Chapter 846: It Made No Difference Who Became Champion
Translator: Henyee Translations Editor: Henyee Translations
The essence of the medicinal ingredients had all been extracted and imbued with different types of flame powers. It was now time for them to fuse together.
This wasn’t just simply molding them all into a ball. Instead, it was a process of getting the essence of the medicinal ingredients to fuse and react with one another. This process could be said to be the most difficult stage of pill refinement; even the slightest lapse in concentration could result in failure, which would appear in the form of creating a useless pill or having the pill explode.
Seven different types of flames revolved around the pill like flaming dragons.
An overwhelmingly powerful energy fluctuation erupted forth. The pill had not been successfully condensed yet, but extremely rich pill aroma had already proliferated outward for three kilometers while entrancing all those who caught a whiff of it.
“My God, is he really refining a spirit pill?”
A Pill Tower elder’s eyes widened with incredulity.
“This might be the most bad*ss spirit pill in history! There is a very high chance of failure when condensing such a brilliant spirit pill!” the flaming humanoid elder murmured.
The higher quality a pill was, the more difficult it was to condense it.
A pill refined using six different types of Divine Flames and one Holy Flame would be unimaginably difficult to condense.
Boom!
Another extremely powerful energy fluctuation erupted forth.
Xu Xiaolan had successfully condensed her pill!
A pure white spirit pill appeared before her. A vermilion bird materialized from the Holy Vermilion Flames that was revolving around the pill, thus sending pure life-force energy fluctuations rippling through the air.
Fanny’s eyes widened as she spoke in a shaking voice.
“This… The power of the Holy Flame has been imbued into the pill, and there are detectable pill energy ripples. This is a spirit pill at the pinnacle of the first-grade! I’ve lost… I’ve already lost…”
She took a couple of steps back in disconsolation as she shook her head relentlessly.
The pill that Fanny had refined was just an ordinary first-grade spirit pill, and anyone that wasn’t a complete pill refinement noob could see that it was inferior to the pill that Xu Xiaolan had refined. Before Xu Xiaolan and An Lin had successfully condensed their pills, there was a faint trace of hope left in her heart. What if both of them failed?
However, even that final trace of hope had finally been snuffed out.
She was not going to be the champion.
Even the ten elders in the stands were full of amazement.
“Fanny is already a top-tier prodigy among pill refinement masters, but it’s just a pity that she met these two inexplicable freaks!”
“She’s unlucky to have been born in this generation. If this was in the past, she would most likely be the best young pill refinement master in the world.”

“Now, there are only An Lin and Xu Xiaolan left fighting for the first place. I wonder who will win.”
All the spectators were discussing among themselves.
Everyone was arguing with one another about who would emerge as the eventual champion.
“I put my money on Xu Xiaolan. She has already refined a spirit pill that’s at the pinnacle of the first-grade, which is already the ceiling as far as spirit pills are concerned. Even if An Lin is able to refine a spirit pill that is also at the pinnacle of the first-grade, he would have taken more time, so Xu Xiaolan wins!”
“I think An Lin will win. Who told you he would refine a spirit pill at the pinnacle of first-grade? Have you forgotten about how he refined a fourth-grade spirit pill and made it into a third-grade one? Maybe he’ll turn this first-grade spirit pill into an immortal pill this time!”
“Are you serious? Spirit pills and immortal pills are completely different things! You’re dreaming if you think he can break through that barrier this easily!”
“Hmph! I don’t care! This is a god-like man who possesses one Holy Flame and six types of Divine Flames and can control them for pill refinement all at once! If this man is not the champion, then who is worthy to become the champion? The Nine Spirit Cauldron is a prize only An Lin is worthy of winning here!”
“The results speak for themselves. Xu Xiaolan has successfully condensed a spirit pill that is at the pinnacle of the first-grade, and she managed to do so before An Lin! This is already the ceiling for spirit pills, so her victory is guaranteed, and she deserves the Nine Spirit Cauldron!”
All the spectators were arguing, as well as all the Pill Tower elders.
Right at this moment, a thunderous boom suddenly erupted between heaven and earth.
“Howl!”
A dragon’s roar erupted.
Seven different types of flames converged to form a flaming dragon that soared into the sky, as if it were an ascending divine dragon that was lighting up the entire Pill City.
Above An Lin’s pill refinement cauldron, a spirit pill shimmering with seven different colors of light had appeared.
The light was exuding from the seven stars unleashed by the pill. Crimson as blood, purple as a demonic star, bright blue as the moon, white as the sun, clear as the air, golden as a dragon, and holy as a vermilion bird. All seven types of light and energy were extremely alluring, and the pill aroma spread forth for five whole kilometers!
All the onlookers swallowed involuntarily when they laid their eyes on the pill.
A powerful sense of desire welled up in their hearts. All of them suddenly yearned for that pill!
The Seven Star Meridian Pill was refined from combining the essence of forty-nine different types of high-rank spirit medicines. It had the effects of clearing one’s meridians, cleansing one’s body, and expanding one’s sea of vital energy.

However, everyone who saw An Lin refine the pill earlier knew that it was different. Its effects were definitely not limited to this!
“This… Does this pill even count as a spirit pill?”
A spirit pill that ascended to an immortal pill level was completely unheard of in history, but it was quite clear that An Lin’s pill was a little different from all other spirit pills. As such, the Pill Tower elders were a little unsure about what to make of it.
The flaming humanoid elder heaved a light sigh. “Even though Xu Xiaolan’s pill is at the pinnacle of all spirit pills, I can’t help but feel that An Lin’s spirit pill is on a higher level…”
The Pill Tower elders couldn’t decide who to award the championship title to, and all the spectators were also arguing among themselves. There were supporters for both Xu Xiaolan and An Lin.
The two of them had both refined spirit pills that were at the pinnacle of first-grade. Even though Xu Xiaolan had a time advantage, An Lin’s bad*ssery surely deserved some extra credit. Furthermore, his pill appeared to be on a higher level too. It could be said that there was ample reason to support either of them.
However, it was quite clear that the majority of people were supporting An Lin.
Just as the commotion erupting from the dao plaza was about to raise the figurative roof, a golden slip of paper fell from the sky.
The golden slip had fallen from the top of the Pill Tower.
The commotion on the dao plaza began to slowly die down as if all the spectators had realized something and their breathing began to accelerate.
It didn’t take a genius to figure out that the golden slip was the final judgment delivered by the Pill Sage!
One of the Pill Tower elders’ expression faltered slightly as it caught the golden slip of paper.
There were only three words inscribed upon it—An Lin wins!
An enchantingly beautiful smile appeared on Meimei’s face as she slowly descended upon the competition platform. She made her way forward elegantly before standing in front of An Lin, upon which she announced in a pleasant voice, “I hereby announce that the champion of this pill refinement competition is… An Lin!”
Raucous cheers erupted straight into the heavens!
Hundreds of thousands of living beings clapped and cheered as they called An Lin’s name with the utmost enthusiasm and reverence.
An Lin listened to the tsunami of cheers and looked around at all those scorching pairs of eyes, and he was momentarily caught in a daze.
Had he really just successfully flexed his way to the championship title?
At this moment, he was undoubtedly the most eye-catching existence on this entire dao plaza.
He had used his ability to win over every member of the audience.
Not just the audience, but even the competitors and elders were filled with awe and veneration.
Meimei’s eyes rippled like water, and she licked her sexy red lips as she spoke in a seductive voice.
“Congratulations, An Lin, this is your prize…”
Her lips parted slightly as she slowly approached An Lin.
The tip of her tongue peeked out minutely from her lips, and an alluring aroma wafted from her body, striking the onlooker with the urge to commit a crime.
Just when An Lin was about to slap her across the face, Meimei retreated before giving An Lin a seductive wink.
Boom!
An extremely intricately-crafted pill refinement cauldron appeared on the competition platform.
Countless people stared at the cauldron with scorching expressions. This was the prize for the champion, the Nine Spirit Cauldron! It was extremely rare for an immortal tool to be the prize of a competition like this.
This was undoubtedly the utmost glory and encouragement.
Clap clap clap!
The elders began clapping first.
“Congratulations, An Lin, on receiving the Nine Spirit Cauldron!”
Clap clap clap…
Raucous applause rang out across the entire dao plaza.
Even Grey had stood up from his kneeling position as he applauded with a reverent expression.
An Lin lifted up the pill refinement cauldron in front of him before making his way over to the woman in the Jade Barley Ink Garment.
Under the scorching eyes of countless onlookers, the two of them exchanged a smile.
“Xiaolan, I’m giving this Nine Spirit Cauldron to you! I hope you like it!” An Lin said with a smile.
A vibrant, enchanting smile appeared on Xu Xiaolan’s face. “It looks like you have a conscience after all. I really like this gift, so I’m keeping it!”
She put the Nine Spirit Cauldron away into her storage ring as she spoke.
All the spectators fell silent as their eyes widened again.
The elders were also in shock.
All the contestants’ breathing accelerated, and they felt like they were about to collapse.
During the competition, An Lin and Xu Xiaolan didn’t really communicate with one another, so even though they were both humans, no one made the connection.
However, everyone realized something upon seeing this.
There was no difference whether it was An Lin who became the champion or Xu Xiaolan. After all, the prize was going to be Xu Xiaolan’s prize anyway!
Why didn’t they f*cking say anything earlier?!
Everyone felt like a stupid c*nt for arguing so vehemently about who the eventual champion would be even though there was no point in doing so!
Grey had only just stood up, but his legs gave out from under him as he knelt heavily to the ground again.
He sobbed in a loud voice.
“An Lin, you’re showing off again!
“How can you be so outstanding even when you’re receiving a prize?!”
