Chapter 1301: Getting Carried by Little Xie
A sword spirit?
Liu Mingxuan’s words created another massive stir.
Among all of the thousands of powerful beings and mighty figures gathered here, no one knew swords better than Liu Mingxuan. At the same time, many people were already speculating that the little girl was a sword spirit, so his expert opinion only worked to confirm their speculation.
“A sword spirit? How can he use the power of a sword spirit in that world? Hasn’t all of that power been restricted? Normal immortal tools can’t even unleash one percent of their powers, let alone unleash enough power to maintain a sword spirit!”
“That’s right! Item spirits should not have the power to come out of their weapons, so why is An Lin able to use it?”
All of the mighty figures were perplexed.
Zhu Shan immediately got to her feet as she protested to the five emperors in a loud voice, “Emperors, An Lin has already broken the rules by using the power of his sword spirit. He should be punished for this!”
“But there are no rules prohibiting the use of sword spirits,” Emperor Ziwei replied with an indifferent expression.
“My husband’s sword also has a sword spirit, but he didn’t use it.” Zhu Shan was unconvinced.
“The Dao Observation Space has its own restrictive power. He didn’t use it because he was unable to, not because he chose not to use it.” Emperor Chang Sheng shut her down mercilessly.
Zhu Shan: “…”
The atmosphere suddenly became a little awkward.
Zhu Shan turned to Liu Mingxuan with a guilty expression on her face, as if she was apologizing for bringing up this topic that brought further embarrassment to Liu Mingxuan.
“Why? Why is he able to use his sword spirit? My husband is more powerful than him, and no one can match him in the way of the sword. His sword spirit has been in existence for tens of thousands of years, how could it be inferior to that little girl?”

Zhu Shan was extremely upset, and she continued to offer futile resistance.
The Celestial Thearch laid a hand on the black divine tool and carefully assessed the situation inside before delivering a verdict.
“I can sense that that little girl’s aura is definitely one that is unique to sword spirits…
“However, she is very special. Under normal circumstances, my divine tool would be able to exert restrictive power on all living beings within it. She is instead exerting restrictive power over my divine tool…
“This is the reason why she is able to manifest herself even though she is below the Dao Integration Stage. Even my divine tool is unable to prevent her from doing so.”
A deathly silence in which even a pin drop could be audibly heard ensued.
Zhu Shan was completely dumbstruck.
The Celestial Thearch’s words were ringing in her head.
An Lin’s sword spirit could restrict the Celestial Thearch’s divine tool?
The Celestial Thearch definitely wouldn’t be lying in a situation like this.
In that case, the information he was revealing was a little terrifying…
Countless powerful beings and mighty figures turned toward that adorable little girl again. No one dared to say anything now. After all, the little girl on the screen was a sword spirit more powerful than anything they could comprehend!
As for Zhu Shan and Liu Mingxuan, no one gave a crap about them. The only ones with their attention focused on them wore gloating expressions and were taking pleasure in their misfortune.
Liu Mingxuan had suffered a crushing defeat to An Lin, and he had been thoroughly humiliated.
An Lin’s sword spirit was powerful enough to overwhelm the Divine Dao Space, so who could state any objections? If Liu Mingxuan’s sword spirit was so bad*ss, why didn’t he take it out for a spin? He wasn’t even capable of doing so!
Within the Dao Observation Space.
An Lin pinched the little girl’s chubby cheeks with joy etched on his face. “Little Xie, how did you come out? And why didn’t you come out earlier? You could’ve spared me a lot of unnecessary fear and alarm!”

“Heh, I was figuring out this world…”
Little Xie looked at An Lin with her dead fish eyes and a fake smile on her face.
“What?” An Lin didn’t understand what she was saying.
“Nothing. I don’t want to speak to idiots.” Little Xie waved a dismissive hand.
An Lin: “…”
An Lin was able to muster up a sliver of vital energy now, and he finally packed the coffin away into his storage ring with great difficulty.
Little Xie appraised An Lin’s feeble state, and a bold thought appeared in her mind.
What a perfect opportunity!
“Little Xie, I’m so glad you’re here. You’re the only one I can rely on in this cruel world.” An Lin held on tightly to Little Xie’s soft hands as he spoke with a genuine expression.
Little Xie opened her mouth, but when she experienced the warmth of An Lin’s hands, she nodded in the end without saying anything.
For some reason, she suddenly didn’t want to do what she was planning to do.
An Lin heaved a surreptitious sigh of relief.
That was way too f*cking close!
Thank God that worked…
Without his Divine Weapon Origin Energy, Little Xie was a ticking time bomb that could explode at any moment!
An Lin was extremely feeble right now, and he would make easy pickings for Little Xie. If Little Xie suddenly recalled some unhappy past events and decided to take revenge now, An Lin would be well and truly screwed…
An Lin held Little Xie’s hand, and they walked together on the cherry blossom path.
The light of the sun shone down upon them as the faint, pleasant aroma of cherry blossoms wafted through the air.
Everything was beautiful and serene, as if he were a big brother enjoying the sight of the cherry blossoms with his little sister. There was a certain warm feeling to this scene.
“Little Xie, you were so cool just then! Even Black Spirit Snake was insta-killed by you!”
“Am I supposed to be proud of insta-killing a tenth-stage Dao Body Black Spirit Snake?”
“Of course you should be proud! You should be proud of your ability to bully her regardless of what power level she’s at!”
“… No wonder Black Spirit Snake hates you so much…”
“By the way, what is your current power level like?”
“Hmm…” Little Xie’s brows furrowed slightly, as if she was pondering this question carefully. “Even though I can restrict this world, in order to ensure the stability of the space here, I can only unleash Spirit Nurturing Stage power…”
An Lin was a little concerned. “That’s still a little dangerous. Even Michael was able to unleash Half-Step Soul Formation Stage power after activating his holy spirit body…”
Little Xie added with an expressionless voice, “When I said Spirit Nurturing Stage, I was using your Spirit Nurturing Stage power level as reference.”
“Then we’re invincible!” An Lin was ecstatic.
“We? I’M invincible, what does this have to do with you?” Little Xie rolled her eyes.
“It’s all the same.” An Lin was extremely elated.
He was going to get carried by Little Xie!
Thus, An Lin continued onward with Little Xie leading the way.
“Be careful, there’s a cherry blossom poison formation up ahead.”
Little Xie suddenly reminded him before slicing the formation in half with a single sword strike.
The two of them quickly progressed onward.
“You’re so bad*ss, Little Xie!” An Lin cheered on Little Xie from behind.
Not long after that.
“Be careful, this is an extremely powerful slaughter formation,” Little Xie suddenly spoke again before slicing the formation in half with unrivaled brutality.
An Lin: “Let’s go, Little Xie!”
At a crossroads.
There were five different paths they could take.
Little Xie pointed a little finger down one of the paths. “This way!”
“Why?” An Lin was perplexed.
A pure and innocent smile appeared on Little Xie’s face. “I can sense a battle taking place in that direction. There will be more people to bully there.”
An Lin: “Let’s go, Little Xie!”

Sorcery in Boston
The timid daughter of some of the greatest spellcasters ever to have lived has found herself in another world, courtesy of magic gone awry. In Boston, Massachusetts, in the year 1935, she finds some kind souls in a hard era. In the heart of the Great Depression, as war looms around the corner, she seeks to find her place, and must come to terms with both who she is and what she truly desires. Author's Notes: Release Note: I recently realized what the hold up is. My current mental state is not compatible with the planned ending. If I wrote the ending according to what currently feels right, it will be a wretched, cruel ending that feels monstrously unfair and invalidates the work of the various characters... because that's how my life feels at the moment. The planned ending is coming out hollow and awkward, no matter how I write it, and so I've been bashing my head. I will finish it, once I manage to either brute force something decent out, or once my head gets screwed on straight. Audience: This story is not for young children - it contains some profanity, sexual content, violence, gore, and significant adult themes. Most of these are handled delicately enough not to upset teens or adults (hopefully), hence the lack of relevant tags, but it is nonetheless unsuitable for youth. It's fairly slow paced, and focused on the development of very human, very flawed individuals. Length / Completion Estimates: The outline currently involves two books. Book 1 is expected to be done with Chapter 43. It'll probably be completely finished by sometime in March of this year. I expect to move on to the far-more-lighthearted Of Gods and Dungeons (currently in progress / on hiatus). Afterwards, I may decide to redo Book 1, or write Book 2, or actually start sharing the story most dear to me, that I've been working on for several years now. Draft 1: Please be aware that this is first draft material. I do intend to come back to do a second draft after the story is complete. If anyone notices any issues whatsoever with the story, please let me know (pm, etc) so that I can improve the second draft. Writer's Pledge: I've taken the Writer's Pledge, meaning I'm commiting to completing this story. I'm a proud member of WriTE, a group dedicated to finishing stories. It will be done! Behind the Scenes notes: This picture was commissioned from an inked artist by the name of DanP. Up until the time of the protagonist's arrival, history has proceeded as before. Some places and characters have been borrowed from wikipedia entries of interesting figures from the time. I will make note in the chapter comments when such things come up. Naturally, I've taken a great deal of liberty with them. In interest of respecting individuals, I've either attempted to portray them as accurately as possible, or modified them sufficiently enough that they're simply an inspiration, instead of a real portrayal. I've attempted to be as accurate to the era as possible, but I'm not a historian. If you're aware of inaccuracies, please, bring them to my attention so that I can correct them.
