Chapter 915: A Sect of Justice?
Translator: Henyee Translations Editor: Henyee Translations
At the Bai Hua State, atop the Xi Long Mountain, countless people milled around under a celebratory atmosphere.
On this day, the inauguration of the Xuan Qing Sect Leader was about to take place.
This was an exceptional prodigy of the Bai Hua State, and he was about to be inaugurated under the watchful eye of the entire Bai Hua State.
Countless officials and sect representatives headed to the Xi Long Mountain to offer congratulations to this up and coming star of the Kingdom of the Nine States.
The new sect leader, Duan Yong, was clothed in a dashing robe as he stood at the center of the ceremony. He was in an extremely high spirit, and an extremely vast aura exuded from his body.
He stood with a smile as he welcomed guests from all parts of the Kingdom of the Nine States.
The old sect leader, Gongsun Ji, wore a benevolent smile as he looked at the man under the limelight.
“Congratulations, Senior Gongsun, you can finally retire now.” A brawny man made his way over to Gongsun Ji with an envious expression.
Another elderly man with white hair and beard chimed in, “He sure can. Only a skilled master can give rise to such an exceptional disciple. We are all very much in admiration that you are able to produce such an outstanding disciple!”
“Hahaha… Mr. Liang Cheng, Elder Wu, you’re all far too kind. I only stumbled upon a diamond, that’s all,” Gongsun Ji replied in a modest manner.
Even though his words were full of modesty, his expression was filled with undisguised pride as he turned to look at Duan Yong.
Duan Yong was a disciple that he had raised from scratch, so he was obviously quite happy to see his disciple became such an exceptional man.
The pride of the Xuan Qing Sect, Duan Yong, wore a warm smile as he gave all of his guests a pleasant welcome. All of them were full of praise for him.
One of the representatives from the Great Tang Imperial Family said with a smile, “Sect Leader Duan, I have heard about you for a long time, and I have been completely won over by your peerless disposition today. How many men in this world can be as exceptional as you are?”
“That’s right! Sect Leader Duan is so young and successful. In my opinion, in the entire Kingdom of the Nine States, only Sect Leader An Lin of the Four Nine Immortal Sect can be compared to you,” a sect representative chimed in.

Duan Yong’s expression became more serious as he stated an objection, “Sect Leader An Lin is an exceptional talent and a role model for all cultivators of our generation! What right do I have to compare myself to An Lin? I only wish to set him as my target, and I will work hard to not be left behind in the dust by him!”
“To think that Sect Leader Duan is so powerful yet so humble. I cannot compare.” Another representative sighed with emotion.
Duan Yong didn’t reply to this, but he wore a confident smile on his face.
After a momentary silence, he heaved a forlorn sigh. “It’s a pity that An Lin is busy with his own things far away in the Heavenly Court. If he could attend this ceremony, I’m sure we could become good friends.”
All the representatives around him chimed in in agreement.
“You want to be my friend? You’re not worthy!”
A voice suddenly erupted across the entire ceremony.
Upon hearing this, all of the representatives faltered as they stared blankly at the new arrival, who had a huge white dog trailing along behind him.
He left a trail of guards in his wake, all of whom had fallen to the ground with their eyes rolled over into the backs of their heads and white froth pouring from their mouths.
Duan Yong didn’t even get a chance to speak before a general yelled in rage, “This impudent man dares to storm the sect and injure our guards! Take him down!”
All of the remaining guards charged toward the man.
“F*ck off!” The man’s eyes widened as a peerless divine might erupted forth, resulting in a golden ripple that proliferated outward, covering a radius of over a kilometer.
All of the guards, including the general who had just spoken, fell to the ground in unison as they frothed at the mouth and their eyes rolled back into their heads. Several tens of thousands of representatives from other sects as well as the sect disciples also fainted. Those who had fainted and collapsed had all fallen feebly to their knees, as if they were welcoming their monarch.
Duan Yong tried to repress his emotions, but his words still rang with barely disguised shock.
“Mr. An Lin?”
The man smiled coldly. “You’re Duan Yong?”
A warm smile appeared on Duan Yong’s face as he joined his hands in salute. “That’s right, I am Duan Yong. Forgive me for not giving you a proper welcome, Mr. An Lin!”
Everyone’s expression shifted drastically upon seeing this. None of them had thought that the legendary An Lin would suddenly airdrop from the sky in such a domineering fashion.

“Hehe… Scum like you aren’t worthy to refer to me by my name!”
An Lin’s body flashed directly toward Duan Yong.
Duan Yong’s expression shifted, but he was now a Return to Void Stage mighty figure, after all, and he immediately reacted to conjure up an extremely powerful crimson barrier before him.
A golden light encapsulated An Lin’s fist, and the overwhelming power of the earth erupted forth, instantly shattering the crimson barrier and knocking Duan Yong flying as blood gushed from his mouth.
Duan Yong was shocked. He didn’t think that his power would be so insignificant against An Lin’s strength.
He hadn’t even seen An Lin moved before An Lin appeared right before him with an expression so cold that it was as if he were looking at a dead person. A golden light burst forth from his fist again.
Boom!
Another earth-shattering boom erupted.
Heaven and earth tremored violently as a terrifying golden energy shattered the ground in a radius of several kilometers.
“Cough cough…” Duan Yong lay on the ground while trembling uncontrollably as he threw up one mouthful of blood after another. He felt as if all of his organs had been shattered.
With a foot stamped firmly onto his chest to prevent him from moving, An Lin was like a War God looking down upon Duan Yong.
Everyone stared at this scene in shock.
One of the most exceptional prodigies of the Bai Hua State had just been insta-killed by An Lin? Was he too weak or was An Lin too damn strong?!
“Stop! Sect Leader An Lin! Let’s be civilized and talk!” The previous sect leader, Gongsun Ji, immediately yelled as he hurried over.
All of the other cultivators also recovered from their shock and began persuading An Lin to calm down.
Duan Yong repressed the urge to cough up more blood as he asked in a placid voice, “Mr. An Lin, is there some sort of misunderstanding between us? This is the first time we’ve met, so there can’t be any vendetta between us.”
An Lin waved a hand, and Da Bai immediately pulled out a photographic crystal to record.
“Tai Chu Epoch Year 8578, 5th month, 11th day, what did you do on that day?” An Lin interrogated in a cold voice.
Duan Yong’s expression shifted minutely upon hearing this. He knew exactly what he was doing on that day, but why would An Lin mention it? Did he know something? Could it be…
Duan Yong didn’t even get a chance to speak before Gongsun Ji replied in his stead, “I remember. During that period, my disciple was out scouring out and killing the evil cultivators of the Bai Hua State!”
“Then did you know that he slaughtered an innocent family of twenty-eight just because one of their family members had ties with a demonic sect? And do you know that he raped a female cultivator by the name of Kong Zuili to death?” An Lin interrogated.
The entire place instantly burst into an uproar.
Duan Yong immediately roared out a denial, “That’s baseless slander! Do you have evidence, An Lin? All you’re doing now is throwing dirt on me through claims with no proof! I can swear an oath that I did no such thing that day!”
An Lin pulled out the Vermilion Bird Mirror from his pocket. “Vermilion Bird Mirror, is Duan Yong telling the truth?”
The Vermilion Bird Mirror gave a concise reply.
“They’re all lies.”
An Lin looked up at all the cultivators before making an announcement, “Did you all hear that? I’m here to return justice to those twenty-eight innocent souls! I’m here to show what a filthy animal this hypocritical man is!”
All of the cultivators’ expressions finally shifted as they turned toward Duan Yong.
Duan Yong was still rejecting his claims with an expression of grief and indignation. “Mr. An Lin, I have not done anything to wrong you, so why would you set me up like this? That object clearly belongs to you, so you can easily make it say whatever you want!”
“That’s right! Our Xuan Qing Sect is a sect of justice! My disciple has been lauded as an evil-slaying hero by the masses all his life! How could he have done something like that?!” Gongsun Ji also refuted in a loud voice.
An Lin put away his Vermilion Bird Mirror. “The Vermilion Bird Mirror is a Vermilion Bird Origin Treasure that possesses its own independent, sentient will and does not have a habit of telling lies. You can verify this with the Vermilion Bird Sect if you would like.”
“Besides…” An Lin narrowed his eyes and chuckled coldly as he looked down at Duan Yong who was still under his foot. “F*ck your sect of justice! You think you’re worthy of that title with scum like this as your sect leader?
“I’m not here to hold a debate! I’m here to tell you all the truth, then send this piece of sh*t to hell!”
Black sword projections swept path as blood exploded forth.
All four of Duan Yong’s limbs were amputated by An Lin amid a series of bloodcurdling cries.
“That’s all!”

Cybernetic Dragon
Idea Seven, or Inter Dimensional Explorer Automaton Unit-7, has had a bit of an accident. Hijacking the egg of a dragon rather than its intended target of a bird egg, it isn't fully in control of its host brain. Rather the two, dragon and cybernetic AI interface, must work together to survive in a hostile world of magic, dungeons, beasts and adventurers. The AI must deal with being a machine from a world of science trying to carry out its mission of exploration, while the dragon, Rex, must deal with being a cyborg living with symbiotic nanotech that sets him apart from other dragons. What adventures await them? Author Note: I tagged this story GameLit because it contains concepts like levels, classes, and dungeon/beast cores. But, it isn't tagged LitRPG because no one has status screens, other than occasionally Idea Seven who likes to organize data into blue boxes. It isn't a natural function of the world to display level ups or skill ups with an announcer voice. I mention this to set expectations, because otherwise I feel like LitRPG fans might be disappointed by my lack of LitRPG elements while others might be turned off thinking I have a lot of LitRPG elements. I think that if you approach the story with an open mind you will appreciate the gradual way in which the main character learns and expands his understanding of how the world works, but the game mechanics aren't meant to take center stage to the actual story.

Magic-Farming
A thought experiment gone out of control, inspired by kosnik4's popular story, Magic-Smithing. What would life be like for someone else who was transported to the world inside Magic-Smithing? Someone who wasn't as prone to encounter incresasingly dangerous people, whose life was a little less chaotic? What if this person was content with a simple life of farming? Tending to the plants, sowing seeds, and reaping a great harvest at the end of the year. Of course, he's also a data scientist, so he can't help but squeeze out the maximum possible efficiency of his time and the potential of his attributes. Who doesn't make excel spreadsheets in their spare time? This is a slightly more "Slice of Life" esque version of kosnik4's story. Hopefully lighthearted, funny, and as enjoyable to read as it is thinking of increasingly ridiculous skill progressions. Thanks to kosnik4 and Magic-Smithing for providing fertile grounds for creativity to thrive. NOTE: THIS IS A FAN FICTION, AND ALL INTELLECTUAL RIGHTS BELONG TO KOSNIK4. I'm a patron of his story, and love reading about what happens next in his story. I've tried my best to be as accurate to his canon science as possible, though it's not 100% feasible. Afterall, the story isn't even done yet! My plan for the releases is to release a single chapter a day until 3/7, and then release 4 chapters a week on M, W, F, & Sat. P.S. If anyone can figure out what the EXACT formula for Level XP is, I'd love to hear it. I'm starting to doubt my math and excel capabilities. I have an equation that is fairly accurate and stays close to his values, but not exactly the same.
