Chapter 1485: Final Sure-Kill Strike
Ye Ling’s angle of attack was exemplary, but she was too hasty and misjudged the distance between herself and one of An Lin’s hands. An Lin immediately caught on to this, and he advanced instead of retreating!
Ye Ling then saw a smile appear on An Lin’s face.
Only then did she realize that there was a shiny, golden palm hurtling toward her lower abdomen.
Bam!
Golden light surged, and the power of earth erupted forth.
Ye Ling’s body was bent into the shape of a horseshoe, and she threw up a mouthful of blood as her body shot back several kilometers to crash into the transparent barrier at the edge of the drill grounds.
“Sister Ye Ling!”
All of the disciples present let loose cries of surprise upon seeing this.
Cheng Yingxiong drew a sharp intake of breath. “This is still a sparring match, right?”
Dong Zhen nodded with a dumbstruck expression. “I think… so?”
This was supposed to be a sparring match, but why did it not seem like one?
The veteran disciples were given a huge fright, and the newbie disciples were trembling with fear.
They looked on at their legendary sect leader with horror and reverence in their hearts. He looked quite friendly and harmless, but he certainly wasn’t holding back against his disciple.
“It’s a cardinal sin to be distracted by what the enemy is saying in battle! I’m very disappointed that you would lose your composure so easily,” An Lin said with a stern expression.
His voice had only just fallen when a massive dragon constructed from his Great Holy Flame pounced toward Ye Ling.
Ye Ling wiped the blood from the corners of her mouth. She then shot back like a bolt of lightning, allowing her to evade the massive divine flame dragon.
However, a purple dragon constructed from the Demonic Star Flame then pounced toward her.
Ye Ling didn’t have time to use her Shadow Manifestation Technique and could only evade using even faster movement techniques.

“You are an exceptional assassin as you can flawlessly incorporate your Shadow Manifestation Technique and spatial skipping…” An Lin spoke in an indifferent voice as a blue flaming dragon and an invisible void dragon appeared behind him.
“However, your spell techniques are still flawed.”
The Setting Moon Flame and Heavenly Void Flame formed flaming dragons, and they roared as they pounced toward Ye Ling!
The four flaming dragons flew through the air, tearing open a series of massive, charred rifts into the ground.
Their combined attacks were gradually forcing Ye Ling into a dire situation.
“You don’t have much energy left after using your spatial skipping and Shadow Manifestation Technique so many times, right?” An Lin smiled as flaming dragons constructed from his Golden Dragon Flame and Blood Phoenix Flame appeared behind him.
“Your energy can only support you for short, explosive bursts, and you need to make conscious judgments and anticipate in advance before using your spatial skipping and Shadow Manifestation Technique.
“I’m using four flaming dragons to attack you from different directions. However, all of your attention is on evasion, so you have no spare capacity for anticipation and making decisions in advance.”
Two more flaming dragons pounced toward Ye Ling as he spoke!
Six flaming dragons hurtled toward her at once, sealing off all avenues for escape.
Ye Ling let loose a clear cry as bone-chilling killing intent transformed the space within a radius of a hundred meters around her into a realm of extreme frost. The six flaming dragons all began to slow down and diminish in size upon approaching her.
An Lin’s lips twitched upon seeing this. “What terrifying killing intent. Are you trying to forcefully break your way out?”
Just what had this adorable little girl experienced to attain a dao with such a heavy killing intent? It was even more exaggerated than Su Qianyun’s dao…
An Lin was suddenly feeling very sad as her master.
Right at this moment, Ye Ling made her final struggles like a trapped and wounded beast, and she really was able to tear apart a flaming dragon and successfully escape.

The might of a divine tool was no joke. Even if it was an assassination-based divine tool, it was still powerful enough to brutally pulverize a flaming dragon over ten thousand feet in length.
Right when Ye Ling was about to unleash her Shadow Manifestation Technique to approach An Lin again, An Lin stepped forward, and a black, circular abyss suddenly appeared beneath Ye Ling’s feet while exuding a terrifying gravitational force.
Boom!
Ye Ling’s body faltered under the monstrous gravitational force.
This was War God Xing Tian’s core spell technique, the Abyssal Gravity Technique!
Indescribable gravitational force threatened to crush her into mincemeat, and even the indestructible ground below her began to slowly cave in.
The bones in Ye Ling’s body creaked, and she was just about to unleash her spatial skipping to escape from the area encompassed by the dark abyss beneath her.
However, in a battle like this, a split second delay could decide the outcome.
Before she even had a chance to move, An Lin took this opportunity to arrive at Ye Ling’s location through the use of his Kun Peng Travel, and his fist crashed toward her chest.
A golden light as dazzling as the light of the sun erupted forth.
The space within a radius of over a kilometer began to warp and crumble around his fist.
Ye Ling felt like her body was going to be torn apart by the monstrous fist, and she threw up another mouthful of blood all over An Lin’s face…
She was knocked flying and hurtled through the air like a cannonball before crashing heavily into the transparent energy barrier.
Her body slid feebly to the ground along the barrier, leaving a trail of blood behind her.
Her disheveled hair had obscured half of her fair features, and she was in an extremely sorry state.
An Lin wiped the blood from his face as he continued on toward Ye Ling, seemingly harboring no intentions to extend any mercy toward her.
The surrounding disciples couldn’t bear to look any longer. Some of them were even begging An Lin to let Ye Ling go and end the sparring match here.
This wasn’t a sparring match; he looked like he was trying to kill her!
Ye Ling panted heavily, and her chest rose and fell with her labored breathing.
She looked at the man making his way toward her, enshrouded by divine flames, and she silently tightened her grip on her Sword to Send You Safely On Your Way.
“There are eighteen Four Nine Sword Techniques, and the difficulty curve is extremely sharp. There is no one in this entire sect who has successfully mastered the eighteenth technique. However, I know that there are actually only seventeen techniques and that the mantras for the eighteenth technique are just a load of nonsense…”
An Lin’s footsteps faltered slightly, and an expression of surprise appeared on his face.
Ye Ling raised her head, and her eyes remained bright and piercing despite her sorry state.
“There is no eighteenth technique. If there is, then it’s a technique that we attain for ourselves after reaching the pinnacle in our swordsmanship. After all, only a sword technique created by oneself and tailormade is the most powerful!”
An Lin’s heart jolted again upon hearing this.
“Master, did you know that I cried like an idiot after I took this divine tool in your stead from Emperor Ziwei?” Ye Ling’s eyes shimmered with tears as she gripped tightly onto her dagger. “This divine tool doesn’t belong to me, but it is my most prized possession as it is something you left to me. I had always hoped that I would be able to find you through the connection that we have in the form of this divine tool…”
Ye Ling released her dagger. Blood flowed from the corners of her lips as a relieved smile appeared on her face.
“It has been a very long time since I’ve experienced the happiness you brought to me… Master, this is the eighteenth Four Nine Sword Technique I’ve attained, Seeking An!”

Yet despite the battered prince’s failures, he has set into motion a series of events that will forever change his life. Meanwhile, Iskra has found herself at the helm of a far more favorable position and begins to forge a path that will lead her towards the first steps of a long road of revenge. Author’s Note: This is the direct sequel to the first Dark Lands story and as time goes on I will update the synopsis to help bring further detail about the story. For now however, I hope you all enjoy what is about to be written. Eight Years Arc: Eight Years have passed since Aurelius and Iskra have first met one another, and a lot has changed since then. The vast majority of Aurelius’ family has been slaughtered by the hands of none other than his oldest brother, a man that the golden haired prince had spent the past several years to hunt down and kill all in the name of vengeance. Upon his return, the kin-slaying prince has found that some things have changed during his absence. Iskra, his first wife and love of his life, has proclaimed that she no longer cares about the events that have been unfolding in her former homeland for the last several years and states that she is solely focused on raising her children. Yet it is through learning that the High Elves have taken a keen interest in the once magically-absent lands of Ranislava that Aurelius decides that action must be taken and thus he journeys south to learn more about what his distant kin are up to in such a backwater region of the world. Who he will meet and what he will do will turn the tides of fate, but in whose favor is something that only the Gods will know. (The Eight Years arc is something that was designed to be written in a way where people don't have to feel the need to go back to the very beginning of the Dark Lands story in order to know what is going on or who the characters are.)
