Child Of Destiny Chapter 256

"Attack! We can still get the loots if we kill them!"
Boom~!
The players had gone back being mad once again as they became blinded by greed. They didn't care even if they were going against a group of monsters. Or to be more precise, they chose to ignore the fact that Shin and the other two were strong. All that was running in their minds was to steal the items from Shin's group.
Simba looked at the incoming groups of players that suddenly came back at being crazy and couldn't help but shake his head and smile bitterly, especially when he saw the expression on their faces. "What a bunch of fools."
He was about to make his move to teach these guys a good lesson that they would remember. But before he could even make his move, a figure walked past him and continued at moving forward.
"Eh!?" Simba got a little off-guard a little as he looked at the back of that figure. Then he smiled bitterly before saying. "Looks like you are quite annoyed. What's up this time?"
Shin in his werewolf form replied at him without looking back. "These guys remind me of some unpleasant memories. So, I plan to share it with them a little."
After that, he started walking towards the incoming groups of players as he really planned to give them a really good lesson.
And when the players on the opposing side saw Shin walking towards them, they became even more crazy and started throwing their attacks.
"That's him! All of the loots is with him. Kill that guy and all the loots will be ours!"
"Is this guy an idiot? Did he think he beat us alone? Beat it! Just Kill him!"
Shin stared at the incoming spells before muttering to himself. "Numbers, Huh? Coincidentally, I also have some of them."
After that, he quickly activated the 'Phantom Apparition' skill to summon the Phantom Clone. But unlike what he had expected, the one that appeared beside him was a werewolf that was almost identical to him.
But even if he was somewhat confused, he didn't have enough time to think about that since the spells and long-range attacks of the opposing side were already upon him. So, without further ado, he controlled his main body and his clone at the same time as what he usually did.

The two of them disappeared from their current spots at the same time, dodging all of the spells and skills that were raining on those locations.
A moment later, Shin and the Phantom Clone appeared a few meters away from their previous locations while also being in opposite directions.
And when they reappeared at the same time, the long-range players with sharp eyes and fast reactions immediately spotted them out almost instantly.
Those guys quickly aimed their weapons as they planned to throw another series of attacks. But before they could even do anything, another shocking thing happened right in front of their eyes. Both Shin and the Phantom Clone suddenly split into multiple figures before rushing forward planning to greet the incoming groups of players.
'Phantom Swordsman Skill: Phantom Dance'
Swoosh! Swoosh!
Suddenly, in just a blink of an eye, there were 20 werewolves right in front of the groups. The range and magical players tried to bombard all of the incoming werewolves with spells and skills. Unfortunately, not a single skill managed to land on their targets.
All of the magic spells and other skills didn't even manage to graze the bodies of their targets. Or to be more precise, all of those attacks just passed through the bodies of the werewolves.
But when the leaders of the groups saw that, their eyes suddenly turned bright before saying to their members. "Don't worry, those are just illusions! Just continue bombarding them with your skills and spells, and sooner or later the real body will show itself."
And with that, all of the players that had range skills in their arsenal started throwing all what they got with the hopes of revealing the real body of their targets.
Or so they thought.
Shin and the Phantom Clone were kept on changing their locations by continuously swapping their places with their phantoms. And due to that, not a single skill or spell managed to land at either the two of them.
That process continuously happened all the way until the both of them arrived at the ranks of the opposing side. And when things reached this point, the players of opposing groups finally realized that these phantoms were not just ordinary clones.
They thought that the werewolves were just a bunch of illusions since all of their attacks were just passing through its bodies. So, they were just going to ignore the werewolf in front of them whenever it happened.

But they also realized that they were truly mistaken whenever one of those werewolves attacked each one of them.
Each one of those attacks didn't only land on the bodies of the players, but they also killed a player after player whenever those attacks found their targets!
And that was also when the real nightmare of those opposing players began.
Dealing with the werewolves that they couldn't hit was already annoying, what's more a werewolf that they couldn't attack yet could attack them.
And their sufferings didn't just end in there, because Simba and Cloe were not easy pickings either.
There was no need to question Simba since he was not given the title of War God for no reason. So, killing these guys was just a simple job for him.
Cloe, on the other hand, was naturally not simple either. She might only have a class that focused on supporting, but that didn't mean she couldn't fight a battle. And she didn't actually need to fight personally since Shin and Simba were more than enough to handle the opposing groups. All she needed to do was to send some heals at the two from time to time together with some buffs.
And if ever some guys tried to attack her, Blackie and the golden bear were already enough to handle them.
The entire battle lasted for a few more minutes, before the groups of players finally realized that it was impossible for them to defeat these three.
So, instead of having more desperate struggle, the leaders of the surviving groups decided to give up at the idea of stealing the loots from Shin and ordered a full retreat.
But even if they managed to survive from that incident, the news of that battle already spread in the entire populace of the Holy City. And that news pretty much shocked most of the powerful guilds residing in the City.
The battle prowess that the trio had shown was not something a normal group could have. So, the higher-ups of these guilds took note of these. They even sent some scouts that were going to monitor them dedicatedly.
...
Meanwhile, Shin and the other two were quite having a time on their side.
"D*mn! These guys from the powerful guilds sure have some fat pockets. Look at the items that we have got. They not only have the quantity, but they also have the quality. I wonder if they are going to send more players to come after us," said Shin as he checked out the items that they had gotten from the group of players from earlier.
Simba shook his head as he saw that sight and said. "Don't tell me you got addicted to killing some players?"
Shin looked at him and said. "They are the ones that provoked us first. So, why are you making it sound like I am the bad guy?"
Simba shrugged his shoulders and said. "Because right now, you do look like one."
The corner of Shin's mouth suddenly twitched after hearing that. Then he pursed his lips and said. "But I really wonder if they are going to send some groups to come after us."
"This is just the first boss," said Simba in a nonchalant manner.
"Yes, I know about that. But what is its connection with-…" Shin was in the middle of talking when a sudden thought entered his mind. Then he turned his head at Simba who was also looking back at him.
And when Shin realized what was behind Simba's words, his lips suddenly curved into a grin as if an evil plan was formed in his head.
At the same time, Simba was also grinning from ear to ear as he was aware that Shin could understand what he wanted to say.
Cloe, on the other hand, shook her head when she saw the two acting like a pair of evil villains. And with just a single look at them, she could already tell they were up for no good.
Then she massaged her temples and muttered to herself. "Looks like these two are going to provoke some trouble once again. I feel like I am going to have yet another headache for the upcoming days."
All she could do for now was to sigh helplessly and hope that they would not be going to make more troubles than they could currently handle.

A Titan's Crusade
Erik Thayne spent most of his life being brutally ridiculed and tormented for his weight and physical appearance, among other things. A social pariah and diagnosed with an eating disorder no one has an explanation or treatment for, Erik spent years trying to overcome his issues with his personal image and escape the ridicule and vicious torment of his peers. After years of dedicated effort, and a fresh start in a town away from his childhood and adolescent tormentors, he had finally begun to truly realize what he'd been striving for all along. Only, fate apparently has other plans because in the blink of an eye, Erik found himself snatched from Earth and taken to another universe, another world, where he is offered the chance to be more than he'd ever imagined. Now, he has to fight to restore the Balance between Chaos and Order on a world of swords and magic, in a universe governed by the System's laws, which resemble those of RPGs from Earth. Erik learned to embrace the things about himself that others taught him to hate, using them to reforge his physical identity into something more removed from his old self-loathing. But can he learn to embrace the darkest parts of his mind just as he did the reviled aspects of his body and become who he needs to be to succeed in the task set before him? It might just prove easier to stalk in the dark as a monster than to walk in the light as a man... *This is my first time publishing anything I've written to a public audience. Due to formatting issues, I forwent traditional stat-screens for something a little less problematic, delineating stat screens by separating them from regular text with horizontal lines in a lighter-grey coloration. Let me know if you like them or not. Criticism is entirely welcome, but please don't hate on my work after only reading 1 chapter. This is a writing project I intend to complete but I have committment problems so we'll see how long this goes on. Also, fair warning, as the description implies, the main protagonist is intended to be someone who has been treated cruelly, developed antisocial tendencies, and ultimately has to question his own humanity--or lack thereof. This story is not intended to be brutally dark but I will definitely be trying to follow a darker theme. It is intended to be violent and some scenes later in the story might be...alarming. There will likely also be some light, non-graphic (think more implied with crude jokes and conversation than actual details, there will be no full-blown sex scenes)relationship scenes planned later and if you're opposed to either a bisexual or gay main character, stay away. I haven't yet decided which way he's going to swing but the odds on him being straight are relatively miniscule, and I've always wanted to write a story about a gay man who basically looks like a lumberjack because who doesn't like giving conventional stereo-types the middle finger? This will NOT be a harem story, and I have no intention to focus on romance over action--it's a consequence of character development where I'm concerned, not the be-all-end-all of the story. The cover-art does not, in any way, belong to me. It was an image titled the Druid King (by duskanmarkovic according to the file name) which I found on Google Images. Until I can get something commissioned, this is the best stand-in image I could find.
