Chapter 1379: The Rescue Trial All Over Again
Feng Wuya was completely awestruck.
An Lin’s god-like figure had been engraved deeply into his mind.
Even the natural enchantment barrier around the Immortal Slaying Platform, which was imbued with the power of laws, had been punctured by the golden lightning. How could he not be scared?
“You… who the hell are you?!”
Feng Wuya’s body trembled uncontrollably, but he still tried to put up a brave facade.
“Who am I?” An Lin blinked, and he held onto his Golden Void Lightning Sword before pointing it at Feng Wuya. “So be it. I’ll at least let you know who killed you before you die. Listen up, I am the man who controls all lightning between heaven and earth. I am the Super Heavenly Lightning God, An Lin!”
“Super Heavenly Wind God?” Feng Wuya murmured to himself.
Crackle!
Lightning erupted forth.
An Lin disappeared on the spot, only to reappear before Feng Wuya a split second later as his sword fell!
“Heavenly Heart Fist!” Feng Wuya roared as he unleashed both of his fists, which were imbued with the power of the Heavenly Dao fragment and his will to break through everything!
An Lin’s sword fell, and his Golden Void Lightning Sword was like the sharpest weapon in this world, crashing down with enough power to slice through anything in this world.
The Golden Void Lightning Sword suddenly faltered upon clashing with the power of Feng Wuya’s fists. It seemed to be struggling and was beginning to show signs of crumbling.
A flash of ecstasy appeared on Feng Wuya’s face upon seeing this.
However, his joy was instantly dashed by the sight of the lightning pulverizing the power of his fists.
“No!!!” He roared as his body was inundated by the boundless Golden Void Lightning might.
The indestructible barrier materialized by the fragment of the Heavenly Dao was split open, and a massive gash was sliced into his Lotus Body before destructive lightning wreaked havoc throughout his entire body.
Golden Void Lightning exploded, creating a series of fissures in the Immortal Slaying Platform.
Feng Wuya’s entire body was charred black, and plumes of white smoke escaped from his gaping mouth. His expression was completely blank and stupefied, as if he had already lost his consciousness.

His body swayed before he thumped to the ground.
An Lin’s Golden Void Lightning cloak disappeared, and he also deactivated his three enhancement techniques, upon which he was instantly struck by a crushing sense of debilitation, and he too almost fell to the ground.
However, he held on through sheer force of will and planted his feet firmly into the ground.
An Lin stood proudly at the center of the Immortal Slaying Platform in his flowing white robe, like an invincible War God.
On the ground before him was Immortal King Feng Wuya, who was on the brink of death!
The figure of the White-Robed Exalted Immortal was practically glowing in everyone’s eyes.
Everyone knew that among the countless living beings of the Divine Source Continent, Immortal King Feng Wuya stood at the very pinnacle. However, he had now been dethroned by the graceful and compassionate yet insanely powerful White-Robed Exalted Immortal!
Yang Lingqian stared at the white-robed figure, seemingly in a daze.
He really had done it! He had delivered on his promise and defeated the seemingly invincible Immortal King!
An Lin made his way over to Feng Wuya.
Feng Wuya’s life force was extremely powerful. Perhaps this was due to his heaven and earth black lotus divine dao, but in any case, he was still hanging onto life by a thread.
“You.. you… can’t kill me,” Feng Wuya spoke with great difficulty.
“And why is that?” An Lin chuckled.
“I am the most powerful being in this world, and I know many things you do not know. You have no idea how much I had sacrificed for this world…” Feng Wuya launched into an epic story.
An Lin had no patience for this. “You better keep this short. Explain to me in ten seconds why I can’t kill you. My sword will fall in ten seconds if you can’t convince me!”
Feng Wuya faltered upon hearing this. “Ten seconds is nowhere near enough to…”
An Lin: “Ten, nine…”
Feng Wuya immediately spoke like a Gatling gun, “When the meteorite crashed down upon the Divine Source Continent, it cracked the sky of this continent. I have to use the power of this heart of the heavens to repair this world. If I lost the heart of the heavens, no one will be able to repair the sky, and this entire continent will be destroyed along with all of its living beings!

“Huff huff huff…”
The Immortal King panted heavily.
Speaking so many words in such a short time almost killed him in his grievously wounded state.
An Lin stopped his countdown and began to contemplate the Immortal King’s words.
The meteorite was actually a fragment of the Heavenly Dao.
It was not entirely impossible that the fragment would shatter the sky of this world. After all, that meteorite was a fragment of the Heavenly Dao of the most fundamental world, the Tai Chu Continent.
“You say you’re the only one who can repair this world? Is there no one else capable of doing so?” An Lin was still perplexed.
“Of course! My divine dao has the power to communicate with heaven and earth. The heart of the heavens will only accept me and allow me to use it. None of the six Kun Lun Divine Generals or the elders have the power to control the heart of the heavens. As such, only I have the ability to repair this world!”
A smile appeared on Feng Wuya’s face. “The place where the sky was shattered is located where the meteorite mystic area is. If I die, you can only be destroyed along with this world. This world cannot live on without me!
“I will be able to repair this world in ten thousand years!
“Live or die, it’s your choice.”
Even though Feng Wuya was lying on the ground, he wore an arrogant expression.
He knew that no one was unafraid of death.
This was his final trump card. An Lin could let him live, or let everyone die with him!
To his surprise, an expression of horror appeared on An Lin’s face.
“Ten thousand years… Ten thousand years? How could it take so long…” An Lin murmured before a bizarre smile appeared on his face. “Are the heavens playing a prank on me?”
Feng Wuya: “???”
Why was he so scared? It wasn’t as if he had to repair the sky?
Feng Wuya could see horror, conflict, and a sense of confusion on An Lin’s face…
Were they talking about the same thing here?
Why did he feel like An Lin was on a completely different wavelength here…
What Feng Wuya didn’t know was that An Lin had been faced with a choice. This was not just a simple choice between killing Feng Wuya or allowing him to live on in order to repair the sky.
Instead, this was a choice of whether he should leave the fragment of the Heavenly Dao here and let the Tai Chu Continent continue to progress toward destruction, or whether he should take the fragment of the Heavenly Dao for the sake of the Tai Chu Continent’s future but at the expense of the Divine Source Continent…
This was an easy choice, was it not?
There were countless living beings on the Tai Chu Continent, among which were all of his friends, family, and lover.
The Divine Source Continent was just a fleeting landmark in his life. He should just take the fragment of the Heavenly Dao and save more living beings at the expense of the minority here…
An Lin suddenly turned to the distance, where he saw a woman in a red dress standing at the summit of a mountain.
A faint blush appeared on Yang Lingqian’s face upon meeting eyes with An Lin, but she still waved at him with a smile. She seemed to be very happy for him.
A heartbroken smile appeared on An Lin’s face.
Even though he was only passing through this place, were the living beings on the Divine Source Continent not living beings themselves? Did they deserve to be destroyed?
An Lin was suddenly struck by crushing despair.
Why? Why did he have to make a choice like this?
Was this not the very same choice the Heavenly Lightning God had forced him to make?!
