I Am A Prodigy Chapter 381

Xiao Feifei narrowed her eyes in contentment and looked at Ye Lingchen beside her. She leaned her head unobtrusively toward Ye Lingchen, and when she looked at the shadow on the ground, the two of them seemed to be leaning on each other's shoulder. She smiled triumphantly like a promiscuous cat.
"By the way, Feifei, I just noticed that the first season of iPartment has been shot halfway. It's progressing quite fast," Ye Lingchen said.
Xiao Feifei hurriedly raised her head, but the blush on her face did not fade. She pretended to be calm and said, "Yes. We're planning to release it on New Year's Day."
New Year's Day is only a month away from then.
iPartment was like a slice of life television show. The shooting cost was very low and the venue was not complicated. As long as the actors' acting skills were competent, the shooting would progress quickly.
Ye Lingchen nodded before saying, "Has the timeslot been booked the broadcast?"
"We booked Durian TV, and it's the prime time from seven to nine o'clock in the evening!" Xiao Feifei said with a smile and a bit of smugness. "We bagged that slot because of Director Li's reputation and mine as well."
Durian TV was undoubtedly one of the most popular TV stations. It was the overlord of entertainment channels. Be it variety shows or television dramas, all its broadcasts are the highest quality. Therefore, the ratings were always high and it overwhelmed other television channels.
Durian TV's prime time, coupled with iPartment's quality, would certainly make it a hit. Ye Lingchen believed that his popularity will increase tremendously.
"Lingchen," Xiao Feifei called out suddenly. She looked at Ye Lingchen and bit her lip with a hesitant look in her eyes.
"What's wrong?" Ye Lingchen looked at her.
"Can you cook dinner for us again tonight?" Xiao Feifei said.
The others suddenly raised their heads and stared at Ye Lingchen with a scorching gaze. Hu Yifei had already leaned over. "Then... can I serve the rice?"

"Young Master Ye, there were too few dishes for lunch just now. Can you count me in for dinner? I'll go and get whatever you need," Wanyu volunteered.
"Young Master Ye, I'll help you wash the vegetables!" Lu Xiaobu said instantly.
"Then I will help you massage your back and your legs." Chen Chichi was briefly stunned but she quickly made that remark.
At that point, their mouths were still reminiscing about the previous delicacy. They would be overjoyed if they ate the rice cooked by Ye Lingchen.
"Don't make a fuss." Xiao Feifei had a stern look and she said, "Lingchen, I have a close girl friend who hasn't had a good meal for a week. Your cooking might help her."
"Is she anorexic?" Ye Lingchen raised his brow slightly and guessed one of the possibilities.
"Mm, it's anorexia." Xiao Feifei nodded. "She's obviously hungry, but every time she eats, she has the feeling of wanting to vomit. Her appetite is really poor.
"She's a very good girl. It's possible that she got anorexic because she was under too much pressure to film a TV series."
"Mm, okay. You can call her to come over at night." Ye Lingchen nodded. It took him little effort to do so.
"Thank you," Xiao Feifei said happily.
In the afternoon, everyone continued to shoot at the venue. Ye Lingchen had nothing to do, so he went downstairs and wandered around.
Capital City Development Zone was full of high-rise buildings and was a modern city in the purest sense. It was unlike old cities whereby many old buildings would have to be maintained, and it was not as congested as old cities too.
On the street were men and women in fashionable clothing coming and going. On occasion, he would hear murmurs about Superman Y's heroic diving into the water to rescue people earlier that morning.
Following the map's instructions, Ye Lingchen walked to a nearby library. He was about to try his luck and see whether he could find books that were useful to him.

The first floor of the library was filled with literary books, such as the Four Classic Novels1. In the novel column, Ye Lingchen also saw the published book version of Celestial Bane, which was his own creation. Many readers were sitting on the ground, holding the books and reading them with interest.
The second floor contained books from elementary school up till university. The entire floor is full of books, and Ye Lingchen skipped it completely.
On the third floor were some miscellaneous books, like parenting books, health and fitness, and other topics. Many people were there reading those books.
Ye Lingchen slowed down and walked around the third floor. He was prepared to see if he could gain some knowledge that day.
His knowledge was already very wide and he had read all those regular books. All that was left for him was curiosity.
After passing by the bookshelves one by one, Ye Lingchen's footsteps stopped at architecture.
It would never hurt to have extra knowledge so he might as well have a look at them since he would not be on the losing end anyway.
Ye Lingchen thought about it and randomly took a book from the shelf.
"Self-studying Exterior Design, Architectural proficiency +1."
"Self-studying Exterior Design, Architectural proficiency +1."
"Self-studying Architectural Drawing, Architectural proficiency +1."
"Self-studying Architectural Drawing, Architectural proficiency +1."
"Self-studying Architectural Mechanics, Architectural proficiency +1."
...
Soon, piles of architectural knowledge were poured into Ye Lingchen's mind. His proficiency increased at a rapid rate.
After reading the eighth book, Ye Lingchen's hand paused slightly—his proficiency in architecture had reached 100%!
He had one more skill that could be upgraded.
Indeed, he did that just to get more upgrade options!
Naturally, Ye Lingchen would not use all that knowledge, but using it to have upgrade options would bring about some surprises for him!
With a smile, Ye Lingchen put the book back on the shelf, glanced at it, then paused slightly. He then walked toward another area.
That area was filled with Buddhist and Taoist scriptures.
Reading Buddhist scriptures would bring about an increase in Dharma proficiency, but he had no idea know what kind of proficiency would increase if he read Taoist scriptures.
Holding on to the mentality of giving things a try, Ye Lingchen picked up a copy of Big Dipper Scripture.
"Self-study Big Dipper Scripture, Qi Refinement proficiency +1."
'F*CK!'
Looking at the system's prompts, Ye Lingchen's entire body trembled and he almost jumped up.
He calmed himself down and looked carefully.
Qi Refinement!
It really was Qi refinement!
'F*CK! This is awesome!'
Perhaps his heartbeat was beating too wildly because he found it rather difficult to calm down even after taking a few deep breaths.
It was too shocking and too appalling! Refining Qi really was capable in that world!
Having martial arts skills was already shocking enough! At that point, he could even start cultivating immortality!
In such a short time, his proficiency in Qi refinement had reached six percent, but it did not increase anymore.
At the same time, Ye Lingchen's mind was also filled with a couple of other peculiar things, such as meditation postures, how to exhale, how to sense the world's spiritual Qi, and how to control the Qi in his body.
Those were all very mysterious things, and if not for the system's awesomeness, Ye Lingchen would probably think that all of it was fake.
Ye Lingchen looked at the bookshelf full of Taoist books and his heart fired up. 'The path to cultivation, here I come...'
For the uninitiated, they are: Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Journey to the West, Water Margin, and Dream of the Red Chamber.

Decompose!
Dear diary. When you read stories about some people missing and returning after years of absence claiming they were living in another world, your first reaction is to scoff and dismiss a story as a tall tale, right? I know I did. All the time. Until it happened to me and I no longer did. That day was today. Some god of thunder smote me. If it were Chris Hemsworth, I wouldn't mind but it was some barbaric Hitite god that abaondned Earth some four millennia ago. Yes, what can I say? I love the seventh art. I have more hours watching movies than any other activity, including sleep. What? Do you think I'm exaggerating? Maybe I am. I'll really miss hollywood the most. And my biggest regret is that I never got to visit the holy city of cinema. I did not come to another world to be a hero even though there was hints that they hoped I'd save it. I did not come with overpowered abilities able to, dunno, leap tall castles in a single bound, faster than a speeding crossbow bolt, be more powerful than a eight-horse carriage, the bounds. No. After the asshole god that murdered me brought me to his world, he gave me some boons from his discount bin and "The Power of my Soul (tm)". Forgive my french, I hope you understand I am rather upset at dying. And he somehow decided that my power is to recycle stuff. How awesome is that? Not much at first, I must admit. At least I got all my camping stuff and equipment with me. There's no lycra in the other world. I'll make it someday, but that day is not today. So here I am. In another world, in the middle of nowhere. I'm no heroine. As the song goes, I'm your basic average girl. And I'm assumed to be here to save the world. But almost everything can stop me, because I'm not named Kim. Wish me luck, diary. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ This novel is going have the following features: slow-paced slice-of-life No GameLit / LitRPG elements. Movie references. Sandra likes the seventh art. Journal / diary style crafting (includes chemistry, engineering and metallurgy) low magic technological advancement (for Sandra, at least. She is not against sharing though) personal relations clash of perception between the modern and ancient customs. bits of tension, fighting, and plot here and there. I won't repeat myself though. Once she crafts a good batch of soap, for example, she'll just note, "I crafted soap again." Once it is estabilished how she obtains compound X, compound X2 that is obtainable from the same process will also just be mentioned. I'll try to be as realistic as I can with the crafting, chemistry, and technology. Cover: Public Domain Image by StockSnap from Pixabay. No attribution required but we do it anyway.

The Calculator - Supervillainess Time Loop
What makes a terrifying villain? Is it ruthlessness? Is it how powerful they are and how many buildings they can down in one blow? Is it how hard they are to kill, contain, or get rid of in any manner? Is it their knowledge of a hero’s true identity in a world where secrets must be kept? Or is it perhaps how they seem to be perfect in all their actions, defeating the hero at every step of the way throughout to the last one, only to humiliate them one last time before declaring themselves the winner in the grand scheme of things? Isabella Blair is perfect. She knows all your moves before you even make them. All your ambushes are faced with traps and she dodges all your blows like it’s child’s play. Catching her is impossible because she’s always ten steps ahead of you. She says she calculated everything, but she messes up in every fight. She loses far more than she wins, sometimes a hundred times for just one small victory. Yet, she is perfect. How is that possible, you may ask. That’s because she has the uncanny ability to return to the past whenever she makes a mistake. All that’s left in the end can only be what’s perfect if all the realities in which you’ve lost are gone, after all. And that makes for one hell of a terrifying profile. Crossposting on ScribbleHub, SpaceBattles, and Wattpad. Don't mind the "Pre-Rewrite" Volume. It is there for reference until the story catches up to the chapter count via the Rewrite (and to justify the current reviews as there would be no context to them otherwise). If you are a first-time reader, feel free to start from the other Volume.

Many Minded
Synopsis: Issa Pyxis, Spacer orphan and illegal heretic, graduated from living on the streets to running with a gang years ago, but now it looks like that’s all going to change. Her inheritance, more specifically who—or what—she is, is catching up with her, and on a planet with the Emperor’s inquisitors slinking around in every shadow, nowhere is safe and no one can be trusted. What will she do? A cyberpunk story about identity, loneliness, covert infiltration, evil dystopias, and much more! Features: - Cyborgs and cyberpunk galore - This is indented to be somewhat “rational” and “hard” Sci-Fi story - Original Fiction however parts of my worldbuilding are inspired by other Sci-Fi stories (duh) Rationale: The future is cool, AIs are kickass, and questions about consciousness are simultaneously existential and yet unanswered. To me, this story is a vehicle for exploring these topics, and also, I wanted to write a story where the protagonist was unafraid of themselves and where their self is more like a git-repo than a meat computer. Disclaimer: This story primarily takes place in what we’d describe as a “cyberpunk dystopia” with some extra technocracy, autocracy, and religious fervor thrown into the mix, so there will be some “grittiness” in this story. Caveat emptor. Also, [insert your favorite boilerplate “views expressed” disclaimer here]. I shouldn’t need to say this, but the main character and other characters in my story can be wrong on occasion (gasp!) and the way they view the world isn’t always objective truth (if such a thing even exists) nor do their views and opinions necessarily reflect the views of me, the author.
