Child Of Destiny Chapter 395

...…
Bang!
Nicolas kneeled on the ground with both of his knees while staring blankly in front of him. He couldn't understand how he kept being defeated by the young man in front of him.
Currently, both of his arms were severed from his shoulders. And no matter how hard he tried to focus his evil powers at regrowing those arms, his insanely powerful regenerative ability seemed to be failing him – he couldn't regrow his severed arms at all. It was as if there was something preventing him from healing himself.
In front of him, Shin was currently walking towards his directions with a slow manner while holding his flexible sword which was releasing an intense glow of a silver Internal Qi.
From Nicolas' perspective, he could also see an illusion of a huge white tiger standing behind Shin and was looking at him with a ferocious gaze.
Nicolas felt a deep fear just by looking at Shin, his instincts were even telling to get out of his place as soon as possible. Unfortunately, his body was frozen in place due to the pressure that he was getting from the young man walking towards him.
And when Shin arrived in front of him, Nicolas knew for himself that this was the end. He wanted to call some from the guys hidden in the dark, but it seemed that those guys already had abandoned him. All he could do right now was to smile bitterly and accept his fate.
Shing!
Shin didn't wait for anything else and immediately swung his flexible sword multiple times, cutting Nicolas into pieces. And right after that, he suddenly thrust his left hand forward while grabbing a glowing bead that was revealed from Nicolas' body.
Crack!
He then clenched his hand to crush that bead into bits before burning its broken pieces with his Sacred Qi.
After that, he swept his sharp gaze on his surroundings trying to see if the opponents hiding in the dark would make their moves. But from the looks of it, they still didn't have any intention of taking action even now.
Shin frowned his eyebrows for a moment thinking what these guys were planning. But when he couldn't think of anything, he decided to throw it at the back of his head for the time being while trying to see where the next move of the opposing side was.
Given that, he turned his head at Arthur and Molton and saw that those two just finished taking down their opponents. He then scanned his surroundings for one more time before walking towards the two.
"Time to go!" said Shin right after arriving beside the two.
Hearing him, Arthur and Molton nodded their heads. And when Shin saw that, he immediately started sprinting to chase after Leonard and the others. At the same time, the other two immediately followed after him, without any intention of staying in this place any longer.

When the three left, the whole place suddenly turned quiet for a moment before a bunch of silhouettes started walking out from the shadows. All of these guys were emitting a powerful aura from their bodies.
One of them walked in the middle of the messy place before sweeping his gaze in his surroundings. After that, he turned his gaze in the direction where Shin and the other two went with a pair of squinting eyes.
A moment later, he turned his head to the side to look over his shoulder before asking. "How is the progress?"
Hearing him, one of the guys took a step forward and bowed. "We still haven't got everything, Sir. But I guess, the data that we gather so far is more than enough for us already."
The leading guy nodded his head slightly before asking once again. "How about the guy who arrived late? Do you have any information regarding him?"
The man bowing behind him smiled bitterly for a moment before replying. "Unfortunately, we are still not sure about his background, Sir."
"But one of our Mentalists said that he casted a disguising technique on himself. And based on the reports that we have, he is most probably the guy who foiled our plans in Michigan City along with the 'Wanderer David'."
Hearing that, the leader seemed to take some interest before saying. "Oh~! Is that so? Then this mission is going to be a little interesting."
Then he turned his head back in front, looking at the direction where Shin and the others went before saying. "He is one of our main targets, right? You guys start moving and meet up with the other at the ambush point."
He paused for a moment before adding. "And go tell Marcus and Mario to come after me. We are going to personally take action this time."
The bowing guy couldn't help but raised his head when he heard that. Then he looked at the leader with an astounded gaze for a moment before nodding his head. "Yes, Sir. I understand."
Hearing that, the leader smirked briefly before disappearing from his spot to chase after Shin and the other two.
The other guy blankly stared at the spot where his leader was previously standing before smiling bitterly. "Such an unlucky bunch. They will surely die with a miserable death now that the 'Three Wolves' are personally going to hunt them."
After that, he raised his right hand and snapped with his fingers while passing the orders given to him. "You heard what the leader said, go start moving!"
"Yes, Sir!" replied the others simultaneously before disappearing from their respective spots.

Being left alone, the guy who was bowing earlier swept his gaze in his surroundings before saying on the darker spot of the place. "How about coming out right now? There are no other people around now."
Right after he said those words, a man suddenly walked out from the shadows wearing a smirking look on his face. "Acting as a weak lamb in front of those guys, huh? I see that you have gotten good with your acting skills, Code."
The man named code squinted his eyes a little after hearing that before asking with a deep voice. "Why are you here? Did 'Snake Head' give new orders?"
Hearing that, the other guy shrugged his shoulders a little before. "Nothing really. I just want to check out the progress of our plans. And I hope you haven't forgotten about that yet."
Code glared at the other guy for a moment before saying sharply. "If you don't have anything good to do, then stop messing around us. We are going to become exposed if you keep appearing like this."
"Yeah, yeah, I got you," replied the other guy with a cheeky attitude. But on the very next instant, his eyes suddenly turned sharp while releasing a deadly aura.
Feeling that, Code's body was suddenly frozen in place for a moment. He wanted to say something but he immediately swallowed it back the moment he heard the next words of the other guy.
"But let me remind you, our time is limited. So, you better make haste now for us to proceed on the next phase of our plans as soon as possible."
After saying that, the other guy didn't wait for Code to give his reply as he immediately stepped back on the shadow once again while leaving some more words. "Just remember that the 'Eyes of the Snake' is always observing all of you from the dark."
Code stood on his spot for quite some time, making sure that the other guy really left before cursing. "D*mn! What are those guys in the higher-ups thinking? Planning to make an even larger mess than this? Did they really think that the 'Serpent' can swallow such a huge meal on this Continent?"
But regardless of all of his complaints, he didn't have any other choice but to follow the orders that were given to him since he was just a little pet of those huge figures.
*******
Meanwhile, Shin, Arthur and Molton just reunited with the others. And right after arriving, Shin immediately said on the mic. "Did you guys already catch the spies missed in the group?"
Hearing him, Angela immediately replied. "We took care of some when they were about to take action. But we suspect that there are still some guys who are not making their moves."
Shin nodded his head when he heard that before sweeping his eyes at the whole group. At the same time, he also started telling the others who were the guys that were most likely the hidden spies.
But while he was doing that, Shin's group suddenly felt a powerful presence of three people chasing after them who were rapidly shrinking the distance in between their group.
Feeling that, Shin and the others started exchanging eye contacts with each other while giving out some signals.
After a moment, everyone decided to leave Jillian and Molton on the escort group since they were both Mentalists who could easily monitor the movements of the whole group with their Mental Energy and sharp senses. And to accompany them, Angela was also left with the group since she was an assassin with quick speed. So, she could immediately respond in time if something went wrong.
Meanwhile, the trio of Shin, Arthur and Leonard immediately slowed down to be at the rear end of the group. And when the other tree already got in position, the monster trio immediately halted their steps and quickly turned around, waiting for their opponents to arrive.
"It has been a while since we are going into a fight like this," said Shin while taking out his flexible sword once again.
"I can't say that I miss this," responded Leonard while fixing his knuckle gloves by pulling them downwards.
"Looks like we are going to take this very seriously, huh?" said Arthur while taking a cylindrical object from the belt bag on his waist.
He then clenched that object very tightly before swinging his arm sideways. And immediately after he did those actions, the cylindrical object that he was holding suddenly extended in two ways and became a 2-meter metal rod.
And after another swing downwards, a triangular blade appeared on one of the metal rod's ends, turning it into a spear.
Arthur put the metal spear up and rested it on his right shoulder as Shin took a sidelong glaze at him and Leonard.
Seeing that both of them were seemingly quite eager to have this fight, Shin couldn't help but smirked a little while saying. "Then let's see what we got this time."

Exuperius [DISCONTINUED]
Terravest. The northernmost continent of the world known by many names of legend, but is most commonly reffered to as Athora, has, for eons, served as the land of exiles. Human criminals, dark elves, grayskinned orcs and dwarves that preffer mining with machinery over the traditional pickaxe alike, have come to call this half-frozen hellhole their home. It is a land of great strife, calamity and crisis, where one legendary tale ends only to begin the next, heroes fall down and villains find themselves thrown into lava. Around seventy years ago, a legendary figure appeared out of seemingly nowhere and conquered three human nations, forming a kingdom worthy enough of being called a small empire. However, at the eve of his heirs ascension, the legend breathed his last, leaving this same bloated, chaotic realm without the pillar that kept it together. Already, the carrion nobility, still spiteful for being denied their "rightful" place below the sun, rise up and gather at the court, each eager to consolidate their own power in these troubled times. Tempers flare, power is exercised without restraint and no one expects the hedonistic prince to succeed at keeping the realm together. Alas, as is often the case with such tales, not everything seems to be as it might at first appear and the vain lords of the realm may yet come to regret their carrion will. --- The Content Warnings are there for a good reason. ---

Divine Progress
Progress is a dubious god. After failing him, three people are banished from modern times and sent to another world. Seemingly out of place, Christoph is snatched from his own time and plunged into a world of violence and magic with no deity to lend him support. Instead, Progress has seen fit to curse him with an eternal hunger for magical energy. Branded as a demon, he must fight for survival while battling the servants of the god who sent him there, struggling against the 'gift' that Progress bestowed upon him and the past he sought to abandon. Can he make his way across the lands and gather enough strength to survive without the blessings of the Divine? Or will the gods bend him to their will, breaking him if he seeks to resist? This is not a short story, and the plot will take many twists and turns before Christoph's journey comes to a close. After all, it is not the destination, but the Progress that matters in the end.
