Child Of Destiny Chapter 301

Shin immediately went to Battle Arena the moment he ended the call. And much to his surprise, he saw that the Battle Arena was still bursting with a lot of players. It was despite the Town starting to lose its popularity due to the increasing levels of the players.
"Looks like I need to hasten the promotion a little. I already have most of the things that I need for the promotion. The ones that are missing are the blueprints. Should I contact the 'Eternal Hope' and 'Secret Society' after I am done with this training?" muttered Shin to himself as he walked towards the Battle Arena.
While he was walking along the long line of players, he suddenly realized that these players wanted to train because they were inspired by the battles at the Shadow Ranking Cup.
"Looks like I underestimated the in-game tournaments a little too much. I do not expect that it has a huge effect on the other players of the game," Shin shook his head when he learned that the tournament had a huge impact on the players of the game.
And when he arrived at the lobby, he immediately spotted Lawless and the others. How could he ignore such a noticeable group of players? The aura that they were giving stood out among the other groups present in the lobby.
Naturally, the group were able to notice Shin the moment he started walking towards them. And the moment they saw the incoming swordsman, the group couldn't help but become a little shocked at his current strength; they could even feel the dangerous aura coming from the latter even from a distance.
"Tsk! To think this guy can have a lot of progress in just a short amount of time," said Lawless as he observed Shin a little more.
Hearing that, Ravier couldn't help but nod his head and said. "This guy is really a monster. To think that he was about to catch up with the leading players of the game. Brother Lawless really has a good eye for talent."
Amber beside him suddenly stared at him with a weird look on her face before saying. "What is that connection between the two? And with that tone, it was as if you are saying Lawless is that one responsible for his growth, which is obviously not the case."
In meantime, Faker ignored the words of the three and continued to observe Shin with a pair of meaningful eyes. A moment later, he suddenly muttered to himself. "He is really the same as those guys. I wonder how far he can go with that kind of talent."

Lawless, who was standing right beside him, happened to hear what he said and suddenly added. "I am now starting to become interested about his real strength in the real world."
Then turned his head at Faker before asking. "Do you think he also discovered the benefits of this game?"
Faker suddenly shook his head and smiled bitterly the moment he heard that before saying. "I still doubt about that. From the way he fights, you can still see that there is a lot of room for improvements."
"Of course, it is not in a bad way. But with that information you can tell that he is still either in the process of finding his own in-game battle style or in a stage where he is trying to recreate his style in battle from the real world. Either way, those two prove that he is still unaware about those so-called benefits."
Lawless pursed his lips when he heard this before saying. "Then that is even more scary if that is really that case. It only proves that this guy is really a monster."
Hearing this, Faker suddenly smirked at him and said. "Heh! You are talking as if there are a lot of players that managed to reach that state. Tell me, how many players achieve that perfect state?"
Lawless suddenly turned stiff and became silent when he heard that question. And the moment Faker saw his reaction, he immediately added. "Quite a little, right? In fact, we only saw 3 players that managed to reach that state; even the Godlike Players Expert List doesn't have a player in that state."
When their conversation reached this point, Shin finally reached that group and quickly said. "What are you guys talking about? It sounds interesting."
But instead of replying to him, Lawless just clicked his tongue and said. "Tsk! What took you so long to get in here? Isn't the Mayor's Residence he just nearby."
The corner of Shin's mouth suddenly twitched when he heard that and said. "You are so impatient for someone who is asking for a free ride."
"And who is the one asking for a favor and looking for a sparring partner," rebutter Lawless almost immediately.
Cough! Cough!
Shin suddenly coughed hardly the moment he heard that as he found himself in a tight spot to reply. 'D*mn! This guy is good at rebuttals, huh?'
All he could do was to release a helpless sigh, since he couldn't find the good words to refute Lawless' words. Then he walked forward to lead the group for the special VIP room that he assigned for himself. "Follow me. For now, I am going to lead in my personal training room. As for your free pass and exemption fee, I'll deal with it later."

With this kind of group lineup, it was natural for them to attract a lot of attention from the others as they walked along the hallway of the Battle Arena.
Even if they managed to hide their identities with their high-ranking concealing cloaks, the combined aura that was coming from each member of the group, was really pressuring from the others.
Especially for the experts that had some keen senses. And from what they could perceive, these guys were the last one that you would want to provoke inside the game.
Fortunately, there were very few players on the way as they went deeper into the Battle Arena. But when the group arrived at the very end of the corridor, the group suddenly became confused because Shin led them in the dead end.
Even if they were quite confused about their current situation, they still remained silent and waited for Shin.
A moment later, Shin placed his hand on the wall in front of them before pushing his hand a little forward.
Click!
With a clicking sound, a brick on the wall was suddenly pushed backwards and triggered some mechanical actions behind it. Then, the wall moved backwards a little revealing a hidden door on the side.
That door was quite special since it was glowing with magic as if it was a special void gate that leads to another world.
But the moment Shin saw that glowing door, he couldn't help but frown his eyebrows with confusion. 'How come that is glowing? That means someone is inside? Who could it be?'
But amidst this confusion, Shin immediately recovered himself and threw those thoughts at the back of his head. 'Anyway, it is not important for now. I will know about it later.'
After that, he turned his head at Lawless and the others before saying. "You guys can enter first. I'll join you later. I need to arrange some things in the lobby first. It is about your passes."
Hearing that, Lawless just shrugged his shoulder before walking straight at the glowing door, without having any second thoughts. And when Shin saw the straightforward actions of Lawless, he couldn't help but shook his head and wore a bitter smile.
At the same time, Faker followed Lawless almost immediately. But he didn't forget to thank Shin of course. "Thanks! I'll make sure you give you a good sparring match later."
Hearing his voice, Shin suddenly felt a sudden chill that ran through his back. 'Is that thanks or a threat?'
Ravier started chuckling and before following the previous two while also saying. "Good luck for that. And thanks anyway, I owe you a drink later."
Shin's face suddenly turned weird when he heard that and suddenly replied. "I am not drinking. I am still a minor."
"I don't owe you anything then," said Ravier almost instantly before entering the door.
Meanwhile, Amber just nodded at Shin while also flashing a smile at the same time. After that, she quietly followed after the three.
Shin sighed helplessly after experiencing all of that. "At least, seeing a sweet smile in the end is somewhat of refreshing after hearing the words from those troublesome guys."
After that, he ran towards the lobby to arrange the things that Lawless asked. He could actually do this earlier, but rejected the idea since he wanted to hide the fact that he was the owner of this town. And since there were a lot of players in the lobby earlier, it was impossible for Shin to do it. That was why he needed to do it secretly.
Then he immediately ran back to the special room with an excited face since he was expecting a lot of things that he could learn from the group.
But the moment he entered the special training room, what greeted him was Lawless' group standing in front of him and blocking his path. He took a quick look at them and discovered that they were staring blankly at the sight a few distance away.
BOOM!!!
Then a deafening explosion suddenly sounded from the place that they were looking at. And when Shin turned his head and looked in that direction, he couldn't help but wear a dumbfounded expression and unconsciously said. "What the heck is going on?"

YAOS 1 - Limitless Adventures - Yet Another OP Story Book 1
December 23rd 2018: Book 1 is now up at Smashwords and at Amazon. December 30th 2018: V1.1.2 of YAOS Book 1 is out, some content additions, fixed typos. Amazon's enhanced typesetting now displays tables properly. YAOS is shown through the eyes of some genius athlete getting OP inside a VR, ah wait, Full Immersion game, ?F.I.O?. Not a Hero, not a Nerd, just a driven individual paying for mistakes made, biding time until he can return to the Real World. He isn't defined like you'd normally do it, you can pick his looks and name all on your own, just like you do in video games. Believe it or not, keeping his looks undefined is harder than you think. His backstory isn't expounded in detail, but it drives his choices. Book 1 isn't about depressing sob stories but about fun and rushing forward, pursuing new horizons. Oh, and you'll end on a cliffhanger! Well, most serials do, so you will probably expect that without being told explicitly. But it isn't that bad, there's a lot of reveals and more to come once this book, that is the first in a planned three-part series, is finally ready for release on amazon et al. The published version will have: 1.) Godawful speaker tags, I hate them, they make you stop thinking and speed up editing so much. In hindsight they should have been in to begin with. But I stand by my goals proclaimed earlier. You guys should think while reading, that is the whole point of the exercise. Apply the knowledge and ideas, improve yourself, get creative! 2.) Pretty colored tables, the damned blue boxes, a lot of work, 69 in one book. Finally fixed amazon's centering issue. Can't say I liked the hours needed to debug that. 3.) The promised Mitara chapters. 4.) A cover! 5.) And lastly, updated polished versions of several chapters. MC shares more of his past, some terrible chapters (esp. 32) finally work. Some new scenes, minor rewrites in parts. Text flow and other issues. The current challenge is to maintain essential ambiguity while satisfying people wanting to know more without thinking three steps ahead. Balancing one with the other is tough. The smut which was in remains, but the story told is not to be superseded by it. A 15+ rating for the first book is also important, not to mention, YAOS wasn't meant to contain any smut to begin with. If the Author can turn to writing full time his output should increase, so please support YAOS #1 once it does finally release. ~Thank You~ No maps so far, that should be in, but is really hard to get done right. Again, tips are appreciated. Update September 2017: Stubbed chapters, sorry guys, currently don't have time to upload them elsewhere, polishing book 1 and 2, writing 3, takes precedence. Book 1 is in heavy editing, too much to keep synced and continuing editing. I'd need a site which offers JS-free rapid managing of chapters and comments. Coding one myself or setting a premade up is out of scope until I'm done with the books. RRL-old offered that, nuff said. This is only here because the author believes in fairies, nobody reads this, most likely. October to December 2017: Life threw some curveballs. February 2018: Book 2 draft 1 completed, at ~150K words. Book 2 is fairly epic in scope, requires 1 rewritten chapter, some editing. Tables and miscellanea are in, but needs at least a grammar pass. March 2018: Book 3 at 28k words, first arc, rest needs serious planning for spin-off and satisfying conclusion. July 2018: Yet another proofing/editing session of books 1-3, 101+ chapters, ~300k words. B3 at 48k, starts out great, but no ETA, no wordcount limit, in flux. But prioritizing my writing cannot be done, I hate the delays as much as you, but you will prefer the whole released in a timely fashion rather than wait. Knowing myself how excruciating waiting can be, at least you'll get significantly polished versions and an ETA on book 2 by release of book 1. December 23rd 2018: Book 1 is now up at Smashwords and in the process at Amazon et. al.. . To all who wait patiently, offered feedback, thanks again!
