I Am A Prodigy Chapter 678

"Stop, or I shan't be blamed for being ruthless!" Little White was full of character. He epitomized the king of beasts' mannerisms even at a young age.
"Squeak!"
The white fox became angry too. 'How dare a teensy little puss like you stop me?'
Its small body leapt suddenly and showed no sign of weak character as it began brandishing its small paw.
Little White immediately crumbled despite acting so aggressive earlier. Shocked to the core, it went so far as to fall to the ground in fright and rolled around for quite some time...
Ye Lingchen was speechless. 'Have you forgotten that you're a tiger? This is too embarrassing for a tiger.' That moment was probably the best moment of that white fox's life.
Judging from the look of things, Ye Lingchen had to rely on himself.
Seeing as the white fox was about to rush into the forest, Ye Lingchen immediately jumped up and shouted, "Don't even think about leaving, you naughty fox!"
The white fox glanced back slightly and had the living daylights scared right out of him. Its white fur stood on end as it continued to run wildly with its tiny little legs.
Ye Lingchen cocked his brow, raised his right hand, and punched the air before him.
Boom!
An explosion happened right in front of the white fox and dust flew everywhere.
"Squeak!"
The white fox trembled due to the shock. It dropped the ginseng on the ground and did not pick it up anymore, fleeing straight to the forest and disappearing into the bushes.
Ye Lingchen picked up the ginseng from the ground and looked at the direction where the white fox disappeared. His eyes had a look of surprise.
That little fox...was special!
Little Green and Little Gray had been trained by Ye Lingchen and could be considered warrior wolves. They were extremely skilled in many aspects, yet they could not capture a white fox even with the help of so many other wolves?
In addition, that white fox was very intelligent and differed greatly from ordinary animals, which was nothing short of mysterious.

Ye Lingchen took a look at the ginseng in his hands. The entire incident was a rather curious one. Why would a white fox steal ginseng? He had never heard of foxes eating that stuff.
Could it be a mutation?
The appearance of Hell's Gate brought about many unexplainable happenings in the world. Those occurrences might remain rather inconspicuous under normal circumstances, but their oddness became evident after one started to notice them.
"Little Green, Little Gray. I'm sure you've both already recognized the smell. Lead the pack and track down the white fox. Make sure to catch it and bring it back alive. DON'T kill it," Ye Lingchen ordered.
"Understood!"
Little Green and Little Gray led the wolves into the forest at once and wanted to redeem themselves.
The rest of the people soon caught up.
"Ah, did someone steal some herbs just now?" Dong Miaomiao's face turned pale and she began examining the herb farm.
"Mm, a very interesting little guy." Ye Lingchen smiled and handed the ginseng to Dong Miaomiao.
Dong Miaomiao took the ginseng and carefully replanted it in the ground. She looked somewhat worried. "What was it exactly that tried to steal our herbs, Chairman Ye? Do we need to fence up the farm?"
Aside from being rare, some of those herbs were very precious too. It would certainly be a huge loss if they were destroyed.
"It's okay. This is good enough." Ye Lingchen shook his head. It was enough that Little Green and Little Gray were guarding the farm.
Little Green and Little Gray led a team of wolves, for goodness sake! If that was not enough to protect the herb farm, then it would be futile to fence up the farm.
At that point, there was a fracas inside in the forest, with the commotion instantly scaring off the birds. Low growls and roars were heard from time to time, while there was endless howling from the wolves. The group of wolves appeared to have commenced their operation by going their separate ways.
"Alright, back to filming. Everyone, head back right now," Ye Lingchen said bluntly.

Nevertheless, the earlier scene stunned many warriors. Damn, Chief Ye even managed to train a pack of wolves! It was just mind-blowing.
When everyone began to leave, Ye Lingchen felt his trousers being tugged at. He saw Little White slowly climbing up his trousers, whimpering and looking at Ye Lingchen pitifully.
"So scary. That fox is so fierce! Baby is scared."
Ye Lingchen lifted Little White up, stretched out his fingers, then flicked Little White's head with a thud. Little White looked innocently at Ye Lingchen and felt even more aggrieved.
"Remember! You're a tiger. You can't be a wimp." Ye Lingchen rubbed the tiger's head. "Looks like your training has to be a little stricter in the future. Your daily courses will be doubled, starting right now."
At the end of that sentence, Ye Lingchen carried Little White and walked toward the forest.
Among his limited advanced skills was Animal Taming, and it should not go to waste. The advanced Animal Taming in itself gave Ye Lingchen a certain degree of might, causing the animals to revere him more and making it easier for the animals to submit to him.
If utilized well, he could train an army of beasts with impressive combat strength. Although Ye Lingchen did not have the energy to train an army as of then, it was good enough that he could train some animal elites.
"Sink your body to the ground and press your paws hard against the ground. The only way to have better explosive power is by holding firmly!"
Little White was confronting a pheasant in the forest while Ye Lingchen taught from the side. "Your momentum must be sufficient. You must show unrelenting might!"
However, the next moment, the pheasant launched forward and flapped its wings as it came for Little White. It clucked to show dominance and began pecking away at Little White.
Little White was utterly defeated after suffering a slew of attacks, screaming again and again, "Help!"
"Fight back! Where are your claws? Where are your teeth?" Ye Lingchen did not intervene, but continued giving out instructions on the sidelines from time to time.
He felt exhausted, as if he had really turned into Little White's parents when he taught the little tiger how to hunt and fight.
"Don't just strike randomly. Pay attention to the timing. Execute a one-hit kill. You ought to know the weaknesses of other animals. Running away is useless!" Ye Lingchen coached. "You're destined to be the king of beasts with your natural speed and strength. Other animals can't compare to you at all, so make the most of what you have."
After teaching it some skills, Ye Lingchen ignored Little White's endless battle with the pheasant. He minded his own business, entered a posture for Eight Extremities Brute Training, and began practicing on the spot.
If one was close enough to him and listened carefully, the sound of his bones grinding around inside his body could be heard. It was both horrifying and unpleasant-sounding to the ear. The vitality of heaven and earth increased in Ye Lingchen's body, but as he cultivated, the inner force within his bones was compressed even more. At the same time, their quality improved constantly too.
Whether it was the Arhat Fist Force or the Eight Extremities Brute Training, the process of transforming acquired strength into innate strength was very time-consuming. The first step was to compress all the inner strength within him to the extreme, turning it into a small little dot of inner force. Then, he would absorb his strength again and compress it, repeating the cycle until the innate inner force was filled to the brim. However, Ye Lingchen had currently only compressed his innate inner force by 20%, which was still miles away from actually making any progress. That alone was a testament to its sheer difficulty.
However, Ye LIngchen surmised that the results would be greatly improved if he relied on herbs or entered that so-called Martial Arts Pavilion to cultivate...

Since that time his might has slowly unravelled, and his once steadfast empire has begun to crack, splinter and devour itself. In the isolated Southern Realms, where even magic has abandoned them, none of that matters. For years it has been filled with warring kingdoms, where as many kings die to the blade as to old age, and constant battles tear apart the land. When one such kingdom invades its old enemy, the King and his heir, Prince Caden, are killed. Unable to accept the loss of his family Prince Arian is broken, and when the Philosopher King stretches out his hand in aid, Arian takes it without a second thought. When Caden wakes from death, he's different. His eyes and soul have changed, and he finds a world filled with friends who no longer trust he's even human. Suddenly thrust onto the throne and indebted to the Philosopher King, Caden has no choice but to keep going - he must finish what his father started, and try to survive the machinations of the figure who now owns his fealty. Meanwhile something beyond death stirs for him, desiring nothing more than to drag him back into its embrace. Author's Note: This story used to be known as "A King of his Own", but after some consideration I have decided to rebrand it. The first reason is that I was growing increasingly dissatisfied with the title. The second is that I have come increasingly to view this story as a 'saga' containing multiple 'books' rather than one long, continuous publication, and as I did so I realized that as I was quickly getting to a point in the story where I wanted the first 'book' to end. This doesn't mean I'm going back on the things I said below - they're just going to continue in the next book of the Saga of Fallen Kings. :) Also, be aware that I do plan to edit this at some point. Though I take care to squash out any obvious errors when I proof-read, and do simple edits in that process, at some point I'm almost certainly going to do large edits that might significantly change parts of the story. Old author's notes: This started as a completely random writing session. There was no purpose or direction, but as I kept typing an entire world began to form in my mind that I knew I had to write about. My plan is to turn this story into a veritable medieval fantasy epic that spans an entire world, follows multiple character and storylines, and takes place over many years. The story has quite a grounded, almost 'realistic' start, but many more fantastical elements will be introduced, expanded upon and become central to the narrative. I have ideas for this story that make me genuinely excited and I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy writing it, and join me on what will hopefully become a truly massive fantasy epic. If you do enjoy this story please consider following, rating and leaving a review. I'm also happy to answer any questions or comments you have.
