I Am A Prodigy Chapter 233

"Superhero Y?" The Southeast Asian man's lips curled into a teasing smile as he walked slowly towards the little boy's stall. He looked at the assortment of superhero merchandise on the stall, then proceeded to take up Y's mask. "Is it this one?"
Following that, he threw the mask on the floor and stomped on it!
"Chinese Kungfu is sh*t, and so is your superhero! Where is he? Ask him to show himself if he dares to!" The Southeast Asian man laughed as he kicked the mask away.
The little boy quickly rushed over in tears to pick up the mask from the floor, rubbing at the footprint on the mask with his hands.
By then, all the Chinese people in the crowd fell silent. They were filled with rage, yet could only blame themselves for their incompetence.
"You should stop performing such crappy Chinese Kungfu over here in the future. I'll beat you up every time I see you!" the Southeast Asian man sneered at the middle-aged man.
Right then, a figure approached the little boy slowly and stood in front of him.
The little boy looked up with teary eyes, swallowing the lump in his throat before asking, "Big brother, it's you."
Ye Lingchen patted him on the head and took Y's mask from his hand. "You're right. China has superheroes too. You must help me keep this secret okay? Can I have this mask please?"
The little boy nodded in a daze.
Ye Lingchen slowly put the mask on his head. He spoke softly, but it still clearly reached the ears of all those present, "Hey, I heard someone was looking for me?"
It was a very steady voice without emotions, yet under such circumstances, it made their hearts skip a beat and turn to look at him.
All they could see was a man wearing Y's mask standing next to the crying boy.

That man looked average, and the mask blocked out his features. However, he gave off a feeling that was not to be looked down on.
"Looking for you?" The Southeast Asian man was caught off guard. "You're Y?"
"I'm just one of them. However, since you mentioned that you looked down on Chinese Kungfu, I can't help but want to teach you a lesson." Ye Lingchen calmly walked forward. "I am practicing Chinese Kungfu after all."
"Y-y-you are...Actor Y?" one of the Chinese nationals finally asked for clarification.
Ye Lingchen turned his head towards them. Although they could not see his face, they could feel that he was smiling.
"It's really Actor Y?!"
"F*ck! What's he doing here? What a surprise!"
"Ahhh, he's my idol!"
"Can he beat that Southeast Asian man?"
"Have you forgotten? Y had fought a wolf barehanded. His Kungfu is very strong!"
…
The crowd immediately turned lively, with all the Chinese nationals looking at Ye Lingchen with anticipation.
As for the others, they had a scowl on their faces. The foreigners exchanged glances, then gave Ye Lingchen a weird look.
That was...China's superhero?
In person?
"What a facade!" The Southeast Asian man glared at Ye Lingchen and sneered, "you know Chinese Kungfu too?"
Ye Lingchen nodded in acknowledgment, then raised three fingers. "Three moves."
The Southeast Asian man scowled, asking seriously, "What do you mean?"
"I'll have you kneel and apologize to Chinese Kungfu in three moves!" Although his voice was still calm and collected, it sent the hearts of the Chinese nationals in the crowd pumping, turning their face flushed with excitement.
Such dominance!
Such excitement!
As expected of Y!
The foreigners too broke into discussion.
"Who is he?"
"What's he talking about? Is that possible?
"The Chinese people are great talkers. Bragging is one of their talents."

"F*ck, is this Y ripping off our Spiderman?!"
The Southeast Asian man's expression turned dark. He glared at Ye Lingchen like an eagle, with a killing intent flashing across his eyes. He lowered his body into a half-crouch, then signaled with his hand, "In three moves, I will have you begging for mercy!"
Ye Lingchen stood with hands behind his back, as though he never took the Southeast Asian man seriously. With a gust of wind, it made the atmosphere feel even heavier and chilling.
"You asked for it!"
The Southeast Asian man shouted, then dashed at Ye Lingchen.
Halfway through his dash, the Southeast Asian man leaped into the air, soaring towards Ye Lingchen. By the time he reached Ye Lingchen, his elbows were up and striking towards Ye Lingchen's face.
That strike made use of all his momentum and his strength. Combined with the strength of the elbow, it was definitely a move to kill, making it difficult to fend it off. Moreover, once he tries to dodge, the Southeast Asian man would follow up with a flurry of blows.
"Still not moving?"
"Is that Chinese guy too scared?"
"Y, you can do it! We know that you guys that go by Y are all amazing!"
"Don't let us fans down!"
At that moment, although the crowd was divided, all their eyes were glued onto Ye Lingchen's unmoving body.
The Southeast Asian man's eyes focused hard onto Ye Lingchen as he got nearer. The corner of his lips curled up into a bloodthirsty smile, as though he could already see the look of Ye Lingchen's defeated face.
Right when the elbows were only a half-foot away from Ye Lingchen's face, he moved!
He responded with a very simple punch that was quick as lightning, matching the attack speed although being late to act. Everyone could only see the quick flutter of the afterimage from his fist. That fist collided with the Southeast Asian man's elbow at an unimaginable speed!
Crack!
A sickening sound drifted into the ears of the crowd, one that gave them goosebumps and numbered their scalps.
The Southeast Asian man's body flew backward with his entire arm dangling. The bones in his elbows were shattered!
"How...how is this possible?!"
Everyone's eyes went wide, at a loss for words.
Some of the foreigners almost had their eyeballs pop out from their sockets, mouth agape, unable to close them.
In just one fist. Matching fist to elbow, yet the Southeast Asian man's elbow was shattered!
One should know that the elbow was the hardest point of the human body. Under normal circumstances, the fist is no match for the elbow. Moreover, this Southeast Asian man's elbow was most likely harder than rocks.
However, in just one fist, the Southeast Asian man had lost!
Regardless of speed or strength, it toppled the knowledge of the crowd.
"Again!"
The Southeast Asian man's eyes were bloodshot. He stared at Ye Lingchen in disbelief, both his legs stepping hard on the ground. A crazed look came across him as he launched both his knees at Ye Lingchen at the same time.
Crack!
Another bone-cracking sound could be heard and the Southeast Asian man dropped to the floor straight, with both his knees...on the ground!
"You!" The Southeast Asian man looked up at Ye Lingchen as his body trembled. The excruciating caused sweat to break out over his forehead.
He wanted to stand, but the dislocated joints in his legs only allowed him to remain kneeling. What more, the direction he was facing was right at the broken board with Chinese Kungfu written on it that he had destroyed earlier!

Year after year, decade upon decade. All to expand into the natural cave system the Vault occupied, building for the future. However, John knew what his forefathers did not, that everything he’d been taught was a lie. After finishing school at the age of ten, John received his standard issue pipboy. To learn the craft that would be his life’s work. A noble calling to ensure a future for all that remained of the human race. A quirk of fate saw John equipped not with the crude, clunky, pipboy model his father wore. That almost everyone around him wore. His looked smaller, sleeker, finished in a jet black sheen. And capable of doing far more than its drab counterparts. The world above had been ravaged by atomic flames, yet life clung to its bones. The Red Valley fared better than most in the century since the bombs fell. The clean water and rich soil protected by rolling hills. All spared from direct strikes, for the most part. Life survived here. Trees spawned from charred ground, misshapen, green leaves turned red. Along with simple crops, grown wild at first, then cultivated by the survivors. The scavengers of the old world were inventive, hardy people. All determined to rebuild in the ruins of a world they never knew. In the decades that passed settlements emerged. They grew, spreading along the valley floor. Reclaiming the pre-war remnants of the once industrialised heartland. Salvaging the robotic wonders of a bygone age to build their walls and work their fields. To protect them in the dark of the wasteland. But such things are uncommon in this world, and the rarer something is, the greater its value. And the worth of pre-war technology had not gone unnoticed. The last, real, power in this world rested in the mechanised hands of The Brotherhood of Steel. Forged from the mortally wounded old world military. The Brotherhood used its access to the weapons made for a conflict no one won to strike out into the wastes. Men and women were equipped with advanced armour, aerial transportation, high grade weaponry. Accompanied by the training, strength, and will, to put them to use. They established chapters and set up outputs far and wide. All dedicated to a single purpose. To ensure the technology left abandoned by its long dead creators didn’t fall into the wrong hands. Namely, any hands that were not their own. This is the world John escaped into. A place of horrors brought forth from atomic fire. A place where survival meant battling against the darkness. Fighting a war each day to get to the next. And war...war never changes
