Child Of Destiny Chapter 243

Bang!
A someone was sent on the walls of the throne room ones again, and created some cracks on that wall when that figure was impacted on it once again. There were even some visible cracks on that wall when that figure was impacted to it. Then a cloud of dust was created when the figure fell on the on the ground.
There were a pair of players standing on the opposite side of that cloud of dust. They were holding their weapons while looking at opposite side with calm eyes.
A moment later, the cloud of dust started to settle down and the figure was revealed at the sights of the pair once again. He was struggling at standing up while being supported by his swords.
"Sigh~, this friend of yours seemed to be quite stubborn, War God. We already beaten him up for quite a number of times yet he is still standing up no matter how hard it was for him," said Zero in a helpless manner.
At first, he was enjoying his battle with Shin. It was during his exchange with the latter, he discovered that this guy was able to grow in the middle of battle; a Battle Genius to be exact. But as more time passed, he also discovered that even though Shin was able to grow, the growth rate was starting to slow down as more time went by. His growth was being restricted by fighting unconsciously.
With that, Zero felt that fighting the current Shin was something so boring. He what he wanted was someone that could help him sharpen his sword, not someone that was just strong because of some uncertainties.
Simba shook his head a little the moment he heard that and said. "Well, that was quite unexpected for me too. If it is in the real world then all we need to do was to knock him unconscious and he will be back to normal when he woke up. But I forgot that knocking someone in the game is quite impossible."
In a distance few meters away from those three, Lawless and the other were currently looking at the sight with astounded faces.
They were done at dealing with the Archbishop for quite some time already. And at the moment they look at other side, they couldn't help but took a double take at what was currently happening; they couldn't believe what they were seeing.
What they saw was Shin battling Simba and Zero in a melee battle.
At first, they thought that they were just doing some training, especially since Simba would order Stephanie to heal Shin from time to time. But still, isn't this kind of training was too brutal for a pair of Peak-Godlike Players to ganged up to battle a player on Shin's level.
And what was shocking on that was Shin being able to hold his ground against those two monsters. Even if Shin was being in disadvantage and losing some HP from time to time, it was still noticeable that he was improving himself as more time passed.

Even if they were quite confused at what was happening, and couldn't understand how things had end up like this, this sight in from of them was still a pill that was too hard to swallow. Even if it was just a melee exchange, it was still something that was very hard to believe.
"Miss Stephanie, please give him another heal," said Simba as he watched Shin who was struggling to stand up.
'Again?' thought Stephanie to herself after hearing that. But even if she had some doubts, she still complied at his words and casted a few heals at Shin to restore his health back to full.
Zero released a helpless sigh when he saw that Shin was about to rush at them for another time. Then he looked at Simba and. "You said we just need to knocked him unconscious, right? Then let's just kill him."
Simba was taken aback at his words, but before he managed to voice out some of his thoughts, Zero already turned his head at the group before asking. "Is the Gentle Goddess still not responding at your resurrection skill?"
"I'm not sure, she might be doing something as the system says that she is in idle mode," said Stephanie almost immediately.
And when they are talking, a golden light was formed few meters away from them. A moment later, Arielle was immediately revealed when that golden light settled down.
"Talking about the angel," muttered Ravier when he saw her walked out of that light.
"Ugh~!" and that was when someone pinched his waist from the side. And when he turned his head, he saw Ember looking at him fiercely without releasing her pinch at him.
Seeing that, Ravier gave her his sweetest smile before saying. "Good thing that I have an angel of my own."
Then the others around them started chuckling after hearing that.
After that, Cloe looked at them and smiled while saying. "Sorry about that, I got an important call earlier so I can't accept the resurrection request. So, what's the problem?"
The others didn't reply at her and just turned their heads the direction at Shin.
Seeing them acting like that, Cloe also turned her head the direction that they were looking and saw Shin who was not on his usual self. She was surprise at first, she quickly regained herself almost instantly.
She sighed helplessly before blinking towards Simba's side before asking. "He is at it again? For how long is it already?"
Simba released a helpless sigh of his own before saying. "Since the moment that you were killed by that NPC. I guess he is still not good enough to handle those kinds of shock…"
He still wanted to say something but he immediately stopped what he was saying when he saw that Cloe have a pair of shining eyes while looking at Shin. He shook his head and smiled bitterly while saying, "This girl is also can't be save."
And that was also when Shin made his move.

And when Zero saw that, he said to Cloe without removing his sight at Shin. "Can you bless him with that auto-resurrection skill? Let's reset his state of mind."
After that he quickly raised his sword before charging at Shin in a straight line while thrusting forward.
At the same time, Cloe finally snapped out of her fantasies and quickly casted spell that was directed to Shin.
A moment after that, a golden light was descended from the ceiling before falling at Shin's body.
And at that very moment, one of Zero's sword sliced through the air before coming after Shin. Fortunately, the latter was able to respond at that attack before that sword land on his body. And Shin seemed to already learned his lesson and dodged this time instead of blocking it.
Shing!
That attacking sword passed through the air above Shin while leaving an ear-piercing sound. And after letting that sword brushed past his head, he quickly planned to throw an upward sword strike as a counterattack.
Unfortunately, the other sword of his opponent was already swinging down at him. What's more, the speed of this incoming strike was much faster than the previous one that was previously threw by Zero.
Given that, it was already too late for him to dodge, so all he could do was to block that incoming sword.
Clang!
He managed to successfully block that sword with both of his swords. But even if that was the case, he was immediately sent flying by that attack with putting much resistance.
Swoosh!
Whoosh!
But unlike before, Zero quickly chased after Shin without having any other thoughts. And he quickly arrived at the latter's front within an instant.
After that, Zero swung his sword at Shin and made that latter to crossed his swords in front of him for another time. But just like before, he was sent flying once again. And this time, he was thrown high up in the air.
With that, Zero positioned himself at the ground below Shin while taking a sword position with both of his swords. Then, a moment after that, the Sword God suddenly jump in the air and shot towards that falling body of Shin.
And when the two of them were about to collide with each other, Zero quickly draw out his swords before throwing a cross slash at Shin.
Shing!
Shin wanted to use a movement skill to escape from the incoming skill since he knew that it was already too late for him to throw a good counter. What's more, it was quite obvious that he would lose even if he threw a skill at the same time.
But unfortunately, he was already lockdowned by Simba. Given that, it was impossible for him to use any kind of attack.
What happened next was something that even an idi*t could tell.
*****
On a secluded forest near the Holy City, a team of 12 players were currently grouped together. They were currently checking out their weapons and armors, look for the ones that were needed to be repaired.
After a few moments, the two swordsmen with dual swords hanging on each side of their waits, were now looking at Lawless and the others to bid their farewell.
First, Zero looked at Simba before saying. "I will be going for now since I need to finish up a couple of more quest. I want to have an exchange of blows with you, but time is not on our side, it seems."
Then he paused for a moment to take a quick look at Shin before continuing. "And you don't have to worry about that thing that you have asked me. I can still help your friend to familiarize himself with his Sword Path. But first, he needs to control his mind a little more. Being a real swordsman needs to walk in a straight path. And to achieve that he needs to possess a firm will and a tough mind."
Simba knitted his eyebrows after hearing that and asked. "Why not tell that to him personally?"
Zero shook his head and said. "Sometimes, it is better for someone to discover their own path so that they could remember it forever. As long as he manages to get a glimpse of it, I can help him sharpen his sword path."
After that, he started walking away. And when he was about the brush past Shin, he paused for a moment before saying at the latter after some hesitation. "Remember, using something and relying on it are two different things. You are too reliant to the Mana; you should forget everything that you learned from it before relearning it one by one."
Shin was gotten confused at Zero's words and waited for the latter to continue. But Zero didn't want to disclose anymore information and resumed at walking away from the group.
Shin refused to give in and stared at Zero's back firmly while waiting for more lecture. But Zero seemed to ignore him despite feeling that gaze. Instead, the Sword God just waved his right hand while saying and without looking back. "Heh! I will be waiting at the time that you can properly wield that power and see if you are worthy enough to carry the burdens behind them."
Hearing that, Shin couldn't help but look at his palms. He already heard what happened earlier since Simba already explained it to him. He even got to know that he was beaten up badly. And even if he knew that Simba and Zero ganged up at him to prevent him from going on rampage, the two didn't even take him seriously at that time.
Thinking about all of this, Shin felt a raging wave of feelings inside him and clenched his hands. He firmly gripped them into fists while muttering to himself. "Soon, I will catch up to all of you.

Beyond the Horizon's Eye
It is less than two weeks after the event known as the Flux Causality, and two days after the Grand Council has put forth the edict demanding the immediate retrieval and deletion of all Stringhoppers. Finding such Travelers, however, is proving more difficult than expected. A young boy and his sister find themselves violently taken from their world to another, and soon thereafter are forcibly separated. Now sold into slavery, the young man must find not only a reason to survive but a purpose to carry him home. The journey has just begun, and the hardest step is always the first one. ~ This is my attempt at both the Xianxia/Wuxia and Portal/Isekai genre of fiction that I love, and the means to provide a story set in such guidelines, while distancing myself from some of the more common tropes. I do hope you enjoy the story I shall endeavor to tell. ~ Average post between 1000 - 3000 words. This is a work in progress, and will be edited and adjusted over time. If you’re interested in something a bit more GameLIT, you might want to check out my second story on Royal Road, “The Dawnfire Archives”. My newest story is a combination of both genres, but with a female main character at the helm. Feel free to check out "The Card Thief of Culnivar"!

Birth of an AntiHero
AntiHero's FIRST REWRITE IN THE WORKS - thanks!! :] EDIT 2/28/22 - sorry, health problems right now, but I will post after rewriting the first 80-90,000 words or so and start fresh from there! Expect the change to be uploaded before summer! So long as I can keep using my hands, that is~! ^_^ X] This story will indeed get fleshed out as my vision improves for the better. But I feel the need to emphasize that a lot of parts are written in improvised comic book format as my primary writing style, and this first book is actually the entry point and starting novel for an entire very vast series I am in the works of developing. Many side characters here will eventually be main characters with there own stories; long or short. But this one particularly will be focused and centralized around Noel. Because of this, I do plan to leave the introduction for side characters as still having a special flow for readers to witness a tad of their background, so keep that in mind after my 'obviously many' rewrites from now and going into the future! Sorry for the troubles! I will improve on my style and implementation of the story!(Although I DO plan to keep parts as 'play style' or rather, comic book style, since I find it easier for certain dialogue instances as well as the fact that the novel is inspired by that 'feeling' you get while reading comic books. But my style is still evolving, you were warned!) Thank you! - Noel Tyler Malierano. He's the youngest 'son' to receive approval from 'The Malierano Family': A Criminal Organization of hitmen and hitwomen that specialize in killing, even maintaining success within a vastly superpowered society. Noel finally manages to complete his training as the newest 'Elite' killer his family created...but, there's just one problem - He doesn't want to kill! Come along and delve into a society of conflicting morals through the eyes of a boy, desperately searching for a new path to follow. Can he even manage to free himself from his father's engrained teachings and ideals? Conversely, will killing prove a lot more difficult to ignore? --- --> Thank you very much for reading! It would be helpful for me if you all consider leaving me a comment or an inbox suggestion, a review or even a full rating wherever AND whenever you believe I need to improve on anything or if something I wrote irked you! I appreciate EVERYONE that comes to read my story, however I DO want to improve my work as a writer. I hope all of you who don't like my work will let me know somehow, so I can edit and IMPROVE my story as a whole! Thank you everyone for your time! --- JUST TO NOTE!! When a character has a cultural name like, say, a Japanese or Russian name, that is because that character IS Japanese or Russian! They don't have to be FULL of one ethnicity either - sometimes they will be mixed. This story mainly takes place on an artificial continent where all countries have sent over their respective talents, meaning characters of ALL cultures and ethnic backgrounds will show hints of that in their names. Please don't assume I'm just randomly naming characters names that don't match them. And feel free to talk to me about whatever in my story troubles you - no matter how small! I love to improve. ^-^ X] --- Just to note: Characters will slowly grow as time passes. Slow pace. THANKS for reading! Enjoy! :] --- Decided to post 2 chapters every Tuesday and Friday instead of taking a small break, but I MAY upload once in a while on different days, such as Sundays, in addition to those two. :]
