Chapter 1743: Super-Freakish Questions
An Lin would have never imagined that the hidden trial in this Spirit Patriarch Palace would be answering questions!
However, he wasn’t flustered by this. Instead, he was very surprised and delighted. When it came to tests of knowledge, An Lin was very confident. No matter what the questions were, he was prepared to answer all of them!
Thereupon, An Lin looked down toward the one hundred questions.
Question one: Anroki-oxide is extracted from a blade of Dark Soul Grass and mixed with the Foolish Dragon Grass based on the Spirit Void Constant. How many points of Condensed Spirit Shock can it raise the Yellow Origin Mini Spirit by?
A. 202 B. 281 C. 396 D. 438
An Lin: “Er…”
An Lin took a deep breath and looked toward the next question.
Question two: A Demon Soul Mini General of the Spirit Nurturing Pinnacle Stage ingests eighty-nine milligrams of Essence Soul Grass, twenty-three spirit-grams of Wind Spirit Flower, and one thousand one hundred and eight milligrams of Demonic Pupil Powder. How many degrees of sensitivity can it increase its divine sense by?
A. 909 degrees B. 8648 degrees C. 430 degrees D. no increase
An Lin: “Er…”
An Lin felt his head go numb as he looked toward the third question.
Question three: A high-energy Spirit Dimension Particle collides with a Soul Particle at one hundred and eighty thousand meters per second and creates a Gaodeng Three-Dimensional Eight-Door Flat-Plane Space. What magnitude particle quake can it trigger?
A. Level 3 B. Level 5 C. Level 9 D. no quake triggered
An Lin: “Er…”
Question four: A Soul-Spiked Alita Demon attacks the Mars Sparse Rock Combination at a speed faster than the Galaxial Dashing Dragon. After suffering five hundred and eighty-two thousand nine hundred and seventy-six points of Electromagnetic Spirit Soul damage, a Soul Rising Pump Decreasing Event occurs at ninety-nine point seven eight nine percent. What kind of Spirit Soul Dream Flood-Shot Phenomenon is caused?
A. Avoise’s Fall B. Heavenly Fissure Dust C. Longmont’s Invasion D. Yin Shadow
An Lin: “…”
He looked through the questions one by one.
After a long time, An Lin finally finished reading through all the questions.
Then, he was shocked to discover that… he couldn’t even answer a single question!

No, what he should’ve said was, he couldn’t even understand a single one of the one hundred questions!
Holy Mother of God… What kind of freakish and demonic questions are these?!
He couldn’t even answer one of these questions, let alone one hundred!
Fortunately, these one hundred questions were all multiple-choice questions. Thus, there was still a chance for him to guess them correctly. However, the probability of guessing these one hundred questions correctly was… one-fourth to the power of one hundred.
Even if he used up the luck of all his past and future lives, he probably still wouldn’t get them all correct.
He had initially thought that the Spirit Patriarch’s trial was very considerate and very cultured. Now, however, he felt that it was nothing but a horrible nightmare.
An Lin took a deep breath and turned his gaze toward the Spirit Maiden. “These questions… Do you know how to do them?”
The Spirit Maiden was also reading through the questions left by the Spirit Patriarch. There was a look of reminiscence on her face as she murmured in reply, “All of these questions are actually based on the research results of the Spirit Patriarch. They’re not the most high-level or high-difficulty questions…”
“Which means that you can complete them?” An Lin asked in excitement.
“I can only do eight of them,” the Spirit Maiden replied honestly.
An Lin: “…”
She was the powerful artifact spirit of the Spirit Patriarch Palace, yet she could only do eight of the questions?
As if reading An Lin’s thoughts, the Spirit Maiden explained, “The difficulty of these questions increases in a linear manner. Right now, I can guarantee my correctness in answering the first eight questions. As for the remaining questions, they’ve already extended into numerous different research domains. Although I have a slight idea about them, that’s all I have. If I follow my instincts and carefully perform some experiments, I might be able to calculate the right answers in a few dozen years…”
An Lin opened his mouth, yet he didn’t know what to say. A few dozen years? He needed to f*ck off back to the Tai Chu Continent in a dozen or so days! He didn’t have the luxury to stay here for a few dozen years!

Once the gates to the Spirit Realm closed, who knew how long it would be until it reopened again?
As though he had lost all hope, the expression in An Lin’s eyes became gloomy and dull.
He finally experienced the dread of being assigned a freakishly hard question.
The Spirit Maiden crossed her arms across her chest. Then, she delivered a killing blow to An Lin’s hopes. “Anyway, one naturally has to rely on their own abilities to obtain the Spirit Patriarch’s inheritance. Even if I know how to do them, I still won’t tell you the answer. Don’t have any delusional thoughts. Hahaha…”
An Lin became extremely angry as he listened to the Spirit Maiden’s taunts. However, as a trashy student, his feeling of helplessness wouldn’t be alleviated by his feeling of anger. In addition, he still had to endure the continual derisions from the high-achieving student, the Spirit Maiden. This was most likely the kind of powerless feeling that trash students experienced…
An Lin scoured through the laboratory. He wanted to see if he could find any answer sheets. However, he came up empty-handed.
Just as he was about to give up and fill the black stone slab with random answers, the storage ring on his finger suddenly lit up with a red glow.
An Lin felt a powerful intent ooze from his storage ring. He didn’t obstruct it. Instead, he allowed it to wander out at its own will. A ball of red light burst out from his storage ring.
This was a sparkling red skeleton!
The Spirit Maiden was given a fright. “What is that thing?”
An Lin was also given a fright. “Xue Mengmeng, why did you suddenly come out?”
That’s right, this skeleton was none other than the sentient corpse of the Blood Patriarch—Xue Mengmeng!
There was a look of melancholy in Xue Mengmeng’s eyes as it shuffled toward the Spirit Patriarch’s body. “I suddenly sensed a familiar aura. Who would’ve thought he still ended up dying…”
“You’re acquainted with the Spirit Patriarch?” An Lin asked in astonishment.
Xue Mengmeng nodded. “Not only were we acquainted, but we were also good friends too.”
An Lin drew in a sharp breath.
The Spirit Maiden’s slender body shuddered. Then, she shook her head furiously and exclaimed, “That’s impossible! The Spirit Patriarch only had one good friend, the Blood Patriarch. How can you, Xue Mengmeng, be his good friend? What a load of nonsense!”
Xue Mengmeng came to a sudden realization. It nodded and replied, “You’re right, the Spirit Patriarch was good friends with the Blood Patriarch. What’s that got to do with me, Xue Mengmeng?”
A bold thought suddenly flashed through An Lin’s mind. He patted Xue Mengmeng’s round skull and pointed toward the black stone slab. “Do you know how to do those questions?” he asked.
“Heh, asking a skeleton to do these questions… An Lin, are you really getting that desperate?” The Spirit Maiden couldn’t help but chuckle aloud upon seeing An Lin’s desperation.
Xue Mengmeng raised its head and looked toward the questions on the black stone slab. A dim red flame burst to life in its empty eye sockets. After a moment of silence…
“These questions are really difficult…” Xue Mengmeng remarked.
Disappointment welled up in An Lin’s heart.
The Spirit Maiden snickered scornfully.
“It might take me a couple of minutes to complete all of them,” Xue Mengmeng added.
Spirit Maiden: “???”
An Lin: “!!!”
“Impossible! Are you taking me for a fool? How is it possible to complete these questions in a couple of minutes?” The Spirit Maiden instantly erupted in fury. There was a look of doubt and indignation on her face.
She needed at least a few dozen years to complete all of these questions. However, this Xue Mengmeng—who had suddenly leaped out of nowhere—suddenly claimed that it could complete all of them in a few minutes? Wasn’t this an insult to her intelligence? Wasn’t this highlighting her to be a dumb c*nt?
Meanwhile, An Lin had become extremely excited. “Then hurry up and do them!”
Xue Mengmeng really did start to pinch its fingers and perform mental calculations.
Six minutes later.
“I’m done,” Xue Mengmeng stated. “I can guarantee that all the answers are correct.”
An Lin was overjoyed. “Xue Mengmeng is the best! Let’s go and fill out the answers!”
The Spirit Maiden laughed scornfully upon seeing this. “Heh, if you can truly get all of them correct, then I, the Spirit Maiden, will twist my head off and let you play with it!”

Nevertheless, it is a novelty to most, trying it out like you’d try sports or a game. The world marches on as scientists set out to study this new phenomenon, to use it for furthering our collective knowledge and to understand it.
