I Am A Prodigy Chapter 457

Qiao Shanshan's lips trembled. "I..."
Ye Lingchen interrupted her directly and said curtly, "Remove the cloth covering your face."
"Re... Remove it?" Qiao Shanshan's body stiffened and a convoluted expression appeared in her eyes.
"How am I going to do the makeup if you don't take it off?" Ye Lingchen's tone was flat and there was an absence of emotion. "Hurry up."
"Can makeup really save my face?" Qiao Shanshan's placed her hand on the cloth covering her face and her eyes had a pleading look.
"I can do what I said I can do!"
Ye Lingchen and Qiao Shanshan looked at each other. "If you don't believe me, you can choose to leave out of your own accord. I won't force it."
Qiao Shanshan's gaze wavered for a bit, but she was resolute in the end. "Okay, I believe you!"
After speaking, she closed her eyes and took off the black cloth from her face.
She was undoubtedly the center of attention at that moment. It caused a stir in the audience at that moment!
"Oh f*ck, it really is Qiao Shanshan!"
"She's disfigured! Her face was originally very beautiful. It's such a pity!"
"Sigh, she used to be my goddess, but I never expected her to be like this."
"This is just too miserable. She's even scarier than in the pictures. What a pity!"
"The Y Cosmetics brand will take a hit this time. How can makeup save a face like this?"
"No matter how much makeup you put on a ghost, you can never make it a human being!"
...
The crowd was abuzz with discussion and some even took out their phone to start taking pictures.
Qiao Shanshan's entire body seemed on the verge of collapse. She had nothing to lose anymore and therefore no longer hid herself.
One could perceive everything even more clearly at such a close distance. It was even more shocking than the pictures depicted. Since the scar was a result of a burn, it was dark red, pitted, and completely destroyed.

"Is... Is it still possible to do makeup on my face?" Qiao Shanshan bit her lip and stared at Ye Lingchen with her beautiful eyes.
"Yes!"
Simple though that reply was, it made Qiao Shanshan's eyes lit up suddenly with traces of disbelief. She froze in a daze on the spot for a moment.
"Come upstairs with me." Ye Lingchen said faintly. "Yunxi, come up with me as well."
The three of them went upstairs and closed the door, leaving behind a large group of people staring blankly downstairs.
"Can they really do makeup on her?"
"What the hell are they doing with all that mysteriousness?"
"Motherf*cker. I'll be waiting here downstairs. I don't believe they can make her beautiful."
...
Individuals from major makeup stores frowned slightly too.
"They put on a very good act and made it look as though they were really able to put on makeup."
"Doing that just proves that they're feeling very guilty. We'll wait here!"
"Heh. This is just a last-ditch effort."
Makeup and equipment were all available upstairs. Ye Lingchen invited Qiao Shanshan to sit down and carefully scrutinized her face.
"Raise your head." Ye Lingchen hooked Qiao Shanshan's chin with his hand and tucked her beautiful hair behind her ears.
"What… What do you think?" Qiao Shanshan's voice was trembling uneasily.
She knew how she looked, so it felt very uncomfortable—as though countless ants were crawling on her body—when someone stared at her like that. Her face became very hot.
"Not bad!"
"Not bad?" Qiao Shanshan's voice changed. "What do you mean?"
"The location of the scar is quite good. It just so happens that half of the face is intact and half of the face is burned," Ye Lingchen remarked nonchalantly.
"Are you mocking me?"
"No. I'm just telling you. Everyone must learn to face themselves!" Ye Lingchen paused, then said, "It's not difficult to face up to your strengths, but the most important thing to do is to face up to your own shortcomings. That is the best to deal with one's shortcomings."

"Deal with it? How am I supposed to deal with it? What happens if I face up to it?" Qiao Shanshan lamented.
"Is running away the solution? If you aren't even brave enough to face your flaws, other people will definitely laugh at you!"
Ye Lingchen's words shot down Qiao Shanshan's tone and caused her to bite her lip. "You... Do you have a solution?"
"Just wait and see."
Ye Lingchen glanced at Zhang Yunxi after he finished speaking. "Yun Xi, help me to keep her hair in place. Watching closely beside me. I'll teach you how to apply detailed makeup."
The detailed makeup that Ye Lingchen spoke of was different from the detailed makeup used by ordinary people.
His detailed makeup was more refined. It no longer focused on any particular part but combined each aspect to work out the best makeup plan.
Everyone had different facial features, such as single eyelids, double eyelids, or eyebrows with different thicknesses. Even a beauty mole on the face can sometimes have its own effect.
It either required some changes or adding a few more strokes of the makeup pen.
It was no longer just simple makeup, but a technique that Ye Lingchen came up with by combining it with Transfiguration and finding the middle ground. That way, it was easier for people to accept.
Zhang Yunxi was inherently a clever person and coupled with her earnest hard work, she had already greatly improved her makeup skills. Most of the stuff Ye Lingchen taught her were already mastered, otherwise Y Cosmetics—despite its big reputation—could not last long without technology.
According to Ye Lingchen's estimation, Zhang Yunxi's proficiency had reached more than 65 percent!
'Of course, the most important point was that the master did well' Ye Lingchen did not forget to praise himself deep down.
Once Zhang Yunxi mastered the art of detailed makeup, her skills could certainly increase significantly yet again. In the future, Ye Lingchen did not need to manage Y Cosmetics anymore—Zhang Yunxi could do it all by herself.
Outside the door were several spies from the other cosmetics stores. It was only reasonable that Ye Lingchen went upstairs with Zhang Yunxi instead of teaching her in the open.
Ye Lingchen explained everything using Qiao Shanshan's face. It had to be acknowledged that Qiao Shanshan's face was indeed a very suitable teaching material for him to elucidate his hybrid technique. The reason was that there were too many details on her face that needed attention.
"This red dot is darker in color, so you can add another stroke there, but it's lighter here so you can go to the next step of concealing it. With this slight pitting here, you can..." The equipment Ye Lingchen used most often is the makeup pen with the thinnest tip. He dipped the pen with various shades of rouge gouache.
Zhang Yunxi listened attentively, but as Ye Lingchen applied the makeup, the surprise in her eyes became more and more evident until it finally turned into shock!
She watched Ye Lingchen cover up the flaws on Qiao Shanshan's face with just a few strokes. It could no longer be considered applying makeup, but creating a work of art!
This shock of witnessing the change happen right before her eyes made her tremendously excited.
However, Ye Lingchen's remarks were far from music to Qiao Shanshan's ears. She felt uneasy all around, but despite her desire to argue with Ye Lingchen, she did not dare to be impudent as she was relying on his charity.
She had a rather favorable impression of Ye Lingchen when she drank her chicken soup earlier, but after finishing the soup, she could only stare at Ye Lingchen with her angry eyes.
After some time, Ye Lingchen finally said, "It's done."
Ye Lingchen's faint voice sounded like thunder in Qiao Shanshan's ears, causing her delicate body to tremble violently.
"Have a look in the mirror yourself."

The life of a teenage hellworlder
We've all heard of the trope that Earth is a deadly planet by galactic standard; and has thus honed humanity into a ruthless species bent on surviving at all costs. As it turns out, that trope is true. Sapient species that evolve on safe planets develop to be peaceful and compassionate - and the ones that do on dangerous ones become violent and selfish out of need - usually wiping themselves out. But obviously, not every violent species drives itself to extinction - resulting in them being feared and ostracized - including humans. The life of a teenage hellworlder is a sci-fi slice of life story that revolves mainly around Thomas, a sixteen-year-old New Britannian attending a Xeno high school, who befriends a lonely apex predator named Javqua. Getting written by two amateur teen writers, things may sometimes be inconsistent or be confusing - feel free to comment and point out these problems. Gore, profanity, and traumatizing content tags are only for minor events in the story and do not happen often. Chapters are around 1k - 2k words - pretty short, but that's because we're all busy with our own lives and school. Trust us - we would gladly upload 5k word chapters if we could. We tend to upload new chapters every Saturday or Sunday. Please consider supporting us on Patreon!

The Chronicles of The Green wizard
Garion Greensleeves always was an oddity. The first son of High-Wizard Garius Greensleeves and Adricor, a Noble woman of well renown, he would of stood to inherit much. However, on the night of his first full moon, as a baby he disappeared from his cot. His parents, after much frantic searching, found the babe crying in a small clearing of trees, a large feline creature pacing defensively around him, the bloodied corpse of a fox resting at its feet. As the parents approached, the beast transformed into a small owl and flew around the clearing before perching on a low branch of a tree nearby. From this moment on Garion's fate had been decided. Only those with magical blood could be capable of calling out to such a being as this. As Garion grew older, the transforming creature remained by his side. Wizards from all the continents visited the glade to see the child who had bound a familiar to his will as a babe. At age seven, Garion left his home glade and travelled the world studying to become a recognised guilded wizard. After many years he was granted the title of Wizard and was sent forth to advise, learn and ponder on behalf of the guild. After a while, Garion was assigned to a small nation within the vast continent mainly populated by man-folk known as The Patchwork kingdoms.
