Chapter 1480: Cooperating With the Heaven Crushing Sect
“Chen Chen? That’s the second heavenly disciple of the Heaven Crushing Sect, Chen Chen?!”
“My God! Didn’t he die during that battle against the Heavenly Time God?”
“Who would have thought that he would still be alive!”
Several dozen mighty figures in the Land of Eternal Light began to yell with excitement.
“Chen Chen’s not dead? Then doesn’t that mean our father…”
“And An Lin…”
The seven Celestial Maiden’s eyes lit up with reignited hope.
However, before they could inquire Chen Chen about the situation, he had already made his way into the palace, and the gate fell shut.
“The gate closed. We won’t be able to enter without permission.” Celestial Maiden Tian Xian was kicking herself for not immediately standing in Chen Chen’s way.
“That’s alright, we can try to contact our father via voice transmission talisman.” Celestial Maiden Tian Yu refused to give up, and she immediately tried to contact the Celestial Thearch via voice transmission.
However, even though the Celestial Maidens tried several times, no one picked up on the other side.
Just as how it had always been in the past hundred years.
“Could it be that only Chen Chen made it out alive while everyone else died?” Tears welled up in Celestial Maiden Tian Shou’s eyes.
What she didn’t know was that the Celestial Thearch was too busy hiding in a corner and sobbing to pick up his voice transmission talisman…
“Wait, we can try and contact An Lin! He was on the same mission with our father, so if he’s still alive, he might know where our father is.” Celestial Maiden Tian Yu suddenly thought of that shameless man.
The Celestial Maidens immediately began to dial An Lin’s voice transmission talisman. At the same time, they were all so tense and nervous that they could even hear one another’s thumping hearts.
Meanwhile…
An Lin had just come out from the conference chamber when his voice transmission talisman lit up.
“Oh? It’s the human piggy bank!” An Lin was very excited, thinking that she was going to give more money to him, and he almost picked up the voice transmission when his hands faltered.
“Wait, I’m still technically a dead man, and I have to reserve myself as a secret weapon. I can’t just go about recklessly revealing to everyone that I’m still alive.”

An Lin felt like this was not the time to blow his cover. Even though Lin Junjun wasn’t some blabbermouth, he felt like it was better to be safe than sorry and to keep things confidential for now!
He thought about it and decided to ignore it.
Thus, the voice transmission talisman flashed a few times before falling silent again.
In the Land of Eternal Light, the seven beautiful Celestial Maidens were about to shed tears of grief. This was the pain of having hope reignited in their hearts, only to have to it brutally snuffed out in the next instant.
Never would An Lin have thought that his decision to ignore a voice transmission would bring the seven Celestial Maidens to tears.
Meanwhile, within the Heaven Crushing Glazed Palace of the Land of Eternal Light.
Chen Chen sat down on his throne.
There were only four seats in the entire Heaven Crushing Glazed Palace. Everyone else had to stand. Even the Dao Integration Stage super mighty figures present were no exception.
Cyril, Chen Chen, and the Ancient Dragon Empress all sat down. The man with the alcohol gourd, Xue Yan, and an extremely beautiful six-winged Light Wing Clan woman stood beside the three heavenly disciples like guards.
There was one empty seat that was still waiting for someone.
Aside from them, there were five other Dao Integration Stage super mighty figures present.
Of course, this was not the extent of the Heaven Crushing Sect’s power. After all, a very large portion of the Heaven Crushing Sect’s forces had already traveled to various parts of the Kingdom of the Nine States to participate in the ongoing war. However, this was still the most powerful force the Heaven Crushing Sect had to offer as all of the heavenly disciples and their respective Heavenly Disciple Attendants were gathered here.
“I knew you were still alive, Chen Chen! How could a mere Heavenly Time God bring you down?” Cyril chuckled as he turned toward Chen Chen.
A faint smile appeared on Chen Chen’s face, and he was seemingly unfazed by anything, as usual.
“What did you do for the past hundred years?” Xue Yan looked at Chen Chen with an expression of concern, but her hands were still brewing tea for him in a series of smooth, rehearsed movements.
The Ancient Dragon Empress, Cyril, and the other Dao Integration Stage super mighty figures all turned toward Chen Chen with curious expressions.

Chen Chen took a sip of tea. “It’s a hundred years for all of you, but only a hundred days for me.”
Everyone was shocked to hear this.
Chen Chen then recounted his experiences within the strange space for everyone to hear.
Cyril was also feeling quite surprised, and he sighed with emotion. “That space should be the place closest to the essence of the Heavenly Dao, right? You should’ve stayed there a bit longer to investigate and research.”
“One day in there equates to a year in this world. I was afraid that if I stayed there to research for a while longer, the Tai Chu Continent would cease to exist when I came back,” Chen Chen responded.
Cyril had no reply to this.
In reality, there was not much time left for the Tai Chu Continent.
“There was one good thing that came out of this though; you managed to obtain An Lin’s friendship.” Cyril suddenly smiled.
Chen Chen also smiled upon hearing this. “Indeed.”
The Ancient Dragon Empress looked at the two elated heavenly disciples with confusion on her face, completely unable to figure out just what they were so happy about. Was An Lin’s friendship more important than finally escaping a hundred years of confinement?
Was there some sort of secret between them that she didn’t know?
At the same time, the Ancient Dragon Empress was feeling a little upset. She was a heavenly disciple, so why did it constantly feel like she was inferior to An Lin in the eyes of the other two heavenly disciples?
She had slain the Heavenly Speed God and mastered most of the Heaven Crushing spell techniques…
What made An Lin so special in their eyes?
She became more and more curious about An Lin.
All of a sudden, Chen Chen’s voice transmission talisman lit up.
He pulled out his voice transmission talisman, and his eyes lit up in a rare display of excitement. “It’s An Lin. An Lin is contacting me out of his own volition.”
A warm smile appeared on Cyril’s face, and he looked at the empty third throne before turning to the voice transmission talisman in Chen Chen’s hand. “Go on then.”
“The heavens… It’s not worthy of our trust. We can only rely on ourselves if we want to survive. Mr. An Lin has finally realized this.” The True Demon Tribe man beside Cyril also smiled as he took another sip from his gourd.
Chen Chen connected the voice transmission and spoke in a friendly, amicable voice, “Mr. An Lin, what do you need from me?”
Do you want to join the Heaven Crushing Sect?
“Hello, Senior Student Chen Chen.” An Lin also spoke in a friendly voice, “Can you teach our Four Nine Immortal Sect members the Heaven Crushing spell techniques for the sake of the human race?”
Chen Chen’s expression lit up with joy. “Mr. An Lin, I’m very happy to hear that you’ve finally thought things through.”
The Four Nine Immortal Sect was an extremely powerful sect. The Heaven Crushing Sect would receive a significant boost with the inclusion of the Four Nine Immortal Sect!
“Thought things through?” An Lin faltered momentarily before coming to a realization.
“Oh, yeah, I’ve thought things through. We can only forge a bright future for the human race if the Four Nine Immortal Sect and the Heaven Crushing Sect cooperate with one another! Speaking of which, are you going to send an instructor to teach us, or do you want us to go and learn at the Heaven Crushing Sect base?”
“You’ve already joined the Heaven Crushing Sect, so just come straight to the Land of Eternal Light. This would also be a perfect opportunity for you to get to know the other members of the Heaven Crushing Sect.” Chen Chen smiled.
The voice transmission fell silent.
“Um, I don’t think I said anything about joining the Heaven Crushing Sect?” An Lin spoke in a hesitant voice.
Chen Chen’s expression shifted. “Then what did you mean when you talked about getting the Four Nine Immortal Sect to learn the Heaven Crushing Techniques?”
“Er… What I meant was, for the sake of the human race, can the Heaven Crushing Sect teach our Four Nine Immortal Sect the Heaven Crushing Techniques?” An Lin paused momentarily before putting it into more straightforward terms, “In other words, can our Four Nine Immortal Sect learn your Heaven Crushing Sect spell techniques for free?”
Silence settled over the Heaven Crushing Glazed Palace.
Chen Chen: “…”

John then reincarnates with his AI in a new world where a System influences the interaction between Magic and Matter. With seemingly limitless potential and a game-like system influencing the world, the hero sets on his journey. --AUTHOR NOTE, PLEASE READ-- I will state here my promises to you, potential reader: 1. No harem! I don't trust myself to make a harem feel natural or healthy, I never met any person who has a personality that can adapt and live in a harem for reasons that are not monetary, so I can't draw inspiration from real life. Sorry!; 2. The enemies will not be bland and illogically mean. Some may feel like that at first, but I will take great care in fleshing them out, trust me. You may end up hating some, but you won't be able to deny that they had their reasons for what they did; 3. I am using a paid (and expensive) automated editor tool, and I take longer to write because I take my time in editing the stuff. I am aiming to improve and I will not shy away from constructive criticism, nor take offense for no reason; 4. Characters will die and will suffer, some will get over the tragedies and improve, others will not be as resilient. 5. This novel has a lot of ground to cover, it is neither a short story, a manual on crafting, or the script of some action scene. There will be both time skips and oversimplifications of some actions for the sake of moving the story forward. Time skips will be more prominent in the first 30 chapters. I will describe crafting processes and fights with more detail if they are essential for the chapter; 6. If I took my time describing something, it's because it is important. I hate novels that waste time describing useless stuff. If you skim over something, the chances are that something in the future will not make sense. I am an adept of "Chekhov's gun" principle; 7. I already have 31k words on my auxiliary documents, I have a plan for the story, and I will not be making changes even if someone ends up noticing some foreshadowing and figures out what will happen. The story comes first. 8. I have a wife, a job that demands 9h every day and courses related to my job (lawyer) three days of the week, it's unlikely that I will be able to do mass releases at all. I will have a healthy amount of chapters to be able to post at least 1 chapter every day continually. Don't worry. 9. I will read all the comments. I will listen to all you have to say and will try my best to accommodate demands as long as they do not hamper the path I prepared. 10. There is an arc that spans the entire novel. Each volume will be an arc in itself while progressing a little bit of the main arc. Every arc will have one or more main antagonists. I think that's it! Thank you for reading it all. Have an awesome time reading my first novel!!
