I Might Be A Fake Cultivator Chapter 1157

Chapter 1157: The End of the World
The pillar of light that descended upon him was extremely rich and dazzling.
It was more impressive than any pillars of light An Lin had ever seen!
Perhaps this was because An Lin was the only one paying respects to his ancestor, and the ancestor was very touched as a result?
After all, an ancestor that had been dormant for so long would inevitably develop a positive impression toward a descendant who suddenly came to pay his respects.
Ao Xiaowu was given a fright by this pillar of light. She opened her eyes and was completely dumbstruck by the sight of An Lin, who was in his turtle shell, and the Xuan Wu statue. “What the hell are they doing now?”
“Is he receiving blessings from an ancestor? He really is the descendant of a turtle! Looks like my guess was correct. I told you two not to talk, so you use Xuan Wu to annoy me instead? How rude…” Ao Xiaowu pouted as she put on an eye mask with a pair of glaring eyes printed upon it before lying down to sleep again.
An Lin was still basking in Holy Beast Xuan Wu’s light of dao intent.
He had already verified that this was Xuan Wu’s power.
After all, he had come into contact with the power of the Vermilion Bird before, so he knew what the level of power of the four holy beasts was like.
The light of true intent bestowed upon him deeper enlightenment in the dao of defense and the dao of water. He had even attained enlightenment in his Evading Turtle Technique!
The light of dao intent only completely disappeared after a long while.
An Lin wore an expression of contentment. Even the turtle shell on his body was emanating a mesmerizing glow.
“How are you feeling, An Lin?” Xu Xiaolan made her way over to An Lin with a curious smile.
“Fantastic!” An Lin was extremely satisfied.
His turtle shell began to disappear, but he was still basking in the dao intent he had just observed.
The Holy Beast Vermilion Bird was holy, proud, and epitomized purification and scorching heat.
The Holy Beast Xuan Wu epitomized defense and biding one’s time. Its dao intent was as vast as the ocean and extremely mysterious and unpredictable.
He had observed the powers of both the holy beasts on a profound level, and he felt like he had reaped significant rewards on this trip.

“It’s really strange that a statue of a Heavenly Turtle Tribe ancestor would be situated in the Ancient Tai Chu Realm…” Xu Xiaolan was a little perplexed.
“Perhaps none of the Heavenly Turtle Tribe living beings discovered this statue or were simply unable to move it?” An Lin speculated.
He flew toward the statue and tried to move it, only to find that it seemed to be connected to this entire world and could not be moved even a single inch.
This was very strange.
However, An Lin and Xu Xiaolan weren’t really interested in playing detective.
After making a lap around this place, they didn’t discover anything else that was worthy of note, so they decided to leave this place and continue on their journey. After all, An Lin’s disciple, Xiao Ze, was still out there somewhere, waiting to be found.
Ao Xiaowu continued to sleep and completely ignored the two of them.
An Lin and Xu Xiaolan flew into the air atop the black brick in order to continue their search.
After a short while, the two of them saw a burning continent.
This continent was quite peculiar. It was lined with rows of buildings, as if it was a town, and there were many corpses that appeared to belong to evil dragons in their human forms.
Crimson flames were burning with a vengeance. This was an extremely powerful dragon flame.
“A Dragon Tribe cultivator must have gone on a killing spree here, and it took place not long ago.” Xu Xiaolan’s brows furrowed as she assessed the situation.
“There’s not even a single survivor.” An Lin shook his head.
Even though the evil dragons of the Ancient Tai Chu Dragon Realm were their enemies, he still felt quite uncomfortable at the sight of so many ordinary living beings that perished in these flames.
Killing fellow cultivators was one thing, but killing civilians was going too far.
From the signs and traces left behind, it appeared that a Western Dragon Forest mighty figure was responsible for this. This was not much of a surprise.
Most of the cultivators from the Dragon Court of the Eastern Seas kept low profiles and were not known for creating a scene. As such, only a Western Dragon Forest mighty figure was capable of destroying a lavish town like this one.
An Lin and Xu Xiaolan flew around the area before continuing onward.

They flew over one tall mountain after another, as well as some plains, rivers, and lakes. They occasionally encountered some Dragon Tribe powerful beings from the Western Dragon Forest, but they did not encounter any evil dragons.
One hour later.
They found themselves at the edge of this entire continent.
That’s right, there was no longer any path up ahead that could be taken.
They were greeted by the sight of a boundless expanse of the starry night sky, as if they had stumbled upon outer space.
“Have we arrived at the end of the world?” An Lin looked out into the distance and murmured to himself.
Xu Xiaolan unleashed a flaming phoenix, which flew out into the starry night sky. After reaching about fifty kilometers away, the flaming phoenix seemed to have struck some sort of barrier, and it exploded amid a flurry of fire.
“There seems to be some sort of powers of laws isolating this place from the outside world. Regardless of whether it’s there to protect or restrict the living beings here, it appears that we won’t be able to break through it…”
Xu Xiaolan’s bright eyes rippled as she turned toward An Lin with a smile. “So, we really have reached the end of the world.”
A smile appeared on An Lin’s face at the sight of Xu Xiaolan’s enticing smile. “This place is only the end of this world. Beyond this, there are bigger worlds waiting for us to explore.”
Xu Xiaolan held on tightly to An Lin’s hand. “I want to see the ends of other worlds and every scenery in every corner of every world with you.”
An Lin’s heartstrings were tugged on by her words.
He stared blankly at the woman under the starlight. She was like a heartbreakingly beautiful Celestial Maiden under the moon.
“Ah… The stars tonight are so beautiful…”
“Can’t you use a different line? Hmm…”
They had finally found a beautiful place, so they naturally had to enjoy some romantic time together.
In the central region of the Ancient Tai Chu Dragon Realm.
A pair of massive golden palms, which seemed to unending, crashed down violently upon a black lizard dragon. Space twisted as a resounding boom reverberated throughout heaven and earth.
The black dragon let loose a wail of anguish.
The sound of flesh and bone exploding erupted at the same time.
Splat!
A Western Dragon Forest mighty figure fell lifelessly to the ground.
Its killer was a huge dragon that appeared to be an Eastern dragon, except it had a pair of golden bat wings growing on its back. The dragon pulled out a purple gem expressionlessly. “Ancient Dragon Empress, areas two and three have been completely purged.”
“Very good, Bao Folong, you can come back now. The spell formation can be withdrawn to a radius of five thousand kilometers.”
A mighty, indifferent voice sounded from within the gem.
Upon hearing this, Bao Folong spread open its wings before flying toward a certain direction at blinding speed.
At the same time, there were a few other living beings with terrifying auras converging toward the central region of the continent…
This was a peculiar ring-shaped mountain range consisting of ninety-nine mountains.
There was an inky-black, circular area here, within which there was absolutely nothing. There was no matter, no light, not even the concept of space. It epitomized the concept of nothingness.
There were tens of thousands of living beings gathered here, and some of them flew overhead in their dragon forms, while others stood down below in their human forms.
All of them were evil dragons from the Ancient Tai Chu Dragon Realm. If the Dragon Tribe cultivators from the Dragon Court of the Eastern Seas and the Western Dragon Forest saw so many evil dragons gathered together in one location, they would definitely become deathly pale with fright.
Dark Night Trident stood among the evil dragons present, and he hurled the immortal tool Star Dragon Eye into the sky, where it transformed into stars in the sky, keeping a lookout on their surroundings.
A female Dragon Tribe cultivator in a colorful dragon robe stood proudly above the inky-black area of nothingness.
She looked up at the starry night sky, and her crimson eyes were as clear and pure as glass. “This is our final chance. All living beings that enter a five thousand kilometer radius of this formation must die!”
“We would be happy to lay down our lives for the wall-breaking mission!”
All of the powerful beings gathered roared in unison, and their combined voices rocked the entire heavens.

On the Road to Elspar (Book 1)
The year is 1329. The Huntress' War has entered its tenth year, inflaming competing nationalisms and pitting the Confederacy of Caldrein against one of the continent's superpowers, the Tenereian Union. Desperately outnumbered, the Confederacy has relied on the prowess of its famed Caldran mercenaries, with highly-trained and experienced warbands returning from foreign conflicts to the defense of their homeland, and it is on their backs that Caldrein has successfully mounted a valiant defense for a decade. But they are losing, and day by day, with all the grace of a sledgehammer, the vast Tenereian armies take one more bit of Caldran territory, one footstep at a time. Sixteen-year-old Neianne from the village of Caelon has submitted herself to Faulkren Academy, one of the centuries-old institutions established to train the next generation of Caldrein's elite soldiers of fortune, to learn the ways of wars for three years before embarking upon the defense of her country. Her dryad family once hailed from reclusive woodland communes isolated from Caldrein's complicated mainstream society, and her upbringing leaves the shy village girl unprepared to suddenly train alongside other apprentices from backgrounds as low as the dirty slums of Caldrein's cities and as high as the halls of aristocratic power. Yet the war is eroding the norms and traditions that the Caldran people have long considered part of their national mythos, and the tensions within the confederacy that have long simmered under the surface - race, class, community, identity - are slowly but surely dividing its people, and Neianne must grow and discover who she really is, even as the war that she is steadfastly training for comes to its inexorable end... On the Road to Elspar is a fantasy quest - a work of interactive fiction wherein readers get to vote on what happens next at critical junctures - that is the first entry in a story that follows Neianne of Caelon, which first began on July 20, 2016. Originally a three-part in medias res prologue to a larger story titled On the Elsparian Road, it was eventually decided that this section - which covers Neianne's three years at Faulkren Academy - become its own independent story due to length, structural, and accessibility reasons. Despite this being a reader interactive work of fiction, due to logistical and verification concerns, voting will only be counted on its thread on the forum Sufficient Velocity, where this story originally began. As such, the content here on Royal Road serves as a story-only archive. You are, of course, entirely welcome to enjoy On the Road to Elspar as a conventional work of fiction, just as you are welcome to comment, discuss, and provide critique. But if you would like to participate in the voting, then I would be honored to welcome you on Sufficient Velocity. To facilitate accessibility and to ensure the best reading experience, this story-only version of On the Road to Elspar will be updated at a periodic pace, even though further content exists, so as to not overwhelm new readers on Royal Road. If you enjoy this story, wish to binge it, and/or want to participate in voting immediately, you may of course read all additional content via the link provided above.
