Chapter 1616: Meeting the Dark Spirit King
The blue fire ghost’s eight arms shot out quickly and reached Ding Xiaoru in the blink of an eye.
However, at the same time, a peculiar power appeared before it like an invisible fortress.
The eight arms instantly came to an abrupt halt.
“What?!” The blue fire ghost’s expression shifted.
“Hehe… No wonder you’re so arrogant. You’re a Soul Formation or Return to Void Stage mighty figure…” The blue fire ghost chuckled coldly before retracting its arms.
In that instant, it realized that these were not ordinary perpetrators, but it was still not fearful in the slightest as this was Tian Ming City, the Dark Spirit King’s territory. No one dared to offend the Dark Spirit King here.
“Hahaha… Alright! Seeing as you’re a powerful ghost, you can be exempt from judgment…” The blue fire ghost’s expression softened a little.
“Oh?” Ding Xiaoru looked a little surprised. So the lapdog of the Dark Spirit King was not so unreasonable after all. At the very least, it held a certain level of respect toward powerful beings.
However, in the next instant, the blue fire ghost pointed up to the summit of the mountain. “Kneel down and kowtow here to apologize to the Dark Spirit King, and I can allow you to escape judgment!”
A peculiar silence ensued.
An Lin: “…”
Xu Xiaolan drew a sharp intake of breath.
Tina swallowed nervously.
The same thought appeared in everyone’s mind.
This blue fire ghost was bad*ss!!!
Even An Lin wouldn’t dare to say something like this to Ding Xiaoru, but this Spirit Nurturing Stage blue fire ghost dared to command Ding Xiaoru to kowtow…
Ignorance really was bliss…
“You want me to kowtow to the Dark Spirit King?” Ding Xiaoru’s expression had completely darkened once again.
Rumble…
Wind and clouds suddenly surged between heaven and earth.
“Huh? Is it going to rain?” The blue fire ghost looked up at the sky as an indescribable sense of pressure crashed down upon its body.
“Hurry up and kneel down! You don’t have the f*cking right to get cocky with me!

“If you don’t want to kneel down, then come with me to receive judgment. The Dark Spirit King has just come out of seclusion, so you’ve certainly come at the right time, haha…” The blue fire ghost’s flames quivered with its laughter.
It was not afraid of anyone trying to hurt it. Killing the Tian Ming City guards was seen as a direct provocation to the Dark Spirit King, and it was a crime that would be punished by death!
“Hehehe… Alright, let me see if the Dark Spirit King can make me kneel down or not.” Ding Xiaoru was enraged to the point of laughter. “Lead the way. I’ll go receive your judgment.”
“Good boy.” The blue fire ghost sneered, “There are rules in Tian Ming City that no one can break. Accept your punishment, and perhaps you’ll be allowed to live.”
It began to hover toward the summit of the mountain as it spoke. At the same time, a ball of flames began to carry An Lin and the others toward the mountain summit.
A bunch of armor-clad ghosts still had their ghostly claws around their necks, and they accompanied An Lin and the others as they flew upward.
An Lin was suddenly feeling quite sorry for the blue fire ghost and was quite concerned about its future. Was it going to live for one more hour? Two more hours?
In any case, it had lived a good life.
Even in death, it could proclaim itself as the only ghost who had ever insulted the paramount god of the Ghost Tribe and commanded him to kneel down and kowtow! Just this experience alone placed it above countless mighty figures!
They soon arrived at the Tian Ming City judgment plaza, where all criminals were to receive judgment.
The blue fire ghost had already reported this issue to the higher-ups and had received approval to deliver judgment. Apparently, even the Dark Spirit King was going to appear during the delivery of their judgment. Perhaps it was simply bored, or perhaps it was looking for some entertainment.

Many of the higher-ups in Tian Ming City had been alerted by this news. Many Ghost Tribe powerful beings also flocked to the judgment plaza to join in on the fun.
The blue fire ghost was in an extremely good mood. Never would it have thought that this would attract so many important spectators. This was an ideal chance for it to make itself known to all of these important figures. Perhaps this would be the day when it truly made a name for itself!
Delivering judgment to living beings who showed disrespect to the Dark Spirit King was going to make its name known far and wide!
On a massive plaza paved by dark crystals.
There were already tens of thousands of powerful ghosts gathered to spectate the event that was about to take place.
There were all sorts of torture and execution stages on the plaza, of which there were several hundred in total…
The person delivering the judgment would do so according to the offense committed and assign the perpetrator to one of those stations.
There were many different punishments that could be handed out for dissent and disrespect toward the Dark Spirit King, with the most severe being a death penalty. Lighter punishments usually revolved around some physical torture.
At this moment, there was a monster with the body of a western dragon and nine twisted black heads sprawled over a circular throne, looking down upon the judgment plaza.
All nine of its dark heads belonged to different devastating beasts, and all of them exuded extremely terrifying auras. This was the monarch of the northern region of the Opposite Shore Realm, the Dark Spirit King!
The Dark Spirit King had just come out of seclusion, and its Dark Earthly Energy had been perfected, so it was in a very good mood and decided to spectate this event.
Among the tens of thousands of Ghost Tribe powerful beings present, many of them expressed congratulations to the Dark Spirit King and offered congratulatory gifts.
As for the judgment that was about to be delivered, they didn’t really care about that. All of them were pouncing on the rare opportunity to curry the Dark Spirit King’s favor.
“Hurry up!” the blue fire ghost yelled at An Lin and the others.
An Lin and the others were being “forced” by the ghostly soldiers toward the center of the judgment plaza.
“Kneel down!” The blue fire ghost yelled, “The Dark Spirit King has come in person to deliver your judgment today! It is an honor for all of you, so you better be thankful!”
The blue fire ghost spoke in a particularly loud voice, as if it was trying to draw more attention to itself.
An Lin and the others all remained standing as if they hadn’t heard what it was saying.
No one could see what they looked like underneath their black cloaks.
The tens of thousands of ghosts present were looking at the people on the plaza; some with cold sneers, some with disdainful expressions, and some were shaking their heads with exasperation.
“The Dark Spirit King has just come out of seclusion. They got some lousy luck.”
“I wonder if the Dark Spirit King is going to give them a light punishment to show its benevolent side or torture them until they beg for death in order to stamp its authority.”
“Hmm? They’re not kneeling down!”
“Hehe… Apparently, they’ve got decent cultivation bases. Looks like these arrogant fools are going to be used by the Dark Spirit King to stamp its authority…”
The Ghost Tribe powerful beings were even more disdainful upon seeing their refusal to kneel down.
The Dark Spirit King’s nine pairs of eyes narrowed as killing intent surged from its body, and its voice exploded like a clap of thunder as it asked, “Why do you not kneel in my presence?”
Ding Xiaoru raised his head with a cold expression on his face. “Who do you think you are?!”

When everything turns into a zero sum game of dog eat dog, they'll find that The Hunter is an all too willing participant, but he will soon find out that he isn't the only player of this game. First story I'm posting and I don't really have a cool synopsis, sorry everyone, but this story is just another LitRPG apocalypse. I guess the only difference is that the main character isn't a hero. He's not here to save the world, he's not here to make friends, and he's definitely not here to save everyone. He's probably what the villains in other similar stories would be actually. Just writing for fun, advice or constructive critism is welcomed, writing style prone to change. Warning: Incredible amounts of poor grammar, Gore, Profanities, Traumatizing content, and cliches(I plan to have multiple main characters, maybe this is too ambitious for my poor skills, but it seems like it would be fun to try, the other MCs won't show up until later on.) The cover image isn't mine I just found it online. It's a piece by Stephanie Frey This takes inspiration from a lot of great stories on here, but I find the beginning to be most similar to Blood Lust by DefinitelyNotJormlung. Starcraft and Warhammer 40k and survival world rpg by S_Conary will also influenced this (at least that's my plan if I ever get that far or finish this) Also please stay with me until chapter 3. I suck at starting stories, but have been told I get better as I'm further along.
