Chapter 615: The Unacceptable Victory
Translator: Henyee Translations Editor: Henyee Translations
Outside the Immortal Spirit Tower, the crystalline screen suddenly turned black again just as Emperor Ziwei was walking toward the collapsed An Lin.
“What the f*ck? Why did the screen go black again?!”
“What the hell is the guardian of this restricted realm doing? Can he even do his job properly?!”
“Ahhhhh… and this is happening at the most critical moment too! Senior Bai Zhong, I hate you!”
A torrent of abuse was hurled at Bai Zhong once again.
Bai Zhong felt extremely crushed, and he almost threw up a mouthful of blood.
It was clearly the spell technique unleashed by An Lin that had caused the screen to go black!
How the f*ck was this his fault?!
He felt like his heart was going to give out on him if he felt any more crushed than he did now…
The darkness suddenly lifted on the crystalline screen to reveal the aftermath of An Lin’s counterattack.
Everyone instantly drew a collective sharp intake of breath as they stared at the image on the screen.
An Lin had already stood up. Not only that, but he was holding a sharp black energy sword that was stained with blood.
Emperor Ziwei had retreated to about a dozen meters away with an expression of shock on his face as blood flowed from a wound on his chest where his heart was located.
“What… Emperor Ziwei was injured?”
“An Lin wounded Emperor Ziwei?! My God! Isn’t that a little too bad*ss?!”
“This is the epitome of a turtle’s fighting technique! Hide in the shell to draw the opponent into a false sense of complacency before striking when the opponent least expects it!”
“I knew God An could do it! He won’t back down, even if his opponent is Emperor Ziwei!”
“Ahhhhh! What happened when the screen went black? How did God An do it?”
“It’s all Senior Bai Zhong’s fault!”
“Exactly! He can’t even run a live broadcast properly! I’m giving him a negative review!”
Bai Zhong was obviously able to hear everything from his vantage point in the air.
After being falsely blamed again, tears finally began to flow from his eyes…
Within the ninety-ninth level of the Immortal Spirit Tower.

Emperor Ziwei looked down at the wound on his chest before nodding his head. “I didn’t think that you would really be able to wound me. Your decisiveness and ability to grasp opportunities are quite impressive. What is the name of that mystical technique you just used to instantly enhance your strength?”
An Lin had only unleashed his Origin Energy of the Netherworld for a split second, and he had already retracted it now.
After reaching the initial success stage in his body of the War God, he could use the Origin Energy of the Netherworld for a short time without suffering from the aftereffects. The only downside was that it expended a lot of energy to do so.
“That technique is called the Super Saiyan Two Enhancement Technique,” An Lin replied with a serious expression.
“Super Saiyan Two Enhancement Technique?” Emperor Ziwei stroked his chin thoughtfully before nodding and offering words of praise, “That’s an interesting name for a powerful spell technique.”
Liu Qianhuan, who had already awoken and was spectating the battle: “…”
“Since you have already wounded me, let’s end the battle here. You deserve the victory for making me shed blood.” Emperor Ziwei nodded.
He obviously wasn’t going to make An Lin actually defeat him. After all, that would be an objective that was next to impossible, so he might as well take this opportunity to concede the victory to An Lin and pass an inheritance onto him.
That’s right, he was quite fond of An Lin and wanted to give him some benefits.
An Lin faltered upon hearing this. He didn’t think that Emperor Ziwei would concede so easily!
Was he handing him the victory? How thoughtful!
He surveyed the system to find that the special mission hadn’t been completed yet.
F*ck… he was going to be as good as a nudist for an entire year if the battle ended like this!
An Lin shook his head as a powerful battle intent emanated from his body. “Emperor Ziwei, I think we should continue until one of us has fallen!”
Emperor Ziwei: “???”
He was beginning to doubt his ears. He had clearly just conceded the victory to An Lin, but An Lin still wanted to fight?
An Lin continued with a serious expression, “I don’t accept victories that are donated to me!”

He hadn’t even had the chance to grind Emperor Ziwei’s face into the ground yet, so there was no way he could accept victory like this!
However, what he didn’t foresee was the sensation that his words caused among all the spectators.
Tens of thousands of spectating students and teachers were startled by Emperor Ziwei’s sudden resignation, but there were also a good number of them who understood the meaning behind Emperor Ziwei’s actions.
However, what no one expected was An Lin’s refusal to accept his resignation!
The words “I don’t accept victories that are donated to me” reverberated throughout everyone’s minds as their blood surged with ardor and zeal.
“So… this is the legendary figure within our school? He is certainly worthy of being our legend!” A male student clenched his fists as he fought to repress the tears swimming in his eyes.
“This is the mark of a truly powerful cultivator. Perhaps only a cultivator as powerful as him would have such an unyielding heart.”
“What is a War God? This is the true War God! A War God is not someone who is never defeated, but instead, it was someone with insurmountable pride! He won’t accept a donated victory nor is he afraid of defeat!”
“Even if God An loses this battle, he’s still my idol! I’m a loyal fan for life!”
Xuanyuan Cheng turned to Tang Ximen with hope in his eyes. “Senior Student Tang, do you understand now?”
Tang Ximen’s breathing accelerated as he replied with an animated expression, “What the hell is An Lin doing? He could obtain Emperor Ziwei’s inheritance if he had accepted the victory! Doesn’t he know what a valuable opportunity he’s missing out on?”
Xuanyuan Cheng: “…”
A smile appeared on Sword Immortal Dong Yi’s face. “No wonder the two of you revere Student An Lin to such an extent. Even I am gaining a lot of respect for him…”
Yao Mingxi and Yao Xiu’s eyes were absolutely glowing, and neither of them heard what their teacher was saying as they were too busy screeching at the top of their lungs.
An appreciative expression also appeared on Bai Zhong’s face. He underestimated An Lin time and time again, and An Lin proved him wrong time and time again.
He only knew now that An Lin definitely hadn’t scaled the heights he had reached today through sheer luck! It was his unwavering pride and will to improve that led him to this point!
Within the ninety-ninth level of the Immortal Spirit Tower.
Emperor Ziwei was also rooted to the spot upon hearing An Lin’s reply. This was something that he did not expect.
He examined An Lin with careful eyes before a hint of excitement appeared on his expression as he chortled with glee. “As expected of the pride of the Heavenly Court, let us fight to our hearts’ content then!”
An Lin didn’t reply. Instead, he spoke with his actions. A golden cloak settled over his shoulders as golden lightning crackled in the air.
An aura of unmatched supremacy began to proliferate forth, giving him the appearance of a mighty god looking down upon the world.
An Lin’s body suddenly disappeared as Emperor Ziwei extended two fingers in a certain direction.
A scintillating streak of silver light instantly flashed through the air before slashing the space before him in half.
“Huh?” Emperor Ziwei turned in another direction, and An Lin’s body reappeared there as he struck with a white lightning sword in his hand.
This was the divine lightning sword from Liu Qianhuan’s trial tribulation, and the sword itself was rippling with monstrous sword intent. The air around him screeched as the sword streaked through the air with the power to destroy everything in its path.
Lightning also flashed under Emperor Ziwei’s feet as he retreated at lightning speed.
Crackle…
The white lightning sword flashed past before ripping into Emperor Ziwei’s purple robe again, but he was able to evade An Lin’s attack as he launched a fist at the same time.
His fist appeared to be quite mundane and ordinary at first glance, but within it was imbued extremely fearsome energy.
Boom!
The monstrous power behind the fist compressed the air before him into a pancake.
An Lin’s entire body caved in as the fist struck him, and a tearing sensation swept throughout his entire body.
He flew back like a cannonball once again before crashing into the wall of the Immortal Spirit Tower.
What came next was another torrential downpour of a powerful spell technique…
An Lin was being ground into the wall by Emperor Ziwei again…

*Note: This story is on hiatus. I intend to pick it up again, but the mood of my life has shifted for the time being and I'm going to be working on a side project for a bit.* What would you give to live the life of your dreams? What kind of deal would you make? And when you were there, forced to stare your dreams in the eye and live them every day, how long would it be... before they broke you? Author's note: This is my first excursion outside the realm of villain fan fiction and I welcome feedback. The thing I've loved most about RRL so far is the potential for writing to be an interactive experience with excited readers. That said, also, the primary genre this is intended for is the blossoming realm of LitRPG. Namely, a slice of life tale in the manner of Grimgar or Re:Zero. So, likewise, I don't expect there will ever be a clear beginning-middle-and-end type of pattern to this story. It will likewise always be a bit more of a reactionary, exploratory novel into realms unknown - much like the 1800 travel-novel theme used by Jules Verne. Or, at least, that is my ambition.

Transition and Restart, book one: Arrivals
Ulf Hammargren transits from one world to another, from Sweden to Japan and from the peak of his career to his high school body. He must rebuild his life and live with memories that never were. He must find himself again, find friends again and maybe dare to find love again. PG13 Observe that this is the first book in a series with book seven currently ongoing. The slice of life tag is there for a reason. The story is slow, and the characters unfold as the story is told. If you're looking for an action packed quick fix, then you have come to the wrong place.

The adventures of Adebar von Bolstedt continue!Adebar von Bolstedt, fugitive noble scion of the Empire, stuck in the Great Forest of Talabecland, is gravely wounded by the bestial denizens of the dark wintery woods, only surviving due to the timely arrival of aid and relief in the form of the masters of this land. What begins as a pleasant stay with the wild noblemen of Talabecland soon becomes a matter of faith and tradition as old as the Empire itself, when he finds himself trying to root out a coven of witches from a society that prides itself on rural living and knowledge of the mysteries of the wild. This quest will either see von Bolstedt's shaken faith in his own god reforged into an intolerant blade, or shattered like ice. Word from the AuthorGreetings! Witch Hunt plays out in the much beloved Warhammer Fantasy setting (owned, of course, by Games Workshop). Do not fret, however, as I've made it a point to make the story digestible even to the uninitiated, and maybe even be a good introduction to the setting. This is the second part of the adventures of Adebar von Bolstedt, as such I recommend reading part one, titled "The Hand of Sigmar" first. While I cannot claim the places, concepts and gods etc. mentioned within as my own, the story and all characters flowed from my own fingers.
