Chapter 573: The Compromising Heavenly Void Beast
Translator: Henyee Translations Editor: Henyee Translations
Everyone noticed the change in An Lin’s expression, and they turned to him with surprise and anticipation on their faces.
Right at this moment, boundless golden flames burst forth from An Lin’s eyes before incinerating the vast world before him.
The golden flames swept forth, transforming the world into a sea of flames as the ground below began to melt while space warped and cracked open.
In just a short few seconds, the entire space around everyone had been engulfed in boundless flames, and the flames continued to spread into the distance!
“Holy crap! What are these flames?!” Cassidy’s eyes widened in shock.
“These are Sky-Incinerating Flames capable of incinerating the sky and boiling the sea! They can only be wielded by the mightiest of mighty figures!” Xue Zhantian yelled in excitement.
“Sky-Incinerating Flames my a*s! Those are clearly Golden Li Flames, which possess the ability to incinerate space itself. The flames Master is unleashing are Golden Li Flames of extremely high purity. Perhaps they really would be capable of burning a hole into this world…” Xiao Ze rolled his eyes at Xue Zhantian before turning to An Lin with reverence etched on his face.
After venting its shock and horror for a while, the gargantuan whale detected a scorching heat in its belly, and it turned its gaze internally to find that the world inside its body had been transformed into a boundless sea of flames…
Gargantuan whale: “…”
How did it feel to go blind, followed by having your innards transformed into a sea of flames?
Words could not describe its emotions at this point in time.
This familiar aura, this familiar power…
The gargantuan whale drew a sharp intake of breath. Wasn’t this its f*cking eye ability?!
Immediately afterward, it noticed a human who seemed to possess a pair of identical eyes as its own. The human was currently in the process of unleashing golden flames in its inner world, as if he were a realm-destroying fiendcelestial.
Are… aren’t those my eyes?
The gargantuan whale’s flesh crawled as a terrifying thought occurred to it.
The disappearance of the Heavenly Void Spirit, followed by the sudden onset of impotence and blindness… Could it be that this man was responsible for everything…

My god! What kind of monster did I absorb into my body!?
A rare sense of remorse and fear appeared in the gargantuan whale’s heart. Anyone would experience the same emotions if their food suddenly stole away their powers before turning their innards into a sea of flames.
No, things couldn’t continue like this!
The gargantuan whale immediately activated its power to unleash a sealing spell technique.
The Golden Li Flames, which were previously expanding at an alarming rate, suddenly faltered slightly before slowing down.
Solemn expressions appeared on all their faces as they knew an external force was at work here.
It was very likely that the Heavenly Void Beast was responsible for this, which meant that it had become aware of the situation within its body.
With this mind, everyone suddenly became very nervous.
This was like getting caught red-handed while they tried to commit arson to an extremely powerful mighty figure’s house…
However, An Lin was not going to stop no matter what. If he didn’t burn this “house” down, everyone was going to die here!
Boom!
An unimaginably enormous black shadow suddenly appeared in the air above this world.
It had a smooth round head, and its eyes were closed as its body obscured the entire sky above. Its appearance immediately imparted upon everyone an inconceivable sense of pressure, as if they were facing a certain high and mighty god.
An Lin looked up at the black shadow and immediately figured out the fact that this was the projection of the gargantuan whale. He looked at the projection with a calm and fearless expression.
“You are the one that stole the power of my eyes from me?” A mighty intent projected itself onto everyone. No one knew what language this was, but everyone could understand what the projection was saying.
“That’s right.” An Lin nodded.
Everyone turned to An Lin with shock on their faces upon hearing this.
He could even snatch away the power of the Heavenly Void Beast? Bad*ss!
Xiao Ze already had his suspicions when he saw the golden flames bursting forth from An Lin’s eyes. After all, his defensive ability had once been stolen by An Lin, so he knew just how powerful this ability was. Now that his assumption had been verified, he was in even more admiration of An Lin.

“My Heavenly Void Spirit was also taken by you? And my… that… and that, was that also you?” The gargantuan whale’s intent was as vast as the sea, but its voice was fluctuating with emotion.
“That was all me,” An Lin confessed.
He wouldn’t even get the chance to negotiate with the Heavenly Void Beast if he didn’t have the power to threaten it.
Boom!
An extremely formidable might descended from the sky, and even the boundless sea of golden flames was forced back. It was quite clear that the Heavenly Void Beast had been enraged!
“How dare you do things like that? Aren’t you afraid that I’ll kill you?!” A boundless killing intent descended upon An Lin, giving him a sense of asphyxiation.
“Hehe…” An Lin chuckled coldly as he said, “I was just an innocent bystander that wasn’t doing anything, but you still ate me for no reason. Am I supposed to just lie down obediently and wait for you to digest me?”
The Heavenly Void Beast seemed to have no response to this, and it pondered for a moment before continuing, “Return my Heavenly Void Spirit and the power of my eyes, and I’ll release you.”
An Lin shook his head. “The Heavenly Void Spirit has already been absorbed by me, so there’s no chance of returning it. I can return the power of your eyes to you, but you have to release all of us.”
“You…!”
Boom!
The Heavenly Void Beast’s aura surged violently as it seethed with killing intent.
However, An Lin did not fear it in the slightest. If the projection was able to harm him, it would have done so already. The fact that it hadn’t done so indicated that it was either unable to, or it would have to pay a hefty price to do so.
“Think about this carefully. I’m only going to give you one minute to consider my condition; if you don’t agree to my conditions within one minute, then you won’t have another chance to change your mind. After I die, you will be blind forever. Not only that, but I’ll be sure to plunder a few more of your abilities…” An Lin said with a calm expression, but the confidence and determination in his eyes were plain to see.
“The ones that attacked me can’t leave, but I can release the rest of you.” The gargantuan whale remained silent for several seconds before negotiating. This was clearly the biggest compromise it was willing to make.
It couldn’t just release everyone. The mighty Heavenly Void Beast had to kill all those who dare to attack it!
An Lin shook his head firmly. “I told you to release everyone, and I mean it!”
He continued, “You still have a half a minute to consider my conditions.”
A hint of awe and reverence flashed through Celestial Maiden He’s eyes.
Everyone else was also in admiration of An Lin’s fearlessness and his unwillingness to give up even a single one of his companions. His entire body was practically glowing in everyone’s eyes!
The gargantuan whale felt extremely conflicted. It wanted to kill An Lin on the spot.
But it couldn’t lose its eyesight, and if An Lin really did plunder a few more of its abilities before taking them to his grave, like its reproduction abilities or something like that… The Heavenly Void Beast shuddered at this notion…
However, for it to release everyone just like that would mean losing a lot of dignity. This was the equivalent of getting beaten up and having its most valuable treasure stolen before being forced to release all the perpetrators…
Time slowly passed by while the gargantuan whale endured the longest half a minute of its life.
Finally, just when the time was about to run out, it heaved a long, forlorn sigh. “Alright, I agree to your conditions, but you have to return my eyesight to me first.”
An Lin smiled lightly as if he had expected this outcome all along. “As you wish.”
Moments later, an invisible barrier rippled outward, and the Heavenly Void Beast suddenly felt as if it had regained something.
A brilliant golden light suddenly burst forth from the gargantuan whale’s eyes as if they were two miniature suns that emanated boundless light and heat!
The gargantuan whale was on the brink of tears. From blindness to regaining its vision, this was an extremely arduous path!
“It’s time for you to fulfill your side of the deal.”
An Lin clasped his hands behind his back as he looked at the projection with a calm but firm expression.

The Designated: Out of Control
It happened quicker than anyone would have imagined. Multiple hurricanes were one thing. People had dealt with that in the past. But, like kids playing dominoes, one thing crashed into another. Areas affected by hurricanes needed resources all along the Gulf and East Coasts drew rescuers and resources away from other parts of the country. When wildfires lit up the Pacific coast and mid-west, those areas were already understaffed. Driven by hurricanes in the Pacific basin, uncontrolled wildfires burned through towns, destroying everything in their paths. Across the Pacific, Asia didn't escape. From the Philippines, across China, into Indochina, and Bangladesh and India. Typhoons and cyclones pounded the coasts and far inland. Widespread flooding forced millions from their homes and across international borders. Mexico was hit hard and thousands died in mudslides as Katia slammed into their East Coast. The refugees fled north and west. Rumours started that hundreds of thousands were headed for the US border. Instead of running out of steam in the southern US, several hurricanes tore up the eastern seaboard, devastating cities and renewing their strength before veering east across the Atlantic. Maria and Ophelia veered east and slammed into Europe, reaching as far as the Netherlands and Russia before finally dissipating. After that, too many weather stations were offline to provide any form of co-ordinated information or warnings. Wildfires in Portugal burned ahead of the storms, fanned by hurricane winds. They sparked wildfires leapfrogging across Europe, beyond any one country's ability to cope. Already uneasy from multiple terrorist attacks over the summer, anti-refugee groups seized the opportunity to stage protests across Europe. Some turned violent as they clashed with police forces. Several governments declared martial law to quell the rioting and enforce evacuations along the path of the storms. Rumour and speculation overwhelmed facts. Unrest spilled over into widespread violence. Then sickness broke out in the displaced populations. Within a matter of a dozen weeks, tens of millions died. In the coming winter months hundreds more would follow. The Designated Project was activated.
