and thought to himself that his mission completion was in the bag.
It had to be in the bag, otherwise, he could lose the balls from his bag!
The enchantment was still constricting and the battles became fiercer.
All the students following An Lin’s progress were extremely confused.
“What the hell is Senior An Lin doing? It has been a whole hour, why isn’t he fighting! He’s just running and stopping while looking in a certain direction, what the hell is going on?”
“How can mere mortals like us know what God An is thinking? Perhaps he’s plotting something earth-shattering with Liu Qianhuan!”
“I’m so eager to see Senior An Lin fight, I’ve never seen him in action since he progressed to Soul Formation Stage…” A beautiful female student stared up at An Lin’s image on the screen as if she was in a trance.
She refused to look at any of the other fierce battles taking place and only stared at An Lin’s running figure as her heart pounded with excitement.
Before everyone knew it, the enchantment had already been constricted to an area of five kilometers in radius.
There were still a total of just over twenty people left in the Forest of One-Thousand Peaks. An Lin and Liu Qianhuan still hadn’t engaged in any battles, and the students were beginning to figure out who they were tailing.
“My God, they’re following Xu Xiaolan!”
“What could their intentions be? I’m so excited.”
“I don’t understand, I really don’t understand…”
“Everyone, look! Xu Xiaolan and Xuanyuan Cheng have run into one another!”
Most of the students instantly turned their gazes upon the section of the crystal screen where Xu Xiaolan and Xuanyuan Cheng were facing off.
…
Within the Forest of One-Thousand Peaks, Xu Xiaolan and Xuanyuan Cheng both faltered slightly after catching sight of one another.
Xuanyuan Cheng didn’t expect to have to battle Xu Xiaolan, and his expression immediately became a lot more solemn. He knew Xu Xiaolan was one of the few people capable of defeating him.
“Third-year, Class One, Xuanyuan Cheng, please enlighten me!”
He bowed gracefully like an elegant prince.
Just as Xu Xiaolan was about to respond in kind, a voice suddenly sounded from afar.
“Fifth-year, Class One, Liu Qianhuan, please enlighten me!”
A pink streak of light suddenly appeared in front of Xu Xiaolan.
Liu Qianhuan bowed toward Xuanyuan Cheng with a smug expression.
Xu Xiaolan and Xuanyuan Cheng were both caught by surprise.
“Liu Qianhuan, what are you…” Xu Xiaolan was a little dumbfounded.
Liu Qianhuan looked at Xu Xiaolan with a smile. “Hey there, Xu Xiaolan, Xuanyuan Cheng is my prey, please leave him to me!”
Xuanyuan Cheng looked at the woman standing before him with a bitter expression. “Liu Qianhuan, I don’t recall offending you in any way recently…”
Liu Qianhuan blinked her bright purple eyes and replied with a mellow voice, “It’s because you’re too handsome, I’ve never fought anyone as handsome as you before, please fulfill this wish of mine before I graduate, what do you say!”
Xuanyuan Cheng: “…”
Xu Xiaolan stepped to the side in silence.
All the students on the White Jade Plaza were staring at scenes unfolding on the crystal screen with bewildered expressions.
Never would they have thought that Liu Qianhuan would challenge Xuanyuan Cheng after hiding herself away for so long! Just what were her intentions?
