Chapter 712: Dong Guo’s Resolution
Translator: Henyee Translations Editor: Henyee Translations
On the outskirts of the gargantuan mountain, a man was traveling through the air.
This man was one of the generals of the Green Wood Imperial Family, Dong Guo.
Dong Guo was a little crestfallen as he looked for a way out around the mountain.
He looked up at the comical faces in the sky with a dazed expression for a moment, before a bitter smile appeared on his face.
The comical faces in the sky were like an insult to everything that he had just done as they sent dull, throbbing pain shooting through his heart.
He had been single for over three thousand years. Just when he thought that he had finally met his true love, in the end, the man with the princess in his arms wasn’t him nor was he the hero who had rescued the princess from certain death. Not only that, but he was even severely wounded by a single sword strike from a Soul Formation Stage cultivator…
Prior to entering this realm, he had even heard other cultivators discussing among themselves, talking about how he was the weakest Return to Void Stage cultivator in ten thousand years…
If it wasn’t for the fact that the situation was quite urgent at that time, he would have slain that cultivator that was slandering him!
Dong Guo looked up into the sky as he heaved a long sigh. “Sigh, why couldn’t I have been braver and escaped with Princess Yun Le in my arms? Doing so would have slowed me down a little, but there was a chance that we could have successfully escaped together.”
A hint of remorse appeared on his face. He felt like he had wasted a perfect opportunity.
However, right at this moment, he suddenly saw a familiar figure flash past in the distance.
That… Was that An Lin?
Dong Guo’s eyes widened as his heart rate accelerated.
Initially, to him, An Lin wasn’t even a worthy rival. However, he soon discovered just how foolish that notion was. All those heavy blows he had received had been bestowed upon him by An Lin.
In love, Princess Yun Le was clearly far more inclined toward An Lin. Career-wise, An Lin was the sect leader of a first-rate sect, the Four Nine Immortal Sect. In terms of combat strength, An Lin was able to wound him with a single sword strike…
Tears welled up in Dong Guo’s eyes as he followed this train of thought.

If things continued like this, An Lin was most likely going to give him post-traumatic stress disorder.
No!
Dong Guo abruptly raised his head, and a battle intent raged in his eyes as he looked up at the figure in the distance.
I was only wounded by him because I was too complacent! There’s no way he’s a match for me in a real battle!
Furthermore… he had that phoenix egg on his back!
If he snatched the phoenix egg away from An Lin, even if he couldn’t use it, he could give it to the Green Wood Imperial Family, thereby transferring the vendetta to the imperial family! There was no way An Lin was going to seek vengeance on an entire imperial family!
His status within the imperial family would also be elevated once he handed in the phoenix egg. Countless resources would be bestowed upon him, and the emperor would be so pleased by his deeds that he would marry his daughter to him, hehehe…
Dong Guo chuckled involuntarily as his imagination ran wild, and it was as if he could already see himself continuing onward to the pinnacle of his life!
He immediately tore through space and made his way toward An Lin as quickly as he could.
“Please wait, Mr. An Lin!” Dong Guo yelled.
An Lin was riding atop Da Bai around the mountain, and he had actually detected Dong Guo’s presence before the latter had even spoken.
An Lin turned and faltered slightly upon seeing who it was. Wasn’t this the man who he had almost insta-killed? What was he doing here?
“Eat this!” Dong Guo suddenly drew his Green Dawn Spirit Sword, and his aura soared drastically as a peerlessly sharp green sword projection pierced through the air toward An Lin’s heart!
An Lin: “…”
Da Bai: “…”
An Lin appeared to have been scared sh*tless, and Dong Guo was ecstatic upon seeing this!
The green sword projection flashed through the air while sweeping up a turbulent wave of vital energy that covered a radius of five kilometers.
This was one of his killing techniques, and even a Return to Void Stage mighty figure would be wounded if struck directly.
An Lin was a mere Soul Formation Stage cultivator, so no matter how powerful he was, there was no way he would be able to survive this attack!
Ding!
The Green Dawn Spirit Sword pierced through the air before striking An Lin’s chest, upon which boundless light burst forth.

And then, Dong Guo was dumbstruck.
The tip of the sword had torn apart An Lin’s robe, but it was unable to even pierce a single inch into An Lin’s body.
Five-colored light flashed around the portion of his chest that had been struck, which was like an impregnable fortress with not even a single hint of yielding.
Dong Guo: “…”
His most powerful killing technique had been blocked just like that?
This… this was way too terrifying! It didn’t make any sense!
He raised his head to discover An Lin looking at him with a cold expression. The overwhelming might and disdain in his eyes made his knees quiver like jelly.
“Heh, you asked me to wait just so that I can take a sword strike from you?” An Lin chuckled coldly.
“Mr. An Lin, this is all a misunderstanding! I knew you were extremely powerful, so I tried to challenge you to a sparring match with this sword strike!” Dong Guo’s expression shifted drastically as he offered a hasty explanation.
An Lin’s lips twitched slightly. “Do you think I’ll believe what you just said?”
Da Bai: “… Even a dog wouldn’t believe such a dumb lie, woof!”
A ferocious expression suddenly appeared on Dong Guo’s face. “Then eat this!”
Another green projection lit up before slicing toward An Lin’s neck at an alarming speed!
Ding!
The sword intent pierced through the air for three kilometers while sweeping monstrous gale-force winds.
The terrifying momentum of Dong Guo’s sword was halted once again by An Lin’s neck.
Dong Guo was in complete shock as he staged a frantic retreat.
An Lin twisted his neck from side to side as a cloak of golden lightning suddenly draped itself over his body. “I’ve received two of your sword strikes, so it would be rude if I don’t respond in kind.”
Whoosh!
An Lin flew toward Dong Guo at extreme speed as lightning crackled and Golden Void Lightning began to revolve around his longsword.
Dong Guo’s expression shifted once again. This was such a familiar technique!
This was the very technique that had swept his reputation to the ground!
“Not this time!” He refused to fall at the same hurdle again! A powerful sword projection from the Green Dawn Spirit Sword soared into the sky as it swept toward the oncoming An Lin.
The green sword projection was like a reversed green waterfall that swept toward An Lin with a boundless force as it pulverized everything in its wake.
This sword projection was the most powerful sword strike he had ever unleashed, and he was determined to redeem himself with it.
An Lin also slashed his sword downward as a golden-void sword projection capable of parting heaven and earth clashed with the green waterfall.
Boom!
Heaven and earth tremored violently as the two sword projections clashed and struggled for the ascendency while sending boundless power sweeping through the air in all directions and painting the entire sky green and gold.
“I, I finally countered it!” Dong Guo panted heavily as he looked up at the collision of destructive power in the air, and a hint of confidence and triumph appeared on his face.
Right at this moment, heaven and earth suddenly fell dark.
The world around him was transformed into an endless expanse of darkness, and even his senses had been deprived.
An overwhelming sense of imminent death instantly enveloped his body, and he immediately lashed out with his sword toward a certain spot in the darkness.
However, the sword piercing through the darkness came even faster and instantly punctured his chest.
Splat!
Blood flew through the air.
When the light returned to heaven and earth, Dong Guo was greeted by the sight of An Lin’s nonchalant and indifferent face, as if he had just done something extremely simple and nondescript.
An Lin skewered Dong Guo into the ground with his sword as a massive crater over a thousand feet in radius appeared on the ground below.
Dong Guo was pinned to the ground by the Evil-Slaying Sword, and his whole body trembled feebly.
“You, how did you suddenly become so powerful?” He looked up at An Lin with incredulity.
He had clearly already unleashed his full strength just then.
Even in the endless expanse of darkness, he was still able to accurately gauge the location of his enemy.
However, An Lin’s speed and power seemed to have suddenly increased drastically in that split second, taking him to a whole new level; a level which Dong Guo could not contend with, and he was instantly struck by An Lin’s sword.
“How did I suddenly become so powerful?” An Lin aimed a peculiar glance at Dong Guo as he snarled, “Are you retarded? It’s because I had never used my full strength before!”
Dong Guo: “…”
“Pfff…”
Another mouthful of blood exploded from Dong Guo’s mouth.

The First Primordial [DROPPED]
[Story dropped until further notice, I don't currently plan on restarting the story but will leave it as a possible option] During the Creation and before the inception of the Realms, there were 3 beings. Known as Primordials, beings even the God's knew little about that were rumoured to be myths or legends. Follow one of such beings that, given the unflattering name Arthur and the species of Demon, must figure out his place within the realms and find his fellow Primordials. Spending the beginning of creation within what will be called The White Realm then spending an unknown amount of time screwing around in the Demon Realm. Once he finally begins his story, he will be acquainted with a world full of grand vistas, religious nuts and floating rocks which will remove whatever little common sense he had remaining. Of course, there will be no shortage of trouble that will complicate things that (due to a poor ability in making good first impressions) will cause more than a few worlds changing events. These events include the destruction of a church and minor religion, including the death of that religion's God, messing with the reincarnated people and even introducing his own reincarnators along with the slight involvement of a war between the Demon Realm and the Creation Realm. Slow burn story; expect the story to be long with plot being introduced as it goes along. The story will include a main character with an actual mind and personality that will create, learn, and even destroy as the story progresses with an emphasis on what experiencing the other side of most novels, a perspective on that one whimsical god that brings the protagonist from one world to another that is only ever mentioned in the starting chapter. [PS- This will be my first time writing, so advice, tips and critiques will be appreciated. The release schedule is a bit iffy and unreliable but will mostly be every Sunday]
