Chapter 433: Reaching the Pinnacle of Life
Translator: Henyee Translations Editor: Henyee Translations
An Kirin and the white phoenix finally reached another truce as holy flames continued to flow into the sea of vital energy.
They seemed to be too busy absorbing the holy flames around themselves to be fighting one another!
The white phoenix absorbed holy flames in a hurried frenzy, and its body slowly became more and more substantial as its wingspan increased. Powerful holy might burst forth from its body, surging violently through the cavernous sea of vital energy.
In contrast, An Kirin was absorbing the holy flames as if he were slurping up milk, and he smacked his little lips from time to time with a joyful expression on his face.
An Lin finally heaved a sigh of relief and turned his eyes upon the Holy Vermilion Flame. He was praying that it would bestow him with enough energy to at least satiate An Kirin first.
Things seemed to be progressing according to his wishes as the white light continued to shine upon him.
Three minutes passed, and there was still no sign of waning from the white light!
Five minutes passed, and there was still no change in the situation…
An Lin was getting a little bored and sat down on the spell altar to meditate.
The elders of the Vermilion Bird Sect stared at the waterfall of holy light, and their lips twitched slightly at the sight of An Lin sitting down to meditate.
Tens of thousands of sect disciples were also staring at him; all of them were green with envy and they wished for nothing more than to take his place in the center of the spell altar.
Mo Hai sighed with envy and admiration. “A medial-grade Vermillion Bird Flame Wing only attracted the holy light for about one minute while a high-grade Vermillion Bird Flame Wing attracted the holy light for three minutes. An Lin has been absorbing the holy light for more than five minutes, and the light doesn’t even appear to be waning at all… Sigh… I don’t even know what to say anymore!”
“Brother An Lin is a lucky man.” Yang Yuan smiled.
“Much luckier than I am,” Shangguan Yi chimed in quietly.
Lu Jiazhi took a glance at her. No sh*t!
Ji Yongfang stared blankly at An Lin. He was at a complete loss for words.
An Lin was constantly diverting part of his attention to assess the situation in his sea of vital energy in case An Kirin and the white phoenix began fighting again.
An Kirin was still in the process of absorbing the power of the holy flames, and his stomach was slowly beginning to expand.
Boom!
His sea of vital energy suddenly shook violently.

Immediately after that, an insignia of white flames appeared on the golden baby’s forehead. At the same time, a number suddenly appeared on his chest which quickly changed from 0.91 to 1. Following this, three Tai Chu characters also appeared beside the number: Fire is full.
An Kirin’s stomach expanded further and further before he finally exploded and dissipated into golden specks of light which merged into An Lin’s meridians.
A golden light suddenly burst forth from An Lin’s body, immediately following which a golden robe of what appeared to be golden silk draped over his body like a holy robe.
He opened his eyes which were flashing with golden lightning and an explosive power burst forth, making him appear as if he were the God of Lightning.
All the disciples in the sect suddenly had the impression that the man in the center of the spell altar seemed to have grown more imposing before their very eyes.
“My god! What’s that? It’s so bright!”
“What terrifying power! Could this be an additional effect of the holy flame?”
“Are you dumb? Can’t you see the golden lightning running along his body? That extremely fearsome lightning power has nothing to do with holy flame!”
“As expected of the legendary An Lin to be able to trigger such extraordinary phenomena even as he’s absorbing the power of the holy flame! ”
…
As the golden robe draped over An Lin’s body, An Lin suddenly attained further enlightenment toward An Kirin, and a mantra was engraved into his mind, within which contained powerful lightning true intent.
He closed his eyes, and the golden robe slowly vanished while his aura gradually withdrew as well.
When he reopened his eyes, his irises had returned to their original black, and they were like two calm pools of water without any hint of emotion.
Everything seemed to have passed, and everyone heaved a collective sigh of relief as the pressure in the air disappeared.
“Phew… That sure was scary! Can’t the process of accepting the holy flame be a little bit simpler…”
“It normally is a relatively straightforward process; only supremely talented cultivators like Brother An Lin could stir up such a commotion. Let me catch my breath first…”
Many of the disciples were shaken by the earthshattering phenomena taking place on the spell altar, and they only had a brief moment to recover their composure when heaven and earth suddenly began to tremble as a new phenomenon occurred!
The Spiritual Energy of Heaven and Earth in a radius of five kilometers suddenly began to surge as a massive vortex of energy appeared in the starry night sky.
The gargantuan vortex of vital energy descended with the might of heaven and earth before transforming into a tornado which surged into An Lin’s body!

Tens of thousands of disciples stared blankly at the scenes unfolding before their eyes; some of them couldn’t help but rub their eyes in disbelief, and there were even a select few who had their hand clasped over their chest as if their hearts were about to give out on them.
Mo Hai’s mouth had fallen open in shock. “Who can tell me what the f*ck is going on now?”
Lu Jiazhi blinked in response: “It’s pretty obvious, isn’t it? Brother An Lin is making a breakthrough…”
Mo Hai turned to Lu Jiazhi. “I’m not blind! I’m wondering how he was able to make the breakthrough!”
Lu Jiazhi replied with a numb expression, “Of course it’s because he attained enlightenment from absorbing the power of the holy flame and was thus able to make a breakthrough. If you’re asking a noob like me, that’s the only explanation I can give you…”
Mo Hai: “…”
“Brother An Lin is breaking through to Soul Formation Intermediate Stage, right? Reaching such a high cultivation base at twenty years of age is already a new record for our Vermilion Bird Sect. It looks like he’s the undisputed number one prodigy of the Vermilion Bird Sect,” Yang Yuan remarked with a smile.
Ji Yongfang: “It’s not real, none of this is really happening…”
An Lin’s aura continued to climb, but his expression was quite calm. He knew that he had completed his mission after An Kirin reached a kilogram in body weight, so he was already mentally prepared for a breakthrough.
Even though all the elders of the Vermilion Bird Sect were extremely experienced and knowledgeable cultivators, none of them could understand what was going on.
Great Elder Chen Xinran turned to Zhu Yuanzhou. “Elder Zhu, where did you find this freak from? He has only been in the Vermilion Bird Sect for a few days, but he has already shaken the whole sect to the core!”
Zhu Yuanzhou chuckled with glee as he stroked his crimson beard. “Aiyah, my nephew-in-law is always pulling big stunts like this, I’ll tell him to be a bit more subtle next time!”
Chen Xinran: “…”
Lan Yan stared at An Lin with wide eyes and forgot to laugh for once. “Xiaolan, you have to be careful. An Lin is probably going to have a lot of admirers in the future.”
Xu Xiaolan rolled her eyes at Lan Yan before she turned her eyes on An Lin again, and her heart was filled with mixed emotions.
An Lin was progressing so quickly, and she was finding it extremely difficult to keep up.
An Lin’s aura soon broke through the bottleneck, and he official reached Soul Formation Intermediate Stage.
The vortex of vital energy in the air had already dissipated, but the light of the holy flame was still raining down upon him.
An Lin was starting to get bored once again so he swallowed a seventh-grade immortal pill, Dragon Soul Elixir.
This Dragon Soul Elixer was something he had obtained when he slew the Dark Night Monarch; it had the effect of strengthening one’s consciousness and fortifying one’s cultivation base during the Soul Formation Stages, so this was the perfect opportunity to consume it.
The immortal pill was translucent white, and the spiritual power of a dragon fluctuated around it as the sound of a dragon’s roar reverberated in the air.
All the sect disciples could immediately tell that this was an immortal pill from the phenomena it triggered. They were then treated to the sight of An Lin casually swallowing the pill before lying down on the spell altar.
All the disciples were about to tear their own hair out! The holy light flowed for him like a river, breakthroughs arrived for him like routine meals, swallowing an immortal pill for him was like swallowing a lolly… Was he trying to crush everyone’s Dao hearts right there and then!!!
“So the tales of Brother An Lin were indeed true. I was initially quite skeptical about his tales of his legendary feats in the Heavenly Court, but I’m starting to believe them now.”
“Ahhhhh… I’m so excited! I’m going to ask for his voice transmission talisman tomorrow!”
“Say, how long has the holy light been raining down on him?”
“F*ck! I would’ve forgotten about that if you didn’t mention it, it’s been at least ten minutes!”
“I’ve been keeping track of the time, it has already been eighteen minutes…”
“So six times the duration brought on by a high-grade Vermillion Bird Flame Wing…”
Great Elder Chen Xinran looked on with a pained expression before turning to the man beside him. “Elder Zhu, is there going to be no f*cking end to this?!”
An awkward expression appeared on Zhu Yuanzhou’s face. An Lin seemed to have absorbed a little bit too much of the energy from the holy flame.
…
Just as all the disciples on the plaza were heatedly discussing among themselves in a frenzy, the white phoenix within An Lin’s sea of vital energy let loose a clear cry, and it seemed to have completed a certain evolution. Holy might began to permeate throughout the entire sea of vital energy, and the relentless flow of white holy flames converged to become a white cloud which floated peacefully above the sea of vital energy.
The Holy Vermilion Flame seemed to be able to detect the changes occurring within An Lin’s body, and the pillar of white light finally began to gradually shrink.
All the disciples and elders heaved a collective sigh of relief. It looked like everything was finally over!
